Seraph cursed the day she was born, the day she came into this world, just to cause the only person she loved pain and suffering. All her mother went through was all because of her, she was disowned by her mother and banished from the coven because her...the forbidden child.
She had lost everything and now, she was on her way to be executed. She knew this day would come, she knew this would happen but she didn't expect it to happen so soon. She shut her eyes, pain swallowing her as they pulled her like an outcast, a criminal which she was.
Her heart clenched as she reminisced on her life and all she had done to keep her mother safe. She stole, she killed and did everything all for her and it all went down the drain.
They reached the imposing gates of the coven and it opened welcoming her to her doom.
As they walked along the cobblestone roads, the people stared at them..well stared at Serpah, some with pity while other with disgust. They knew how cruel the queen mother could be if she wanted something and this girl had fallen into her trap.
She hated it, she hated the way they looked at her with pity, not as they cared, they would kill her and probably send her body to hell where it belongs.
"Let's shred them and burn this place to the ground." Lila growled inside me. "We can't, we're surrounded and the degron collar is on me—I can't use my powers." She answered and for the first time since she discovered Lila—her demon counter part, she was silent.
Lila was a skilled beast and could easily kill who stood in her way but right now, she could tell she felt helpless and It saddened her.
They entered in a building surrounded by guards and they greeted the guards as they pushed Seraph into the room, Caroline grinning behind. Her body fell on the ground with a loud thud, dust particles intruding her nostrils making her cough.
In front of her was an alter, made of wood but not just any wood, wood made from the wands of every queen mother that existed. She could feel the power emanating from it.
On top of the alter was a throne carved from solid gold with pattern and writings etched over it. A woman with a crown on her head was seated on it exuding an aura of elegance and grace. But Seraph could smell the danger with filled the air.
The two witches, pulled her up by hair like a slave, she gritted her teeth holding the pain. Lila growled inside and Seraph could swear that if not for the degron collar around her neck, she would burn this entire building to the ground.
Candles littered across the room, serving as the only light source, the wall was covered in photos of people and from what she could tell, these women were the Queen mothers who came before this one.
The woman sized Seraph with a smirk like a beast who had just caught his prey but Seraph didn't back down, she stared right back at her with the same intensity. The same fire in her eyes.
Was she scared? Yes
Would she show it? Never
"We've brought her Queen mother..." Caroline said with a grin, as she walked to meet the woman on the throne after bowing shortly. She seemed oddly delighted to meet Seraph, the demon who lived with the witches for years.
"Good..." She stated and turned to a male guard. "Get me the chest." She ordered and the man bowed then ran off. Seraph could visibly see Caroline bubbling from inside. It seemed like the chest they were going to bring was something she really wanted.
But what was in it?
"Seraphina, am I right?" The woman asked, with a smirk. "Yes, what do you want from me?" She snapped meeting her cold gaze with her own type of coldness. Caroline walked to where she knelt and pushed her head down. Her forehead grazed the concrete floor, scratching it lightly
"Are you insane? How dare you look into the Queen mother's eyes?" She barked, annoyance lacing her tone. Seraph snapped her gaze up. "I am not a witch, so she has no rule over me." She said eyeing Caroline up and down.
She didn't know where this boldness came from but she wanted to keep it. Her mother was dead so she had nothing to lose, they could kill her for she cared. Life wasn't worth living anymore.
"Enough Caroline." The queen ordered, her voice through the thick walls. "Throw her, in the dungeon and prepare her for execution." She said to the other guard beside her, and he bowed and walked to where Seraph knelt.
"We can't let them kill you, we have to fight.." Lila pestered and she Seraph knew she was right. Yes. Her mother was gone but she couldn't let them treat her like trash, she couldn't let them just kill her that way.
"Fine..." she muttered and closed her eyes. Immediately Lila took over, her eyes flashed a bright shade of red, her nails enlongated into claws. Long dangerous claws that could cut through anything.
Her horns peaked from her hair, the transformation was gruesome but quite interesting to watch but it was incomplete due to the zap she felt in her neck.
Damn this degron collar!
She whipped the guard across the room, her hand clutching to her neck trying to break the collar but was met with constant zaps.
Guards surrounded her, their wands at alert. They waved their wands at her, murmuring something she couldn't understand. The pain in her head intensified, all she could see was blood and fire. While trying to the pain she felt in her head, smacked them away from her.
"You..." She muttered facing Caroline. Caroline felt the colour wash from her face, her heart rate tripled, jumping in her chest.
Lila ran towards her, bearing the pain from the collar and grabbed her neck, her long claws digging into Caroline's skin, drawing blood. Caroline tried kicking and punching Lila but none was working, her gaze filled with fire, a fire that threatened to consume her.
"I'm sorry—"Caroline uttered, her life flashing before her eyes. And when Lila heard that, it reminded of Eldina, the voice was so similar to Eldina's which made her let Caroline go.
"NOW!!" Caroline rasped, rubbing her bloody neck.
Immediately the guards threw a net on her, which burned through her skin. Seraph had to transform back if she didn't want them to kill Lila. She fell to the floor and all she saw was darkness. Thick, black darkness.
