After the battle, the base was in a mess. The smell of gunpowder and blood filled the air in the ruins. The injured team members were rushed to the temporary medical station for treatment. Looking at the scene in front of me, I felt a complex mix of emotions. Although we had successfully repelled the attack of the Steel Alliance, this victory had come at a heavy price.
"Captain, what shall we do next?" Lynn walked up to me, with a hint of worry in her eyes.
I took a deep breath and said, "We can't be satisfied with this one victory. The Steel Alliance will definitely come back, and they may bring even more powerful forces. We must have new goals."
Everyone gathered around and listened to me quietly.
"First of all, we need to continue to improve everyone's skills. Lynn, you need to further master the control of electronic devices and try to play a role in more complex environments. Kevin, your shield skill needs to be strengthened in terms of intensity and duration. Tom, you need to improve the accuracy and explosive power of your flame attacks." I looked at them one by one and said seriously.
The team members nodded one after another, indicating that they would train hard.
"Secondly, we need to find more resources. Weapons, ammunition, food, and medicine are all necessities for our survival and battle. I heard that there may be a large amount of supplies in an abandoned town nearby. We can go there to explore." I continued.
"But the abandoned town must be very dangerous. Maybe there are other forces or mutant creatures lurking there." Kevin frowned and said.
"That's right, there must be dangers. But we can't give up the opportunity just because we're afraid of danger. Moreover, we now have awakened skills, and our strength has been greatly improved compared to before. As long as we make full preparations and deal with it carefully, we will surely gain something." I said firmly.
After hearing my words, everyone gained courage.
In the next few days, the team members were all engaged in intense training. Lynn kept trying to control various electronic devices and even tried to crack some abandoned electronic locks and password systems. Kevin practiced generating and maintaining the shield repeatedly on the open ground of the base, and his clothes were soaked with sweat. Tom was outside the base, constantly releasing flames and adjusting the intensity and direction of the flames.
Meanwhile, I also began to formulate a plan to go to the abandoned town. I carefully studied the map and marked out possible routes and dangerous areas. I also arranged some team members to collect information about the abandoned town to understand the general situation there.
Finally, everything was ready. We took enough weapons, ammunition, and food and set off on our journey to the abandoned town.
Along the way, we moved forward cautiously. The surrounding environment was extremely desolate, with broken walls and abandoned vehicles everywhere. From time to time, some mutant creatures rushed past us, but we easily dealt with them.
When we approached the abandoned town, I felt a depressing atmosphere coming towards me. The entrance of the town was filled with ruins, as if telling the story of the past disaster.
"Everyone, be careful. There may be danger here." I whispered.
We slowly walked into the town. The buildings on both sides of the street were in ruins, with broken windows and bullet holes on the walls. Suddenly, a low growl came from the front, and a group of mutant dogs rushed out from an alley.
"Get ready for battle!" I shouted.
Lynn quickly controlled the electronic device she carried with her and interfered with the senses of the mutant dogs. Kevin immediately generated a shield to protect us. Tom released a blazing flame and rushed towards the mutant dogs.
With our combined attack, the mutant dogs were quickly repelled. But this was just the beginning. We knew that greater challenges were yet to come.
We continued to explore in the town and finally found a building that looked like a warehouse. I guessed that there might be the supplies we needed here.
When we approached the warehouse, we found that the door was tightly closed, with a huge lock hanging on it. Lynn stepped forward and began to try to crack the electronic system of the lock.
After a while, Lynn showed a happy expression. "I've succeeded!" she said.
We pushed open the door of the warehouse, and it was filled with all kinds of supplies. There were weapons, ammunition, food, medicine, as well as some electronic devices and tools.
"Great, we've found them!" the team members cheered.
We began to busily carry the supplies. Just then, we suddenly heard a noisy sound outside. I walked to the door warily and looked out. I found that a group of armed men were coming towards the warehouse.
"Not good, it's another force. They may have smelled the supplies." I said.
"Captain, what shall we do?" the team members asked nervously.
"We can't let them take the supplies away. Everyone, get ready for battle and defend the warehouse!" I said firmly.
A new battle was about to begin...
