Chapter 30 - 472

After being shown off in an unexpected place, Conan was a bit confused.

Conan felt that familiar yet unfamiliar sensation again as he watched Senichi step into the house.

Every time he thought he understood Detective Senichi well enough, the other person would reveal a new side, slapping him in the face metaphorically and refreshing his understanding.

Can't see through him.

Even though they had spent so much time and experienced numerous events together, Conan still couldn't see through him.

It's really Mysterious; there seemed to be thick fog shrouding him. When you thought you could see clearly, the fog would appear again.

But as a teammate, Senichi was undoubtedly reliable.

After shaking his head to clear his mind, Conan entered the villa with Senichi and they were both wearing gloves and shoe covers.

Their search didn't take too long. They easily found the CD they were looking for in the drawer under the computer desk.

"A deliberately planned scheme," Senichi said while looking at the disk in his hand. "The so-called 'the most dangerous place is the safest.'"

"Ah, I'm afraid those guys from the Black Organization didn't expect such an important software program to be casually placed in the open"

Conan smiled and said. "Mr. Itakura probably prepared it for his escape. When the email is not received, and no one shows up for the transaction.

Those guys from the Black Organization will definitely come here to investigate his whereabouts. Then, they can see the arrangements left by Itakura and understand his thoughts."

"Too naive."

Senichi looked at the computer's boot screen and commented, "Thinking that by returning their reward and handing over the program developed during this time, he can escape unscathed, and they'll spare him?"

Provoking those guys was like stepping into hell. Even if you want to withdraw, those devils won't spare a delicious soul.

Even if he doesn't want the reward and just improved a part of the program a bit for free. Those guys won't spare Itakura because of that.

Itakura probably wouldn't have had many good days left even without encountering the previous incident.

Given the nature of the Black Organization, if you are of great use, they'll catch you and force you to work.

If you cooperate, it's fine; But if you don't, then be prepared to receive your pack up call.

If you cooperate honestly, your fate might just be a life of being exploited, even worse than Haibara's treatment.

After all, Haibara is at least a second-generation "legitimate successor" of black organization, and even with such status, she still ended up in such a miserable situation. Do you really expect any better treatment, especially as someone with doubtful loyalty?

Perhaps, once the program is completed, the only outcome waiting for him was being disposed of.

As the computer opened, Conan operated it to open the email-receiving software on the desktop with an expectant expression.

"Next, we just need to wait for them to send the transaction location..."

"I think it's best not to hold too much hope. Be prepared early," Senichi interjected and poured cold water on Conan, "There's a good chance that the email won't be visible."

Conan was momentarily stunned upon hearing this, then he seemed to realize something and his face turned grim, "You're right. We can't afford to be unprepared against that organization."

"So, our next step is to plan for what to do if we can't receive the email," Senichi smiled slightly and glanced at his watch, "Luckily, we still have time."

...

Inside the pitch-black villa.

Because the two entered without permission, no lights inside the villa were turned on except for the computer. The only light source in the dark villa was the faint glow from the computer screen.

In the snowy environment outside the window, this massive villa seemed exceptionally cold.

Fortunately, both of them were dressed warmly and were temporarily able to resist the cold.

They quietly stared at the screen and watched the time in the bottom right corner gradually change to "00:00."

With the ticking of time, a dialog box popped up on the computer screen, indicating an email waiting to be received.

"Yes! It finally came!" Conan's gaze was not excited but calm. He operated the mouse to click on "accept."

But the next moment, the email didn't appear. Instead, a black square page appeared on the computer screen with the English words "PASSWORD?" on top, and below it was a number "10."

"Password?" Conan sighed as he looked at the screen. "As expected, the email is set to disappear if it couldn't be opened."

Although the number kept changing, Conan remained calm at the sight of this scene. "For that organization, this kind of precaution is inevitable. Probably, the password was given to Itakura. We never had a chance to open the email from the beginning."

His sigh was not just for the inability to receive the email; with Senichi's reminder, he had long prepared himself mentally. This situation was within his expectations.

What truly made him sigh was Senichi's once again surpassing his judgment by a wide margin. However, the small heart that had been tormented had already grown accustomed to it.

Plus, the current situation didn't allow Conan much room for thoughts. He could only retract his thoughts and continue to focus his gaze on the computer screen.

They remained silent without any movement while watching the numbers on the screen steadily decreasing.

Especially in a situation with no hints and just 10 seconds, it was impossible to know the correct answer. So, the inevitable outcome was that it couldn't be opened.

As the number displayed "0," the email disappeared directly.

"Now, let's wait and see," Senichi also tensed up. "But we can't stay here for more than ten minutes. After all, they must have noticed that someone is using this computer. The guys from the Black Organization could come at any moment."

Although Senichi knew the plot and knew that later, Vodka, the silly one, would call to inquire about the situation. But the involvement of this "mysterious person" in the early stages of the plot had led to significant changes in the storyline.

The Black Organization probably still thought that there was an organization behind the scenes targeting them.

At this moment, if Itakura didn't enter the correct password, would the Black Organization think that the organization targeting them had come knocking and would they send a large number of members over here? It was not entirely impossible.

The brief tranquility in the room after the disappearance of the email lasted only a moment before it was shattered by the piercing sound of the telephone.

They exchanged glances and Senichi gestured to answer the call. Conan nodded and answered the phone with the preadjusted voice changer.

The next moment, the phone transmitted a man's unceremonious and rough voice.
