(Iceland, Beneath the Northern Lights)
Green auroras stretched across the sky like silk, flowing and flickering in the frozen heavens.
Alia and Carson lay on the bed inside a glass cabin, gazing up at the stars through the domed ceiling.
Her hand rested in his, their rings glowing faintly in the night.
"Victor once asked me," Alia said softly, "what remains after revenge."
Carson turned to face her, tracing her features with his fingertips.
"And do you have your answer now?"
She smiled, rolled over, and pinned him beneath her, her hair cascading around them like a curtain.
"You," she whispered. "What's left is you."
Outside, the northern lights danced, as if the heavens themselves were celebrating their rebirth.
