Chapter 10 - Chapter 10- The Escape

The castle's underbelly stank of mold, blood, and secrets. Rhiannan paced her cage like a feral animal, blood buzzing under her skin with every second that ticked by. Princess Gailia, prim and proper, now had her gown tied into a makeshift tunic and was kneeling in front of the lock, whispering in an ancient tongue.

"What the fuck are you saying?" Rhi hissed.

"Unlocking spell," Gailia muttered, sweat beading at her temples. "These bastards use enchanted steel. Nothing opens it except a blood key or an incantation passed down through royal lines."

"You could've mentioned that an hour ago!" Arwen snarled.

"Do you want out or not, brother?"

Click.

The door swung open.

Rhiannan didn't wait. She was on her feet, grabbing a rusted pipe from the floor, and smashing the locking rune on Arwen's cage.

"Move!" she barked. "Time to spill some fucking royal blood." She was vengeance incarnate, her rage boiling inside her and threatening to spill over. Magic sparked across her fingers as Gailia entered the code for their magic blocking cuffs and they fell to the floor with a clatter. Rhiannan smiled, flexing her hands in excitement. "Let's fuck shit up!" She yelled.

Arwen grabbed her and embraced her tightly. "Don't leave my side little moon!"

They moved like shadows through the tunnels, Rhiannan was barefoot, eyes glowing faintly in the dark, her instincts leading the way. Tiny creatures crept from the cracks, mice with glimmering fur, glowing bugs, a tiny owl with eyes like the moon.

"Help us," she whispered in her mind.

They swarmed forward, leading the way.

Above them, the castle was waking. Boots thudded. Metal clanged. Magic pulsed. The Queen had found the empty cells.

Gailia led them through a hidden corridor behind the chapel. But the moment they burst into the open courtyard....

Hell greeted them.

Dozens of guards. Warlocks with glowing staves. Shifters in hybrid form. Fangs. Claws. Fire.

"RUN!" Gailia screamed as she fucked a flying spell ball.

But Rhiannan didn't run. She snarled. She exploded. She let her rage consume her and explode.

Her rage ignited like wildfire.

She screamed and the ground cracked.

Vines erupted from the earth, coiling around feet and throats, snapping necks like twigs. Lightning and silver star fire tore across the sky and slammed into a warlock mid spell, frying him alive. Arwen dove into the fray, blade flashing, panther roaring in his blood.

Rhiannan danced between attackers, her pipe now glowing with raw magic. She jabbed it into a guard's chest and blasted him backwards, bones shattering. She laughed as she danced around them, memories of her previous training flowing through her mind like a spell as she allowed her body to lead her. Starfire exploding all around her, vaporizing anyone who came even close to her. Arwen watched her in awe, his cock getting hard and he awkwardly adjusted himself and then shifted into his panther, ripping out throats one by one as he savagely snarled.

A commander strode into the chaos, she was tall, armored in silver and black, with blazing red eyes. Commander Vexia. Her reputation was brutal, her loyalty to the queen absolute.

"Well, well," Vexia sneered. "The goddess spawn whore and her consort. Has he bred your worthless ass yet?" She sneered hatefully.

Rhiannan snarled and launched herself at the woman, rage burning in the depths of her soul.

They clashed, sparks and blood flying, each blow a fucking war cry. Vexia slammed a sword across Rhi's ribs. Rhi roared, caught it, and yanked the bitch forward, headbutting her so hard her helm cracked.

Pain exploded across her knuckles. Her blood hit the ground, and the magic inside her answered the call. Vexia slammed her fist into Rhiannans face, but Rhi was quicker, dodging just in time as her deadly vines began to wind themselves around the commander.

Vexias eyes narrowed as she realized what was happening and tried to use magic of her own to break out of the vines but Rhiannans rage was all consuming and without mercy. The vines continues tightening like a snake killing it's prey and the vicious light in the commanders eyes gave way to fear as she pleaded for her life.

Rhiannan didn't even hear her and she released the command for the vines to end it. The commanders screams cut off abruptly as her life ended and her eyes flashed with death. Rhiannan sneered down at her, "Whose worthless now bitch." She spit on Vexias corpse and walked away.

Suddenly...

BOOM.

The sky ripped open with the force of the magic they had been using and Vexias dead body exploded into matter. Bye bitch. Rhiannan grinned and clicked her tongue, "To bad so sad. Not."

She ran to her panther mate and his sister and they clasped hands and ran as fast as they could.

Rhiannan, Arwen, and Gailia slipped into the dark woods under cover of chaos, guided only by moonlight and the whispering of creatures loyal to Rhi. Minky, a silver haired fox darted ahead, alerting them of danger, while a tiny owl circled overhead.

For a time, it was peaceful.....too peaceful. They moved quickly, trying to put as much space between them and the chaos as possible. Rhiannan glances around, the hairs on her arms standing at attention. She whispered, "I feel something." Arwen held the two women tightly, protectively and moved his massive frame to shield them.

Then the woods changed.

The air turned thick. Cold. Wrong.

Shadows slithered between the trees, amorphous things with glowing red eyes and clawed limbs. They struck fast, shrieking like broken glass, lashing out at the group.

Arwen was slashing. Gailia hurled fire.

Rhiannan felt power surge into her fists.

She screamed and blasted one apart, but another latched onto her back. Claws sank into her shoulder, and blood poured hot down her spine. The stench of her own blood made her gag and she almost fell.

"MINKY!" she called.

The fox leapt, biting deep into the creature's throat, giving her the opportunity to stab it in the heart. She growled fiercely, eyes flashing, blood thrumming and adrenaline pulsing through her body.

Then came a howl. They all turned, anticipating more monsters.

But this was not a monster.

A wolf. A very large wolf shifter with piercing blue eyes locked on Rhiannan.

The huge, glowing white wolf was the size of a fucking horse, and he crashed through the underbrush like a divine wrecking ball, slamming into the shadows and tearing them to shreds. One by one, the monsters fell to his fury, as they all fought tooth and nail.

When it was over, he turned to Rhiannan, blue eyes seeming to pierce right through her soul.

She raised her pipe, panting, bloodied. "You next, furball?" She taunted roughly.

The wolf shifted.

And there he stood.

Golden hair, piercing blue eyes, dimples and muscles like sin. Her thighs trembled again, and heat flooded through her as her cheeks blushes red. She grimaced. What the fuck was happening to her body!

"Kaleb," he said simply, his voice calm like a winter breeze. He was so sexy she felt like she might pass out and she fanned herself with her hand.

"Who the fuck are you?" Rhi panted as she stared at him unabashedly, admiring his absolutely delicious body. He looked like an Abercrombie model walked right out of the magazine.

"Your forever," he growled seductively, his eyes glowing faintly. "But we'll get to that."

Rhi scowled, "Another mate huh? Cool fucking story." She turned and gasped, looking around, "Arwen where the fuck did your sister go!?"

They both turned, frantically searching but she was gone. Rhiannan sobbed, "They got her! Arwen we have to save her!" He pulled her close, wiping her tears from her beautiful face. "We will little moon, I promise." She sniffed, accepting it and buried her face in his chest.

Kaleb watched with warmth spreading in his chest. This is my goddess, he thought. She is going to change the world as we know it, and I finally found her. The bond glowed inside him as he scowled to himself. Didn't think I would be sharing a mate, but it is what it is I suppose.
