Su Xiao thought for a while and added.
"After it's done raining, you go into the bush and find some bamboo trees to make another cart for you both to sleep in".
Li Tuo was dumbfounded. She wanted to make a cart for them to sleep in? He was so touched that he started crying.
"Rest assured Mrs, we will do a very good job. Thank you for taking us in!"
Su Xiao waved at him to go. After giving him some instructions she got off the cart and went to the one Shi Dong was inside. She checked on him and found him stirring to wake up. She went inside and helped him sit up only for him to look at her with disgust.
"Please Miss Su, respect your self and call my wife"
Su Xiao rolled her eyes at him. She had forgotten that in this era, such things were seen as a sign of a promiscuous woman. Not looking at him she got off the cart and called Bai Ling who was drying her clothes.
"Sister Bai, your husband is awake!"
Bai Ling dropped the cloth in her hand and ran into the cart. Soon, she heard relieved sighs and sobs. She walked away from them and headed to the fireplace where Mu Wei and the kids were seated. She sat down and ruffled Mu Chen's hair and he giggled. Mu Yu feeling left out also came closer and they both leaned on her.
Mu Wei looked at the scene and felt sour. She didn't even look at him more than necessary. And those two brats, they used to depend on him so much but now, they had abandoned him. He cleared his throat and asked.
"What's your next plan?"
"I plan to enter the next town to sell the Lion skin and use the money to buy some food and necessities"
"Hm"
Mu Wei looked at the woman who was radiating a gentle aura as she played with the kids. She probably didn't realize that her maternal love was overflowing. He wondered where she came from and what she did there before.
He had confirmed his suspicion that she wasn't Su Xiao but he didn't care. At first he thought she had ulterior motives for helping them but she proved them wrong. Since she has come then she shouldn't think of ever leaving.

As they seated, Bai Ling approached them and sat down too.
"Thank you Xiao'er for saving my husband. I also apologize for how he had reacted to you"
Su Xiao nodded in acknowledgement and the atmosphere grew quiet before she broke it again.
"I plan to let the two boys stay with us"
Mu Wei said nothing. From what he had understood about her, she wasn't someone that did something without a reason and as expected she continued.
"They will be our coach man to we reach the wilderness. I plan to build two more cart tomorrow for them. They sleep in one and the other I use for treating patients"
It was a feasible idea. The thought that she considered his opinion made him feel giddy inside. He remained calm and expressed his thoughts.
"The plan is good. When you build the new cart, Bai Ling can push the empty one and I will push the one with the kids in it".
"You will go with the empty one. You're not allowed to do any strenuous job. By the way, I haven't bought any animal to drag the cart or it would have been easier to just ride it"
It was indeed a good idea so everyone agreed. In the cart, Li Tuo laid besides his brother and slept off. He was awoken by someone touching him, opening his eyes he saw that his brother was awake. He immediately sobered up and asked.
"You're awake! How do you feel now?"
"I'm fine brother. What happened?"
Feeling relieved, he explained everything that happened while he was unconscious.
"Li Gu when you're able to stand up the we must thank boss Su!"
Li Gu was still skeptical about his brother's words. His older brother was too honest for his own good unlike him. He couldn't believe that she just needed them to be her coach man. What if she asked for more?
"Are you hiding something from me, brother?
"Of course not.You're thinking too much about this. Boss Su is not that type of person"
Half believing and half doubting, he laid down and went back to sleep. Back at the fireplace, Su Xiao took the sleeping kids into the cart and laid them before laying by their side. She thought of what they would eat tomorrow but couldn't think of anything. She had a lot of supplies in her space but no way to bring it out. She could make use of going on the bush tomorrow to take out a rabbit.
As she thought about it, she fell asleep and soon her even breathing was heard. The sound of the pattering rain on the fall and the cold weather made her fall into in slumber and she slept deeply. With nothing to do, everyone retired to the cart and fell asleep.
Bai Ling joined them in the cart, while Mu Wei went into the cart with Shi Dong and the boys sleeping together. Shi Dong was awake and lost in thoughts about what his wife had told him about Su Xiao. His wife observation was always correct but he felt hesitant. As he was pondering, Mu Wei opened the curtain and walked climbed in.
"What are you thinking about?"
Shi Dong glanced at the two young boys and saw they were truly asleep before he replied
"My Lord, I suspect that Su Xiao has ulterior motives"
Mu Wei's gaze sharpened as he looked at him.
"She has no motives or she would have left you to die. She is my wife and I won't tolerate you showing her any disrespect"
Shi Dong felt embarrassed and guilty after being scolded by Mu Wei. It was true that she could have not saved him and left him to die but she did. She even fed him and his wife without complaints. Thinking of all this, he realized he was being petty and narrow minded.
"You're right, my Lord. I was ignorant and short sighted. From now, I promise that treat her as I treat you"
Mu Wei's gaze softened and he nodded.
"As long as you know your mistakes. Get some sleep, we have a far journey ahead of us".
Shi Dong adjusted himself and laid down. Mu Wei continued his sitting position but with his eyes closed. His gaze was unfathomable as he sat down with thoughts about their future running in his mind. After a while, he adjusted and also laid down to sleep.
