Chapter 75 - Chapter 75: Deception.

Chiga pointed at a charred humanoid figure and said to Tsuru,

"That's Vergo. His true identity is a spy Doflamingo planted in the Marines. He was killed by Kaido in the recent battle."

Cora-san quickly stepped forward to confirm the truth in Chiga's words.

Actually, there was no need for Cora-san to prove it. Tsuru, Onigumo, and Yamakaji wouldn't doubt Chiga's statement. However, the somewhat aloof Onigumo stood in the back.

It wasn't suspicion that drove him, but his overthinking nature. Clarity was always better.

After introducing Vergo, Chiga pointed at the Doflamingo Family executives lying nearby. He had specifically spared them earlier.

During Kaido's Dragon Breath attack, they had somewhat regained consciousness, only to be knocked out again by Chiga's half-body Susanoo.

It wasn't compassion that led Chiga to save them. That emotion barely existed within him. To him, they were just a few decent Devil Fruits.

"Those people are the Doflamingo Family executives. When the other soldiers land, escort them onto the ship."

Tsuru didn't question why Chiga, usually cold-blooded, spared them. She simply nodded.

Seeing her cooperation, Chiga turned to leave but faltered and nearly stumbled.

Tsuru rushed forward and supported him, letting him lean his head on her shoulder. The others gathered around him quickly.

Looking at his pale face, Tsuru asked with concern,

"Are you alright? Were you injured during your fight with Kaido?"

Chiga shook his head weakly. "No, just used up too much stamina. Oh, right—this is the mission objective: the Op Op Fruit. I'm not in shape to protect it. I'll temporarily entrust it to you."

(A/N: Some would complain about him getting weak so soon. Read this chapter finish before you drop your opinion on that)

He took out the box from his Door-Door Space and handed it over.

At that moment, Onigumo stepped forward, offering to guard the fruit himself.

He believed that with Chiga weakened, it was best he personally protected such a valuable item.

Tsuru frowned. She disliked the idea of handing the fruit over to the Celestial Dragons and suspected Chiga had his own hidden plans. Would giving it to Onigumo ruin those?

As she opened her mouth to argue, Chiga suddenly said,

"That would be for the best. I believe Vice Admiral Onigumo will protect the fruit well."

His voice sounded confident. Onigumo puffed out his chest, thinking, "See? It all comes down to me."

Tsuru glanced at Chiga. Something felt off in his words, but she said nothing more.

Soon, a large group of Marines arrived, detained the Doflamingo Family, and under Tsuru's command, returned to the warship.

Tsuru helped Chiga into a room, laid him on the bed, and sat by him.

"Feeling better?"

"Still tired, but I'll be fine after a good sleep. It might be deep, though. Hopefully nothing happens while I rest."

"Alright, get some rest." Tsuru gave him a final glance and left.

After a while, sensing no movement nearby, Chiga sat up.

Despite appearing weak earlier, he moved swiftly. Clearly, his exhaustion had been an act.

He clapped his hands. "Wood Release: Wood Clone!"

(Incase you forgot, he have hashirsma cells in him. So he can use wood release)

A wooden figure formed behind him, eventually shaping into an exact replica.

Chiga rarely used clones in the world of pirates. Their strength was usually limited. But this was a Wood Clone—stronger, more realistic, and durable.

He opened his Door-Door Space and let the clone in, then commanded it to activate the Shura Fruit's ability: Hōten Zōchi (Law of Heaven, Image of Earth).

The clone's body expanded, though it didn't grow arms. Then it made a hand sign. With a puff of smoke, Kaido stood in its place.

That's right. Kaido was Chiga's scapegoat.

He originally considered Doflamingo, but the man was too crafty and weak to pull it off convincingly.

Kaido, however, was a hot-headed powerhouse. Even if he denied involvement, few would believe him. And with his pride, he wouldn't explain himself. He'd fight instead.

Even the World Government would hesitate to confront him too directly.

With preparations complete, the Door-Door Space closed. The Wood Clone, now disguised as Kaido, opened a door to the sky above the warship and stepped through.

Falling from above without slowing down, he crashed onto Onigumo's ship.

A loud thud echoed as the deck cracked. Marines rushed forward, and then it hit—an overwhelming aura.

Conqueror's Haki burst from the impact site. Soldiers around Onigumo collapsed.

His eyes narrowed. "This... is Conqueror's Haki! Could it be—"

Before he could finish, a massive figure emerged and roared,

"Hand over the Op Op Fruit, you bastards!!!"
