The first day was ending on The Lucky Treasure as the sunset arrived, Alloy stood on the left edge of the bow of the ship as she watched the hues of the clouds began surrendering to the sun's presence. It smacked both hers and Damion's skins a few hours ago, but now, they shone with a golden color splattered on their faces. Alloy was confused, she loved her current situation, but she also hated how her best friend could've been in the unpredictable and dangerous hands of someone else. Damion also had quite a lot on his mind. His brother hated him and because of that, the hate had to be mutual after Spire's actions became consistent and more… lethal. The two of them were deep in thought, when they began hearing thuds… they got louder as they noticed they were footsteps, so they looked behind to see two figures.
A man who was bandaged entirely from neck to belt was being assisted to walk… or rather limp his way toward the two. The person helping him was the loyal man who spoke for him when a newbie tried to take his head, his name was Brett. They ignored them and went back to their sunset views.
"What do you want, Otto??" Damion asked.
"I need to call Spire…" He spoke, his breath shaky and incredibly weak. "But if he finds out we failed… we're in big trouble."
"That doesn't concern us." He answered.
"But we're the ones at risk and you're on our ship!!" He tried to bellow, but coughed blood immediately after.
"Hey!! Boss!!" Brett urged. "Don't push yourself!! You need to rest or your wounds will reopen!!" He placed him down, a good distance away from Damion and Alloy, as he ran inside the deck and came back out with water and some food that was basically dry and stale breads. The two were also given their share as their stomachs clearly rumbled and they were too busy in their thoughts as well as the enemy ship they were on that forced their guards to stay up.
"Thank you!!" Alloy expressed her gratitude as she crumbled a piece of bread in her arms. She bit into the hard piece of bread and as close as her teeth were to cracking, she had no choice but to pull through. She had just noticed that since Ivy had gone… she barely ate anything. Her mind was so full that it ignored her stomach, and while she needed actual food to settle her down, the piece of bread that was as hard as a brick had to temporarily do the job. Damion was the same, he had a similar stress in his mind, and staying in the swamp wasn't exactly fulfilling.
"It's so dry…" they both exclaimed as their teeth shattered on the next bite. Damion got up with an idea.
"Do you have a small boat we can use??"
"How will that help us??"
"Simple, we'll leave you here, you can tell him I wasn't at the swamp."
"He's right, boss!!" Brett spoke. "If we didn't find him, there's no reason for us to go back to Spire!!"
"Do what they tell you, let's get rid of them now." Otto replied.
"Let's go check it out, Alloy." Damion said. They got up and headed toward the back of the ship. It conveniently held a tiny row boat that could help the two get to the island. It was a big enough boat for the two and they decided on it for the day after. They didn't see the need for leaving right away if all they awaited was getting lost at sea instantly. Damion felt a nudge on his shoulder from Alloy.
"W… what is that??" She asked.
"What is what??"
"That!!" She pointed at the boat. Damion looked at it and then widened his perception. Behind as well as behind it, the open jaw of something was surfacing from below the waves. Right after, it lunged into the air, with the boat in its mouth.
"Sea Monsters!!" The men screamed, watching the giant fish-like figure's eye glance at them as it crushed the boat instantly.
"Monsters??!!" Alloy questioned after her initial shock of the green and yellow combination of colors on what seemed to be what she thought it was. "IT LOOKS LIKE A GIANT FISH!!" She noticed as it dived back into the sea. Splashing so much water onboard it dragged Alloy to one of the masts. Damion walked over after the water subsided to help her up. She took his hand as he answered her.
"That is exactly what they are… they are found around the world easily, but I hear other parts of the sea have bigger and more dangerous ones."
"So if I cut it, we can eat it??!!" She asked, her eyes filled with joy of the expected answer.
"Maybe, but I'm not sure if its poisonous."
"It isn't…" Otto struggled from where he sat. Brett and a few men beside him.
"Most of them here are easily found by anyone on the sea, however… they are tough, that's the only catch."
"AWESOME!!" Alloy shouted. "Where did it go??" She added as she ran to look over the sides of the ship. It began shaking, rumbling, when they saw it again, erupting from the right side of the ship and going head first into the air. The shock spread through the entire ship, Damion watched as he expected it.
"Alloy… how will we manage to…" he began as he looked at where Alloy was supposed to be… next to him. This would be the first time Damion experienced Alloy for who she was, he looked around to see where she was, when he heard the scream of a highly exhilarated person in the air. Upon glancing once more, he saw Otto's men point up, and his curiosity was confirmed into fear once they spoke.
"SHE'S UP THERE!!"
"IS SHE CRAZY??!!"
"HEY!! GET BACK DOWN!!"
Upon glancing at the giant fish, Damion's easily sharp eyes found another figure at the top of its head. The fish wailed in pain, and there she was, the person who would become his captain, should they win the fight ahead of them, that was… was hanging from a blade she had already pierced the fish with. As it came flying back down, blood from its neck spilled into the water and it took its hostile down with her.
"ALLOY!!" Damion called out.
"HEY!! THE GIRL WAS DRAGGED INTO THE SEA!!" The men also called out.
"Can she swim??!!"
"Hey!! Someone go after her!!"
For a solid minute, they wondered what happened to her inside the waves of the sea before they heard a giant splash of water next to them. Alloy jumped out of the water immediately after, and landed in front of Damion, all wet and soaked. Her katana were already turned to mist as she wrung her clothes and water flowed out. She looked at the men who wondered.
"Hey!! Move from there!!" She urged. The men wondered if she was a bit confused before a giant shadow began forming right where they were. A few looked up and began running out of there… the two who didn't know what was happening, were landed on by a giant decapitated fish that still flapped slightly. Smacking two more people with its tail fin.
"Does someone know how to cook this??" She asked. Instantly, everyone's eyes popped out of their sockets.
"HOW THE HELL DID YOU MANAGE TO DO THAT??!!" They all asked.
In her confusion, she answered.
"What do you mean?? I'm hungry!!"
"THAT DOESN'T ANSWER THE QUESTION!!" They snapped.
Soon after, nearly everyone's stomach on the ship was so full, they couldn't believe how much they got to eat. The sun had finally gone down and the moon was fully up. Alloy was already fast asleep right next to Damion. He had decided to stay up and keep watch should anyone decide to turn on them yet again. Damion could easily tell that Alloy was dreaming… why?? She was full and happy, however, her happiness was also fueled by someone else, someone she was with only in her dreams.
"Ivy…" She mumbled. Leaving Damion to wonder who she was.
