Lucas Moore sailed across the open sea aboard Baratie's supply boat.
His next check-in location was Loguetown.
He pulled up his personal status panel.

He skimmed through the panel before dismissing it.
When it came to Loguetown, the first name that came to Lucas's mind was none other than Gol D. Roger, the former Pirate King.
After all, Loguetown was both Roger's birthplace and the place where he met his end.
That's why it was famously known as the Town of Beginnings and Endings.
As for the most iconic landmark in Loguetown today, it had to be the execution platform in the town square—the very spot where Roger was put to death.
Roger remained a figure idolized by countless pirates.
Most pirates who set foot in Loguetown would make a point to visit the execution platform, as though paying their respects.
It was highly likely that visiting that execution site would trigger one of the check-in milestones.
Once he arrived, that would be his first stop.
As for who he might run into in Loguetown, Lucas didn't care in the slightest.
All that mattered was completing the task.
Shaking off the thought, he picked up his wine gourd and took a satisfied swig.
Before leaving Baratie, Zeff had prepared a generous stash of provisions and liquor for him.
Food and drink weren't things he needed to worry about.
Three full days passed as he drifted across the sea.
At last, on the fourth morning, an island lined with buildings came into view.
The new check-in location Loguetown—was finally here!
Lucas guided the wooden boat to shore.
The moment his feet touched solid ground, a system notification echoed in his mind.
Ding ding! Congratulations, Host, on successfully arriving at the check-in location: Loguetown. Check-in progress +10%. Current total progress: 10%.
Reward: Beginner-level Sword Technique – Divine Evasion. Armament Haki level +1. Current Armament Haki Level: Lv4.
Information about Divine Evasion instantly flooded into his mind.
Lucas's eyes lit up.
Divine Evasion was Gol D. Roger's sword technique—an aerial slash imbued with Haki that could strike past an opponent's weapon to land a direct blow on the body.
A fearsome and precise sword art.
Even though it was only at the beginner level, its power was not to be underestimated.
All in all, Lucas found the reward quite satisfactory.
He walked through the port into the town proper.
Since it was still early, the streets were relatively empty, and most shops remained closed.
Lucas strolled along the narrow, winding paths.
But the town's streets were a maze, and it didn't take long for him to get lost.
He walked down a small alley, descending a stone stairway.
Just as he was about to ask someone for directions, his eyes caught sight of a tavern named after Gol D. Roger.
Wasn't this the same bar that Luffy would visit ten years from now?
Lucas raised an eyebrow, then stepped forward without hesitation and pushed open the door.
He was nearly out of alcohol anyway. This was a good chance to resupply.
Descending the spiral stone steps, he soon reached a short wooden door leading into the underground tavern hall.
Inside, an old man with silver-white hair was setting the place up, flipping stools upright on the tables in preparation for opening.
Hearing the creak of the door, the tavern keeper turned his head.
Seeing that it was just a kid—barely ten by the looks of it—he frowned and muttered in a flat voice, "Scram, brat. This ain't a place for kids."
Lucas ignored him completely.
He pushed open the wooden door and climbed onto a barstool at the counter.
"One bottle of rum," he said casually.
This was the same rum the Pirate King once drank here.
Lucas was curious to see what it tasted like.
The old man blinked, surprised that the boy didn't leave. He stopped what he was doing and walked over in exasperation.
"Kid, do you even know how to drink?"
Lucas nodded.
The tavern keeper gave a dry chuckle.
"Do you have any money? This place doesn't serve freeloaders."
Lucas casually pulled out a handful of Berries and placed them on the counter.
The man glanced at the cash, took it without hesitation, and grabbed a random bottle of rum from the shelf behind him, placing it in front of Lucas.
"This stuff's strong," he warned. "Don't say I didn't tell you. A runt like you will be drunk after a few sips."
Lucas didn't reply.
He popped the cork and took a deep swig.
Just like the old man had warned, a wave of intense heat hit him as the strong, spicy liquor burned down his throat, leaving behind a lingering sweetness.
The tavern keeper raised his brows at Lucas's reaction and chuckled.
"How is it? Told you—this isn't something kids can handle."
Lucas lowered the bottle and smirked faintly.
"Good stuff. I'll take two more."
"…Huh?"
The tavern keeper stared at him, dumbfounded. "You sure?"
Lucas nodded and kept drinking.
Shaking his head in disbelief, the tavern keeper fetched two more bottles and placed them in front of him.
Lucas opened them both and poured the contents into his empty gourd.
Just then, footsteps echoed outside.
A tall man stepped through the door, with short silver hair, two cigars hanging from his mouth, and a long coat with the word Justice emblazoned on the back. A jitte hung across his back.
"Old man, I want a glass of rum."
That voice…
Lucas turned his head and immediately recognized him.
It was Smoker—the Marine officer stationed in Loguetown.
At this point in the timeline, Smoker still looked young, maybe in his twenties. He had probably only just graduated from the Navy academy.
His future partner, the girl who resembled Kuina, Tashigi, was likely still in school.
The tavern keeper scowled, clearly not fond of Smoker.
"Seeing your face first thing in the morning ruins my day," he grumbled. "There's no rum for you here. Get lost."
Smoker took the insult in stride, settling onto the barstool right next to Lucas, still puffing on his cigars.
"A tavern so down on its luck that even kids are drinking at the bar. Looks like this place won't be open much longer."
He glanced at Lucas, who was still pouring alcohol into his gourd, and smirked.
"Whether I close down or not is my business, not yours," the old man snapped. "No one wants you here, so get out."
"Hahaha…"
Smoker let out a hearty laugh, clearly having no intention of leaving.
Just then, the tavern door swung open.
A Navy soldier burst in, urgency written all over his face.
"There you are, Lieutenant Smoker! We've received reports of pirates at the port. Please come at once!"
Smoker immediately stood up and left without a word.
Lucas, meanwhile, finished filling his gourd and polished off the last of the rum before hopping off the barstool.
The tavern keeper looked at him.
"Heading out?"
Lucas nodded slightly, left the payment on the counter, and walked out without a word.
Just as he stepped out the door…
A boy with spiky green hair suddenly darted past him in a blur.
