Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: It Begins-Entering Forbidden Zone #2

(Important Chapter: Contains major worldbuilding please read carefully.)

In the original storyline, the T-Virus vaccine had been hidden on the person of Dr. Alexander Isaacs.

He was the final boss of the Resident Evil world. The mastermind behind the virus outbreak. The one responsible for plunging the Earth into chaos and despair.

And Isaacs wasn't just smart. He was a powerful mutant.

Alice Abernathy, the legendary heroine of the series, had barely managed to survive their climactic battle. Only through sheer protagonist luck had she been able to seize the vaccine and fulfill her mission to save the world.

For anyone else, defeating Isaacs was nothing short of impossible.

He didn't just have overwhelming strength. He also commanded legions of mutated creatures. And standing at his side was a monstrous lieutenant.

Albert Wesker.

The villain of Resident Evil 4.

Wesker was a terrifying mutant who could slaughter ordinary humans with a flick of his wrist.

Anyone thinking of challenging Isaacs would need to go through Wesker first. And most wouldn't even make it past the front door.

But Vincent Fox was not most people.

[Name]: Vincent Fox[Species]: Human[Durability]: 209[Willpower]: 19[Strength]: 211[Agility]: 201[Lineage]: Saitama Physique (Awakened)

These were the stats Vincent had built through over two months of relentless training.

Except for Willpower, every stat was more than twenty times that of a normal human being.

Vincent was confident.

If he went all out, he could crush Isaacs without breaking a sweat.

And with a full month remaining before the mission began, he planned to train even harder and push those numbers higher.

He had already made up his mind.

He would follow the path Alice took.

He would choose Mission 3 the impossible one and save the entire Zone #2 world.

He didn't need to take this risk. With his Saitama Physique, he could become invincible just by waiting a few years.

But what Professor Charles Joe said during the briefing had caught his attention.

A random new talent would be awarded for completing Mission 3.

That changed everything.

What if the reward was Flight?

That would fix the one flaw in Saitama's otherwise perfect build.

Even if it wasn't Flight, any additional ability would be a massive win. It was worth the gamble.

Vincent was all in.

Up front, Professor Charles Joe continued his speech.

"Let's move on from Mission 3," he said. "Now we'll focus on Missions 1 and 2."

"I personally recommend Mission 1. It's the safest. All you need to do is eliminate infected creatures, primarily zombies. They're everywhere. You don't have to go looking for them. Just stay calm and keep your distance, and you'll be fine."

"Mission 2 is a rescue operation. But in an apocalyptic setting, survivors are rare. Even finding them is hard, let alone protecting them. Unless you're extraordinarily lucky or powerful, you won't make much progress."

Vincent barely heard the rest.

His mind was elsewhere.

He already knew the true background of Zone #2 better than anyone in the room.

Zone #1 had been One Punch Man.

Zone #2 was Resident Evil.

So what about the zones after that?

Would they also be worlds from his favorite stories?

It was very possible.

There was no official information on the Forbidden Zones. Every student entered blind, learning through experience and risk.

But Vincent had a cheat.

His memories.

If his theory was correct, then every Forbidden Zone would offer him a massive edge. He would be the only one who already knew how to survive, how to win, and how to break the system.

His heart pounded with anticipation.

A month passed in a flash.

The freshmen underwent intense combat training and classroom instruction. They learned the biology of zombies, the weak points of mutants, firearm basics, and escape tactics.

Their bodies toughened. Their minds sharpened.

Many felt like different people compared to when they first enrolled.

As for Vincent?

His stats skyrocketed.

Strength: over 300.Durability and Agility: both nearing 300.

His Saitama Physique was on full display. He trained every day, and his power kept growing.

In private, he tested his capabilities.

One punch could blast through a steel plate one centimeter thick.

His muscles were so dense that pistol rounds couldn't penetrate. Blades and small arms were basically useless against him. Only high-caliber military-grade weapons posed a threat.

His Agility was just as terrifying.

He could sprint 100 meters in 3.62 seconds faster than a cheetah.

He was becoming a monster in human skin.

The month of preparation was over.

It was time.

Time to enter Forbidden Zone #2 and begin the real fight for survival.

Vincent Fox cracked his knuckles and smiled.

Let the game begin.
