Shinji's POV:
I woke up in a cold sweat inside my new room in the colosseum. I was in my normal clothes without a scratch on my body. Just as I was beginning to think that perhaps the mad professor had started haunting my dreams too, I spotted a vomit-stained pirate outfit in the closet.
*Knock*
*knock*
*knock*
I could hear a knock coming from the entrance to my apartment. As I cautiously approached the door, I slowly opened it, fully prepared to shut the door and lock it, should a certain professor be standing on the other side. To my relief it wasn't him. Instead, it was just an official messenger here to inform me to go get ready for the opening ceremony for the tournament. Apparently, I overslept and was running late. I quickly grabbed a slice of bread to eat on the way as I ran towards the arena entrance.
*Crash*
In a rush I neglected to look where I was going and bumped into someone heading into the arena knocking her over.
"Ugh! Sorry, are you oka-?" Just then the professors unscarred face flashed before my eyes as I looked at the girl I just knocked down.
"I'm fine." She said as she got up.
I could barely stop myself from screaming as I calmed down. The girl in front of me looked to be about my age, with cyan colored eyes, long silver hair, and eerily similar facial features to my professor.
After she got back up, she brushed off the dust from the ground and walked into the arena. I stood there in shock for a moment before running after.
Inside the arena there was a crowd of people around my age who were looking at a group of people standing on a podium. I could see Aiko and Kenji standing in the back as they waved at me to come over.
"AND WITH THAT, WE ARE GLAD TO ANNOUNCE THE START OF WALPURGISNACHT!" The short old man on the podium said as I finally reached my classmates. Soon after the crowd dispersed as everyone left the arena.
"Hey! Stop pulling! Can someone explain what's happening? Aren't we supposed to start the tournament now?" I asked as Aiko and Kenji were dragging me out of the arena.
Just as we reached the entrance the arena floor began to ripple like water as the podium began to sink through the ground, while a number of caged platforms suddenly emerged out of the ground along with three giant billboards showing today's matchups.
According to Kenji and Aiko. The Walpurgisnacht will last for 7 days, finally ending on the 1st of May. Each day the participants will fight one on one matches to remain in the tournament, and the three who remain until the end are crowned the winners of this year's Walpurgisnacht.
After about 10 minutes after the stadium changed, the magically enchanted speakers announced it to be safe to step on the arena floor. Soon after, me and every other participant moved towards the billboards.
On the billboard for the spellcasters division our names were written down vertically right next to our opponents, along with which caged arena we will be fighting in. There was even a map of the stadium telling us where to go.
I headed to arena 'M7' to face my opponent. I could see Aiko and Kenji walking towards the one three cages down from mine. I waved at them right before I entered my arena.
