Chapter 17 - Chapter 17 – When Kings Speak in Silence

Location: Grand Line – Skygrave Atoll

The sea faded.

Not in noise or form—but in presence. It was as if the Grand Line itself held its breath.

Roger guided the Oro Jackson into still waters above a perfectly circular lagoon. No waves. No wind. The clouds above curved like a dome.

Rayleigh checked the log pose.

"This place doesn't exist on any compass."

Kael nodded.

"Because it isn't a place."

Toni stood at the prow, eyes sharp.

"Then what is it?"

Kael answered without turning.

"It's a memory… too powerful to be erased."

🌫️ Arrival at Skygrave

As they crossed the boundary of the still waters, light dimmed—not from clouds, but from a veil of spiritual pressure. The sea below shimmered like polished obsidian, and high above, ancient stone towers floated—impossibly suspended in air.

From above, shapes descended.

Armored, faded, spectral.

Their crowns broken, their swords rusted by time—but their eyes… still burning with will.

The Silent Kings.

Roger reached for his blade, but Kael raised a hand.

"They're not enemies. Not yet."

One of them floated toward Toni.

Not walking. Not flying. Simply moving, as if time bent to his intent.

His voice was like the whisper of falling sand.

"You are the Child of the Lost Blade."

"You carry the Myth that remembers."

"We have been waiting."

🌀 Trial of the Forgotten Throne

Toni stepped forward.

"What do you want from me?"

The spirit extended a hand, and the sea below began to swirl. A whirlpool formed—but did not drag the ship. It became a mirror.

In it, Toni saw himself standing atop a throne of skulls. Around him, the sea burned, and kings bowed.

Rayleigh's eyes widened.

"Is that… the future?"

Kael shook his head.

"No. That's a possibility."

🌌 Inside the Dream Trial

Toni's body collapsed. His soul was pulled into the mirror.

He awoke in a place where the sea floated in the sky, and islands bled like wounds in the air.

A man sat on a throne of crystal.

He looked just like Toni—only older. Harder. Empty.

"You want to save the world?" the older version asked.

"Then forget who you are. Become what the sea needs."

Toni looked around.

People bowed. He had power. He had conquered the Leviathan. Even the World Government knelt.

But… there was no Roger. No Shanks. No freedom. Only obedience.

He clenched his fists.

"This isn't me."

The dream-Toni stood and drew a dark blade shaped like broken time.

"Then prove it."

⚔️ Battle of the Two Tonis

It was unlike anything he'd faced.

This version of him had mastered everything.

All Mythblade forms.

All pacts.

All haki.

And yet—he felt nothing.

They clashed, blade against blade. The air cracked with every impact. The dream-world warped around them—castles shattered, oceans boiled, stars blinked out.

Real Toni bled from the nose, the mouth—but he screamed with every strike.

"I'm not here to rule! I'm here to remember!"

One final cut.

And the other Toni fell—smiling.

"You passed."

🧭 Return from the Trial

Toni gasped awake on the deck of the Oro Jackson. Three seconds had passed—but it felt like a lifetime.

The Silent Kings stood in silence.

Then one bowed.

"We will sleep… a little longer."

"But should the Void devour the Sun…

You must awaken us all."

With that, the sky shattered like glass—and the archipelago faded.

Nothing but open sea again.

🌅 Final Scene – Into New Waters

That night, Roger sat beside Toni.

"You okay, kid?"

Toni looked up.

"I saw who I could become. If I forget what matters."

Roger nodded. "That's the test of power. It doesn't come when you gain it. It comes when you don't need it anymore."

Toni looked at the stars.

And in the distance—a new island appeared.

The log pose spun wildly.

A land wrapped in fog. Covered in ice.

And at its center—something called out to Toni.

A blade. Older than the world.

Waiting for the one who remembers.
