"Get in the car, I'll take you home"
Caroline said to me before entering
"Okay"I don't mind a free ride,I entered the back seat beside Caroline followed by the two bodyguards who sat on the front
"To where ma'am"
Caroline didn't talk for a while and just stared at the man then relaxing her back crossing both arms
"To Li's house"she replied before closing her eyes
How the heck do she expect the Man to know where i lived
*Sigh {she could be a pain sometimes}
"[Number 3] alone this street please"
I said to the bodyguard who is driving the car

The car then came to a halt as I have reached my destination,I then stepped out of the car
"Thank y_"
Before I could finish my sentence, Caroline also stepped out of the car
"Huh?, what are you doing"I questioned with a confused expression
"I just want to see how the Lab's doing"
"What?... don't you like, have things to attend to?"
I asked aggressively
"Nope,now if I may see your work?"
Ugh!,no,my house is a mess right now,I had no time to clean it because I was so busy
"Find! come on in…don't be surprised when you get inside
I replied opening the door before we both entered
"My work isn't finished yet"
Caroline scammed the room before replying "well,can I still see it"
{Didn't she just heard what I said}
"No, I'm still working on it…just sit down"
Li said before heading to the Lab and closing the door from the outside then offering Caroline a cup of tea she made.
Li then proceeds to putting on a channel to lighten up the mood,she then came across a specific show
The television shows a News reporter on the topic of the disease which recently broke out
Li flinched as she is being reminded of the patient she saw earlier,she instead to switch the channel but was cut off by Caroline who's sitting in the couch
"Don't,I want to see that"Caroline said calmly which made Li to drop the remote control
I stared at the TV blankly as I took a step backwards.The television showed the Ministers trying to resolve the alarmed citizens with words,followed by a group of people in white coats approaching the stage as they talked on how they will try to know how the disease came to be and a solution for it
I turned my head to see the expirationless Caroline who then receives a call
"Yes"
"Ma'am your father is asking of your whereabouts"
Caroline frown to those words before standing up
"I'll see you later"
"Okay?"I replied then switching off the television,I guess she does have things to attend to
As Caroline walked out the door,Li couldn't help but feel a sense of loneliness as she duels on the fact she was now leaving alone and not with her parents who lived outside the State

Later on that night,Li finds herself in a dream,she sees people dropping dead as their skin turns grayish,she then glanced at the sky which suddenly becomes red as she felt she was being dragged by it,Li immediately woke up
I opened my eyes to my dark room, my bed socked with sweat as my heart keeps on racing,I slowly sat up glancing at the dark sky through the window,I didn't want to get up from my bed as I felt scared,my eyes caught the time on the clock
[4:21 AM]
It's still early and I was not going to go back to sleep knowing that I might have a nightmare again,I pushed myself to get up and walked straight to the refrigerator at the living-room to get a bottle of water before heading to the Lab
{This was the only place in my house that makes me feel a little safe for some reason}
Li turns on the light, lightening up the whole room, making it feel less intimidating,she then took a sit on a wooden chair as her mind kept replaying the dream she had before she dozed off.
I woke up to myself drooling on the Lab table
{I shouldn't be sleeping like this in the lab, it's dangerous} ugh! My head hurts
I then stared at the bright light coming from the window {I don't remember having another dream apart from that one…}
I thought to myself before getting up
Immediately I received a phone call startling me in the process
"Good morning Li"
The voice greeted,I stared at my phone to see that it was Caroline who called
"Didn't we meet yesterday?, what now?!"
I replied aggressively
"Have you forgotten about the present situation?"
Her words reminded me that I was supposed to work with other scientists.
I hesitated before opening my mouth again
"Was it today?"
I now began to regret why I had agreed to the offer
"I asked my father about you last night…come to the office and we'll discuss more about"
"Kk"
I then hanged the call before sighing

Li was escorted to the main office by a secretary where she met Caroline in white shirt and jeans,a middle aged man in a suit and a few other people in coats who she assumed were scientists all sitting on a large couch.
All eyes were on Li as she nervously bowed her head greeting them
{Damn you Caroline,you didn't tell me the The 'leader' guiding the minister of Innovation and others will be here}
I gleared at Caroline who turned her head to her father
"She is the scientist I recommend to also participate in the upcoming project"
Caroline gestured
"Hello miss Li, I've heard much about you from my daughter, you can call me Hans"the man stood up shaking my hands
{He seems nice then why do Caroline frowns anytime she hear of him}
"Aha,yes it's nice to meet you…Mr. Hans"
I replied before we both took a seat
"So…can we now discuss on the issue at hand?"
The man said. Suddenly the door opened after a knock as men and women in khaki uniforms approached,each holding sniper's rifle in their hands as they all aligned horizontally
I froze to my seat in shock as I watch this enfolds
"I have employed able-body solders who will go in search for those who are infected by the disease. Though we haven't talked on what will do with them we hope that you scientists can eventually come up with a solution quickly"
Mr. Hans said boldly
"I have make agreements with the government and now they're working on a gadgets which will automatically detect the infected"
{These is all to fast, what on earth are they actually planning to do with the infected}
I looked at Caroline who's face was blank
{Does she know about this?!}.
