Chapter 7 - not an actual chapter just gonna clarify some stuff

like the title says I'm just here to explain various things like gifts and magic and also explain and talk about some characters there might be incongruities and maybe some spoilers but i feel like i need to explain some stuff that i forgot to or just didn't feel like doing

lets do gifts first (chatgpt helped me elaborate on this 😄)

📖 What Is a Gift?

A Gift is a unique power or enhancement bestowed upon every sentient being shortly after birth—or during a significant magical awakening. Gifts are considered a reflection of the individual's spirit, nature, and potential, often aligning with personality, elemental affinity, or life circumstances.

Every person receives a gift in their lifetime. No one can change or lose it—but they can grow into it, awaken hidden aspects, or find deeper mastery over time.

🧬 Types of Gifts

Gifts are broadly categorized into three main types:

1. Ability-Based Gifts

Unique abilities that manifest as spells, skills, or traits.

Examples:

Sharpshooter – Enhances precision, speed, and impact of projectile attacks. (vamir has this one)

Beast Whisperer – Allows communication with and influence over magical beasts. (made by ai)

Time Step – Momentarily speeds up the user's perception and movement. (made by ai)

These gifts vary slightly per person—like how Vamir's Sharpshooter has extended range and power.

2. Affinity Boosters

Gifts that strengthen the wielder's elemental or magical alignment.

Examples:

Waterborne Grace – Enhances water magic control and regeneration. (serena has this but ai made the ability better so yaaa)

Flameheart – Increases fire magic potency and resistance.( Ryfon ain't getting this junk)

Echo Core – Boosts general mana capacity and recovery. ( ai made this names might change it later)

These are more common but still deeply personal, often inherited or shaped by lineage.

3. Object-Based Gifts

Manifest as bound items with magical traits. These items cannot be separated from their user and grow stronger over time.

Examples:

Ever-Ink Quill – A pen that writes the user's thoughts and stores spells. (kinda op ngl)

Guardian Cloak – Reactively protects its wearer from harm. (harry potter ahh cloak)

Grimoire Vault (like Vaelwyn's) – A private subspace only accessible to the user, limited to books.

💠 Gift Traits & Characteristics

Uniqueness Rule: No two Gifts are exactly the same. Even if two people have Sharpshooter, the parameters—range, reload speed, power, accuracy—will differ, shaped by their soul or life path.

Rarity Levels:

Common – Simple affinity boosters or minor utility gifts.

Uncommon – Combat-effective abilities or versatile skills.

Rare – World-shaping gifts like spatial magic, time dilation, or legendary bound artifacts.

Mythic – Gifts seen once in a generation, often tied to prophecy, ancient bloodlines, or spirit convergence.

🌌 How Are Gifts Awakened?

childhood Awakening  this happens when the child reaches the right age for there gift and when happens it just a sudden realization nothing more nothing less (I'll prob get more in to it later)

Life Trigger Some awaken only after a major event—emotional trauma, survival situations, or exposure to high mana fields. (this only happens if they child hasn't awakened there gift before said accident no real drawbacks other than fainting after over using the gift)

Inherited Legacy In rare cases, Gifts run through bloodlines, appearing in altered forms in descendants (e.g., a fire gift evolving into magma or solar flame). (idk about this one but i do like the idea so imma keep it)

⚠️ Social & Cultural Views

Gift Envy: It's considered rude or impolite to ask someone directly about their gift, as some people feel shame or pride over what they received.

Gift Suppression: Some families hide or suppress a child's gift if it's dangerous or taboo (e.g., dark magic–related gifts).

(this was self-explanatory)

now on to magic imma about this from ai like its a questionnaire and answer them it makes things simple.

Lets do magic now :)

1. Core Concepts

Source of Magic: Where does magic come from?

- it comes from nature and the environment magic is every where the base affinity is atmosphere mana if one where to go to a volcano they would find the fire affinity along with magma and atmosphere affinities magma is mixture of earth and fire affinities it is also known as a artificial affinity meaning you can only exist if you combine two or more affinities i was gonna talk about this in chapter 5 but i forgot there are more artificial affinities but that's for later

Users: Who can use magic? Everyone, chosen few, or gifted only?

everyone can use but not everyone use talented enough to use it that or they just choose not to unless your born without mana your good and can use magic

Cost: Is there a cost or limitation when casting magic? (mana, stamina, lifespan)

-mana...

Categories: Types or schools of magic? (elemental, spirit, blood magic, etc.)

-elemental magic, spirit magic, attributes-less and maybe bloodline magic there definitely gonna be race magic but thats for later

2. Types of Magic

Elemental Magic: Fire, water, earth, wind, , etc.

Attribute-less Magic: Utility or non-elemental (telekinesis, healing, illusions)

Variant Magic: Subtypes of elements (metal, ice, plant)

Deviant Magic: Outside traditional elements (light, dark, space, lightning)

3. Magic Affinity & Gifts

How does affinity affect a mage's abilities?

-if you have the affinity for a magic you can use it way better than someone who doesn't

if Serena made a fireball using a 100 mana points (that just to give it numerical value)

it would take Ryfon around 10 mana points to make the same sized fire ball that because of talent and because of his affinity

Are Gifts connected to magic?

-kinda sorta if it an affinity booster than yes if not then unless it specifically helps with magic then your on your own

Can affinity be changed or developed?

-it can't be changed unless you some how undergo a race/species change in which cause there might be some changes and there no way develop it unless your just increasing your control over said element

4. Magic Mechanics

How is magic cast? (gestures, words, focus objects)

-different for everyone some chant some use calculations some use memorization techniques and some do image techniques (Ryfon is gonna use memorization and image techniques since they could be considered the best versions since there faster but also harder)

How do you learn magic? (rituals, schools, mentors)

-books, schools, teachers but after a bit you just gotta teach your self

How powerful can magic users become?

-idk read and see

5. Magic & Society

How does magic affect culture, politics, and daily life?

-if your a good mage your a rich mage

broke people can't use magic sense it often takes money to learn it unless you teach your self from the get-go but also at the same time it really hard to master like really hard the elves just make it look easy racial advantage am i right

Are there laws or taboos about magic use?

-the definitely gonna be forbidden magic idk what it is though

Are magic users revered, feared, or both?

-i wouldn't say revered that a very strong word but i would say both it

Casting:

Magic is channeled through mana, a life energy. Users shape mana with gestures, spoken incantations, or pure willpower. Overuse drains stamina or causes backlash.

-what the ai said it can also be life threating if you over use it and also you might go insane

Magic Types:

Elemental Magic: Bound by nature's laws (fire, water, earth, wind,).

Attribute-less Magic: Versatile and flexible, including telekinesis, healing, enchantments.

Variants: Branches of elemental magic such as ice (water variant), metal (earth variant), plant (earth variant).

Deviants: Rare and unpredictable types like light, dark, lightning and chaos magic.

idk who the hell is gonna get chaos magic yet we'll see

Affinity:

Each mage has a primary affinity tied to their soul, which enhances their magical capacity in that element. Secondary affinities exist but are weaker.

-not for Ryfon the lil is just different

Gifts:

Unique powers awakened by personal events or rituals that boost or add to the mage's ability. Gifts can be offensive, defensive, or utility-based.

Limits & Costs:

Magic consumes mana and sometimes physical energy. Excessive use without rest causes mana burnout or spiritual backlash.

-already talked about gifts but this are very good try backs for the ability gifts so good job ai

man that was a lot doing this made me realize i need to pay more attention to my characters but also i need to put more effort into them i wanted to do something like this at every volume/arc ending just to refresh people memories but now that i did it it felt like it was a lot i didn't even finish the volume yet there still like 30 chapters or so idk yet but if the people reading this liked it ill do it again that all for the characters magic and gifts if you have more question then just comment if this novel ever gets famous enough to get rated ill make a discord (a guy can dream right)
