Chapter 12 - 12

Scarlett

I had gotten dressed for school today. Thankfully, today is a Friday,... meaning no school tomorrow. I walked down the stairs into the living room to see my aunt walk out of the kitchen. "You're late. Your uncle's already left for work. Guess you'll be walking to school today." she announced without me asking her to.

"I know. Today, I didn't feel like tagging along with him. I want to stretch my legs a little bit." I answered back, my eyes not leaving my phone once. "Okay. Here." Miranda handed me a small tin can full something I couldn't recognize. "What's this?" I asked. "Fish guts. Dispose it on your way out." she instructed. "Alright." I said, collecting the covered can from her. I went into the kitchen and threw it into a Ziploc then kept it in my bag.

I stepped out of the house and headed off to school. It felt weird always having this guy around me and it was even weirder that only I could see him. "If I give you something to hold, will onlookers think it's flying?" He paused a while then answered, "Not unless you want me to make them think it's flying. Why do you ask?"

I pulled the itching powder I had earlier put in my bag out and tossed the bag towards him. We were infront of an orphanage not so far away from my house. I scaled the fence and he just walked through it. "Awwwn. Why can't I do that?" I whined. "Aren't you supposed to be heading to school?" "Aren't you the one that asked me to break your curse?" I shot back.

He smirked. "What do you want to do now?" I walked towards the main water system of the orphanage. "Get revenge." I answered. I climbed unto the top of the tank, then I pulled the lid open and started pouring the powder into the water. "The matrons and patrons here always treat me bad,... so I decided to teach them a lesson." "Don't the children use this water as well?" he asked . "Yeah. That's what's going to make this more fun."

Through with my evil deed, I placed the lid back on then slid down the tank. The black diamond on the ring turned blue. "Delightful." I smiled, admiring the blue glow on the ring. "Come on, let's go. I've got to get to school before class starts. I've got a nice trick in mind." I said scaling the fence again. "Hope you are aware that there are still fish guts in your bag." he reminded me. "Oh I'm fully aware." I smirked.
