Chapter: Pajamas, Pancakes, and Promises
The red flash was gone before I could blink.
I stared at my phone, waiting for it to happen again. Nothing. Just a very normal, very innocent group chat notification from Jake arguing with Kim about whether her jellyfish dream meant anything.
I let out a breath. "Okay. Not panicking. Just a weird screen glitch. Totally normal psychic girl thing."
I tucked my phone under my pillow and flopped back onto my bed.
Of course, that's exactly when my bedroom door opened.
"I brought food," came Julian's voice, light and cheery.
I sat up so fast I hit my head on the wall. "Ow—what?! Julian! You—how are you in here?"
He stood at the doorway holding a tray like a very smug, very handsome breakfast ghost. "Charley let me in. He told me to feed you because you 'looked like a starved marshmallow.' His words, not mine."
I groaned into my pillow. "I'm going to strangle him."
