As the new day rises, the light of dawn shining upon Alca.
After a few moments Alca's eyes flutters open and she wakes up from her slumber.
Standing up, she gathers her bag and items and walks out of the junkyard and starts to walk in the streets now filled with people, families talking a walk, students going to their schools, and workers walking to their workplace.
As Alca walks through she evaluates her options to obtain some money for today
"Mister Albert's going to deliver goods later and because he is going to be short staffed for today he is taking all the help he can get as he has a deal with nobles."
"But it's so contested that it won't even be worth it in the end.. just picking up scraps pays too little too.. ughh.. so little options"
"Becoming a temporary waitress at Miss Anna's eatery seems like the best option right now..." She says after after assessing her situation sighing in acceptance.
As Alca walks towards the eateryshe looks around and sees children like her without home or family.
"What the? Are they increasing..?" She wonders as there are more children than she usually sees
Although remorseful, Alca shrugs off at sight knowing that she cannot do anything to provide help for them.
After a while Alca finally reaches the eatery and see's a blonde woman that seems to be in her early twenties opening up the eatery.
"Miss Anna!" Alca shouts gaining the woman's attention.
"Oh my.. Alca?!" Anna gasps at the sight of Alca, her hands reaching at her cheek and pinching it
"I told you to go to an orphanage! Why are you still on the streets you little rascal huh?!" Anna says to her voice having a hint of frustration but still caring.
"Owww... The orphanages here are are already full.. i don't want to overwhelm the caretakers more.." Alca responds.
"Alright! Still making excuses huh?" Anna says as she let's go of Alca.
"So what do you want?" Anna asks Alca with an air of authority.
"I heard you were short staffed today-"
"Alright stop! I already know what you are going ask" Anna says as she cuts off Alca
"You want to work here right?"
"Yes!" Alca responds happily and giggling.
"Alright alright... Just ask the customers for their orders okay?" Anna tells her
"Okay!" Alca responds
Anna giggles at Alca's energetic personalities and reaches for Alca's hand and leads her inside.
Inside were a half a dozen tables each having 2-4 seats each and the room is plain only decorated by plants in the corners.
"Let's talk about your pay for helping. 75 copper coins per hour and free meals are good enough right?" Anna asks Alca smiling
"Yep"
"Alright.. i'll just open the eatery and we'll get started.." Anna says as she opens the eatery
After a few moments customers starts to come inside and alca starts taking their orders.
As Alca continues to work hard Anna watches over her feeling a bit proud smiling as she works.
Later as the day begins to end. Alca and Anna is starting to close the eatery as Alca gets ready to go back.
"Alca! Here is your money.. that is 5 silver and 25 copper coins okay don't waste it all okay?" Anna tells her as she hands Alca her money
"Thanks" Alca responds smiling and eyes sparkling from the money she had made
"I hear that there is going to be a big event on the colloseum next week.. have you head of it?" Anna asks
"Eh? What event?" Alca reponds filled with curiousity
"I heard that two guilds will be fighting there. I just don't know which guilds" Anna says to her
"What are guilds?" Alca asks her curiousity peaking
"Why am i not surprised?" Anna sighs at her question.
"Guilds are a subjugation organization mostly focused on taking down monsters that are considered dangerous. And that's mostly it, i never joined one so i don't know what else to tell you. So did you get all that?"
Alca nods in understandment and continues to listen to alca explaining the event happening next week
"Next week the two guilds fighting in the colloseum are recruiting. And if you pass 3 of their tests you will be considered a candidate and you will be given 1 gold coin even if you don't get in. A big opportunity don't you think?"
Upon hearing the mention of a gold coin Alca's perks up and looks at Anna. Her scarlet red sparkling very brightly
"Thank you for telling me" Alca tells Anna before bidding her goodbye and going back to the junkyard she calls home
As she is walking Alca notices the colloseum standing tall and decides to go inside for a chance to find where the recruitment will take place.
Upon getting inside she looks around. It is quiet the colloseum filled with empty seats and an empty booth seemingly the area where the recruitment will take place.
Alca smiles at the sight until she spots two people fighting in the arena. One a woman holding a dagger and a staff and the other a man sword and shield.
She watches them as they fight sparks flying from the clashing of steel, both are seems to be equally matched. But then a glowing purple sphere appears in front of the woman before expanding into a circle with four sigils at it's sides.
Alca surprised at the sight steps back and falls on her rear. Looking at the woman she seems to be chanting something but Alca is too far away to hear. In a moments notice the circle collapses back into a sphere and explodes into 10 purple arrowlike beams flying towards the man, his shield is raised and seems to be braced for the attack.
Upon contact the beams explodes excreting a purple smoke. After the smokes clear up the man now lying down exhausted. Raises his hands and surrenders.
The woman helping the man back up both of them smiling and laughing.
Alca still watching in the sidelines eyes sparkling in amazement to what she saw before realizing that she should leave area before she gets spotted and thus she leaves the area running.
Upon getting in the junkyard she calls home. Alca takes her tattered book and using the empty pages in the back Alca draws what she saw using inks leftover from the pikes of trash. A circle with 4 sigils.
Upon completing the illutration feeling tired from working with Anna and watching the two people fighting in the arena. She lays down on the ground and falls asleep, smiling, happy, and satisfied.
