Chapter 16 - 16 The Crimson Star

The Crimson Moon had risen.

Winds howled through the valley, shaking trees and whispering secrets of war. Everyone could feel it — a storm was coming. The prophecy had awakened.

And so had Viana.

She stood on the cliffs, hair flowing like wild fire, eyes glowing silver and red — the colors of her bloodline. Behind her stood her parents, Vikram and Ahaana, battle-worn but strong. And beside her, always, was Rayen.

Below, in the forest, a legion of Hunters marched. Led by **Kael**, the fallen vampire prince, draped in armor made from bones of creatures he had slaughtered. His black sword pulsed with dark energy.

Tonight, Kael had only one goal: kill the hybrid.

---

**Hours earlier**, Viana stood inside the ancient temple carved into the mountain — the same one from the prophecy mural. The seer's chamber had been silent for centuries. Until now.

The walls glowed red as Idran began the Awakening ritual.

"You will face your fears," he warned. "Your pain, your rage, your loneliness. And if you survive, you will rise."

Viana stepped into the circle of blood and moonlight.

Her body shook. Her heart raced.

Then the world went black.

---

**In her vision**, Viana stood in a memory — her own — but twisted. She saw herself as a child, crying alone in the woods. No one came. She saw her claws tear through trees. Her fangs bite into shadows. She saw herself turn into a monster.

Then her mother appeared — fierce, beautiful, loving.

"You are not a monster," Ahaana whispered.

Then her father appeared — wise, patient, brave.

"You are our miracle."

Then came **Kael**, eyes full of fire.

"You are a curse," he hissed.

"No," Viana said. "I am the cure."

And suddenly, the vision shattered.

Light burst from her chest.

The two halves of her — vampire and werewolf — stopped fighting.

They danced.

They merged.

She opened her eyes. Glowing. Complete.

---

Back in the real world, thunder cracked above Kaligard. Kael and his army had reached the village.

Rayen stood at the frontlines with the other protectors. Ahaana shifted into her wolf form — tall, silver, deadly. Vikram's eyes turned crimson as he unsheathed his ancient sword.

And then—Viana stepped into view.

Kael froze.

"So the Crimson Star shines," he sneered. "Let's see how long it lasts."

The battle exploded.

Claws tore into steel. Fangs met fire. Spells shattered the air.

Kael fought his way to Viana, sword raised.

"You should never have been born!" he screamed.

Viana blocked his strike with her bare hand, her eyes burning with calm fire.

"No," she said. "I was born for this."

Their fight shook the earth. Viana moved like wind and shadow, her hybrid strength matching his fury. Kael was strong. But she was stronger.

In one final moment, she channeled every part of her — vampire speed, werewolf rage, human heart — and unleashed a cry that echoed through the mountains.

Kael stumbled.

She struck.

His sword shattered.

His body fell.

The war ended.

---

Later, the village was quiet again.

Rayen sat beside Viana by the same lake they always came to.

"You ended the prophecy," he whispered.

"No," she said softly, "I fulfilled it."

Ahaana and Vikram approached, their eyes proud and wet with tears.

"You saved everyone," Vikram said, putting his hand on her shoulder.

"No," Viana said with a smile. "We did. All of us."

She looked at the sky — the Crimson Moon now pale and fading.

"Maybe now… we can be free."

---

Years later, children in Kaligard would whisper tales of the Crimson Star — a girl who carried both the night and the wild in her blood, who stood between light and darkness, and chose love.

But in a quiet cottage deep in the valley, Viana lived a simple life.

Helping. Healing. Protecting.

Just like her parents had once done.

She wasn't a prophecy anymore.

She was a person.

She was **Viana**.

And she was finally home.
