"Um, actually, you can call me Rosinante…"
"Huh?"
Chiga paused, then remembered that "Corazon" was the codename used within the Donquixote Family. His real name was indeed Rosinante.
"Ah, I truly was negligent, haha."
"No, no, it's just that… if I'm to resume my Navy identity, I'd like to be called by that name. Please don't take it to heart!"
Corazon, still sprawled on the ground, waved his hands nervously. Chiga was his and Law's savior—his earlier behavior had been far too rude.
In truth, Corazon could be a bit of a simpleton at times.
(We'll refer to him as Corazon going forward for familiarity.)
With that, Corazon took Chiga's hand and stood up.
Looking at the Op-Op Fruit in Chiga's hand, Corazon's eyes shimmered with longing. That fruit was the key to saving Law!
Noticing Corazon's gaze, Chiga gave a faint smile, placed the Op-Op Fruit into his Door-Door Space, and said,
"Stop staring. This fruit is a top-priority request from headquarters. Don't make this harder than it needs to be."
Corazon's shoulders slumped in disappointment. It seemed he'd have to find another way. But… did Law have the time to wait?
Chiga stepped forward and patted Corazon on the shoulder.
"Don't worry. I have a way to cure Law's illness. You don't need to dwell on the Op-Op Fruit."
"What?!"
Corazon looked at Chiga in disbelief. Could Vice Admiral Chiga really handle something this serious? But then Sengoku's voice echoed in his mind:
"You can trust Chiga completely."
Yes… At this point, he could only follow Fleet Admiral Sengoku's words and entrust everything to Vice Admiral Chiga. The man really did inspire confidence.
As Corazon slowly calmed down, Chiga gave a small smile and prepared to leave with Corazon and Law.
Just then, an enraged voice rang out from the distance—
"You damn Marine! What have you done!?"
Corazon and Law both froze. That voice was all too familiar—it was Doflamingo.
Moments later, Doflamingo appeared, but the fear that had gripped Corazon and Law earlier now began to ease.
Doflamingo didn't look good at all.
His trademark pink feather coat was torn, a circular hole exposing his bruised back. One lens of his sunglasses was shattered, and blood dripped from the corner of his mouth.
He landed, panting, glaring at Chiga with a mix of fear and rage.
He had been blasted thousands of meters away earlier by Chiga's Almighty Push. His internal organs had nearly ruptured. If he hadn't used his Devil Fruit ability to stitch himself up internally, he'd already be dead.
But with the Op-Op Fruit and several key subordinates still in danger, he'd returned as soon as he could stabilize himself. And what did he see? His subordinates knocked out and the Op-Op Fruit gone.
It drove Doflamingo to the edge of madness. He growled at Chiga,
"You must be the youngest Vice Admiral at Headquarters—Uchiha Chiga, right? I didn't expect you to arrive this early."
Chiga didn't respond. Instead, he raised his hand.
"Universal Pull."
"Damn it, not again! And now it's the opposite direction!?"
Doflamingo was yanked forward by the invisible gravitational force, flying toward Chiga at high speed. Just as he neared him, another Almighty Push sent him crashing to the ground like a ragdoll.
Blood and bits of ruptured organs spilled from Doflamingo's mouth.
This time, his injuries were far worse. He couldn't get up—he wasn't Luffy and couldn't just spring back with willpower alone.
Swish!
Chiga appeared before the fallen Doflamingo, gazing down at him indifferently.
"Earlier, I held back my strength to protect the Op-Op Fruit. And you still dared to return. I don't even know what to say."
Doflamingo, though nearly unconscious, still glared at Chiga stubbornly.
"Do you know who I am? If you kill me… you won't walk away unscathed."
"Heh."
Chiga chuckled coldly. He knew what Doflamingo meant. Since he hadn't yet become a Warlord of the Sea, he was trying to lean on his Celestial Dragon lineage.
"I don't care who you are. All I know is—you're a criminal."
With that, Chiga wrapped his fist in Armament Haki and prepared to finish Doflamingo off.
"Wait, Vice Admiral Chiga! His identity is… complicated. You shouldn't execute him here."
Chiga raised an eyebrow, looking toward the voice.
Behind him, Corazon's eyes widened in shock. He recognized the person instantly—it was Vergo, the original "Corazon" of the Donquixote Family.
"Vergo?! You're here?! You actually joined the Marines!?"
Vergo paused mid-sprint, noticing Corazon behind Chiga. He cursed inwardly. Then, activating Armament Haki, his upper body burst from his uniform, prepared for combat.
He had followed Chiga secretly, swimming behind the warship to avoid detection. As a pure brawler, his speed in the water outpaced most ships.
Chiga narrowed his eyes. He'd overlooked something—Vergo, the embedded spy.
Still, he wasn't worried.
He activated his Ascending Armament and met Vergo's strike head-on. Their fists clashed—and Vergo instantly recoiled.
Pain surged through Vergo's arm. It was broken.
"I nearly forgot about you, rat. You can stay down too."
Chiga's voice was ice-cold.
Bang!
He kicked Vergo squarely in the gut. The man collapsed, unconscious.
Returning to Doflamingo, Chiga muttered,
"One pest down. Now for you."
But just then, an oppressive force swept across the land.
Corazon and Law fainted instantly.
"…What is this?"
Chiga stopped and looked toward the sky.
The heavens had gone dark. A massive figure loomed high above the clouds—a silhouette resembling a colossal dragon.
Chiga's eyes narrowed.
"A Yonko… Kaido of the Beasts."
