He walked straight to the room, looking at her intently, as if he could never get enough of her.
Thump, thump.
When Luo laid her on the bed, counting his rapid heartbeat, she could only take stiff, deep breaths. Her dark eyes stared at him wide-eyed, her expression as helpless as a lamb awaiting slaughter.
"Oh? Giving in so quickly? I thought even the usually docile little rabbit would put up a fight." He spoke with hidden meaning, teasing her helpless shyness.
"I'm tired, I have no strength… I want to sleep." Ivina said, then closed her eyes and tried to sleep. In truth, she was annoyed with herself for not having improved her ability to make excuses.
"I see." He gently smoothed her slightly disheveled hair, nodded thoughtfully, then turned and left.
After some time, once she was sure he had gone, Ivina quietly opened her eyes.
But her heart skipped a beat.
A passionate kiss descended from above, testing her unguarded, primal reaction. She didn't refuse his caresses, or perhaps she had never even considered it.
Hugging, kissing, she slowly lowered her defenses against his love... sinking into the sea of desire. If this continued, what would happen? She didn't know.
A terrifying thought once again knocked at her heart. Could a vampire and a human achieve perfect love? The answer to this question was so profound that it made her dizzy.
Her arms, crossed around Luo's neck, hesitated slightly in refusal. Luo did not force her and stopped at the right moment. This was his intention; he did not want to taste all of her sweetness at once.
"Since you don't want me to leave, why pretend to be asleep?" His hands began to twirl her black hair, the question sounding casual.
Seeing she didn't respond, he pressed his body against hers.
"Are you really tired?"
She nodded, nearly unable to breathe under his weight.
"Alright, humans are indeed a species with limited physical strength. Rest well." He raised an eyebrow, his deep gray eyes gazing at her with tenderness.
Ivina lowered her eyelids, and when the vast space was once again empty except for her alone, she slowly sat up, her black hair lying smoothly along her shoulders.
Her heart beat uneasily.
If she hadn't refused Luo Tianrou's embrace just now, how would things be different now?
She loved Luo; she was certain of that.
But if he had truly embraced her... she sensed that some things would become irreversible, and she would no longer be able to change them by her own will.
At that point, she would be afraid.
"Ivina." Outside the door, Xia Sang stood there holding a cup of tea.
Her face was shrouded in darkness, as if obscured by swirling black mist, her expression indistinguishable.
Ivina's heart jumped, and she instinctively tensed her body.
She suddenly realized—where had Xia Sang been all this time?
