Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Preparing the Seasonings

Anyway, the chances of her crossing paths with Luo Feng on this vast ocean were practically negligible. Even if she agreed, it wouldn't really matter.

Tang Xuewei then said softly, "I never go back on my word. But don't get your hopes up too much—this ocean stretches endlessly.

I don't even know where I am.

It's basically impossible for us to meet."

Hearing Tang Xueying say this, Luo Feng chuckled. If he didn't have the system, he might have thought the same way.

But now that he had the system, finding someone on this ocean, though extremely difficult, wasn't entirely impossible.

Thinking this, Luo Feng spoke up, "So, you have to stay alive. Don't leave early, or else I'll have to find you in the real world.

But dying this time would cost you 30 years of your lifespan—that's too steep a price."

When Tang Xuewei heard Luo Feng say this, something inside her seemed to stir.

The tightly shut doors of her heart began to show signs of opening.

At this thought, Tang Xuewei suddenly felt she shouldn't continue interacting with Luo Feng under Tang Xueying's identity.

If this went on any longer, she might even start to wonder if she'd end up falling for Luo Feng.

Though she might not mind such a thing, she still found it hard to accept.

And even if she did fall for Luo Feng, it should be under her own identity.

Once this thought took root in her mind, it refused to leave.

After a moment's hesitation, Tang Xuewei said, "Luo Feng, there's something I need to tell you. Actually, I'm Tang Xueying—"

"I know you're Tang Xueying. If you weren't, I wouldn't treat you like this."

Luo Feng found it strange—why would Tang Xueying repeat her identity? Had she been scared out of her wits by the Great White Shark earlier?

Tang Xuewei's words caught in her throat.

The last three words—"…'s older sister"—never made it out.

Anyway, they were unlikely to meet again. Whether she said it or not didn't matter. Even if she did fall for Luo Feng, it wouldn't change anything.

With this realization, Tang Xuewei seemed to come to terms with something. She said, "Never mind. I need to rest for a bit. Let's talk later.

Could you also help me look for my sister, Tang Xuewei?

See if she's ended up in this world too."

Hearing Tang Xueying say this, Luo Feng understood—perhaps she missed her sister. After all, Tang Xueying and Tang Xuewei had always been inseparable, their bond incredibly close.

Thinking this, Luo Feng replied, "Alright, get some rest. I'll take care of finding your sister, Tang Xuewei."

Once Luo Feng and Tang Xueying ended their conversation, he opened the chat channel.

By now, after some time had passed, people were gradually adapting to this new life.

And the variety of items being traded had started to increase.

[Good Fishing Rod Blueprint1] trades for [Food5]

[Excellent Lifebuoy Blueprint1] Trade [Wood20][Palm Leaves*30]

[Blueprint1] Trade [Apple1]

"I'm so thirsty and hungry, can someone take pity on me and give me a bite to eat?"

"I just opened a Wooden Treasure Chest and got a pack of Weilong Spicy Strips. Gotta say, the flavor is pretty authentic, but now I'm even thirstier after eating it. What should I do?"

"I just got some seasonings, but I have no food. What's the point of having these seasonings?"

Luo Feng skimmed through the trades and noticed a few items he needed among the offers.

Without hesitation, Luo Feng posted his own trade.

[Apple1] Trade [Seasoning1]

The moment Luo Feng listed this trade, it immediately drew attention.

After all, no one had obtained a Water Purifier blueprint yet, making water resources extremely scarce.

Fruits were even rarer.

"Damn, how many apples did Shura get? Trading an apple for seasoning is such a waste!"

"I just got a pack of Wangshouyi Thirteen Spices. Wonder if I can trade it for an apple."

"I have a bottle of Laoganma Chili Sauce. That's gotta be worth at least two apples, right?"

Soon, Luo Feng completed several trades.

His dozen or so apples were gone, but in return, he acquired a variety of items—oil, salt, soy sauce, vinegar, chili, cumin, and more.

All the essential cooking ingredients were now in Luo Feng's possession.

Even if others had these seasonings, without food, they were useless to them.

But Luo Feng's offer of an apple was hard to refuse.

Just because these people couldn't use the seasonings didn't mean Luo Feng couldn't.

With his Perfect Fishing Hook, if he managed to catch a fish, these seasonings would come in handy.

Thinking this, Luo Feng sent a message: "That's all for now. I'll come back if I need more later."

"Shura, come back anytime! Just name what you need."

"Thanks so much, Shura! You let me enjoy a delicious apple out here on the sea."

"Take care, Shura! Save some apples for us. If you run into trouble, just say the word—we're always happy to help!"

Luo Feng wasn't surprised by their reactions. After all, being stranded at sea made fresh fruit a luxury.

If the Water Purifier blueprint didn't appear soon, people might start dying of thirst.

The world was just that cruel.

As Luo Feng pondered this, his Perfect Fishing Rod suddenly twitched.

His excitement surged—this meant his Perfect Fishing Rod had caught something.

What kind of fish could he reel in from these waters?

Curious, Luo Feng pulled up the Perfect Fishing Rod.

When the catch surfaced, Luo Feng was stunned.

Hanging from the hook was a Bronze Treasure Chest.

His Perfect Fishing Rod had actually hooked a Bronze Treasure Chest.

This was truly unbelievable.

However, Luo Feng could understand, after all, the description on this Perfect Fishing Rod had already stated that it wasn't just capable of catching fish.
