Chapter 55 - Chapter 55: The Elemental Transformer

He couldn't help but feel delighted.

Gu Ning quickly checked the item's information again, just to be sure he hadn't made a mistake.

Element Converter (Purple): Insert items containing elemental energy to convert them into corresponding elemental gems or special purple crystals.Note: Converting to purple crystals will waste more energy.

After confirming the information, Gu Ning hugged Huohuo tightly, rubbing his forehead against the little one's, and said with a smile, "Little guy, now we've got a solution for your food! You're truly blessed!"

Gu Ning was genuinely happy.

Just a moment ago, he had been worrying about how to support Huohuo's growth. He hadn't expected to find the answer so soon!

It would certainly be easier to obtain low-quality items containing fire elements than it would be to collect gems or purple crystals.

In the future, he could just buy up those low-quality fire-element items and use the converter to produce purple crystals, ensuring Huohuo's growth.

He also wondered whether the elemental gems could help Huohuo grow—he'd have to test that when he got his hands on some.

Gu Ning thought for a moment.

At the moment, he didn't have any elemental items to try it out. Otherwise, he'd definitely give it a go right now.

Deciding to set it aside for the time being, Gu Ning planned to place the converter into his core cabin the next day. That's where he kept most of the items he couldn't use immediately.

Finally, Gu Ning took out a Talent Orb.

Talent Orb (Green): Use to gain a random talent.

This wasn't something he could use himself, nor would he need it for a long time. Better to try his transformation talent on it—maybe he'd get something better.

To be honest, Gu Ning was quite excited. His transformation talent had been the greatest boost to his progress so far.

Transform.

The Talent Orb in his hand changed.

Mutated Wood Element Talent Orb (Blue): Using this will positively mutate a wood-element-related talent, with a very small chance of upgrading it.Note: This item only works on excellent-level or lower talents due to its quality limitation.

Gu Ning felt a bit disappointed when he saw the info. The item seemed powerful, sure, but it was completely useless to him.

He had been hoping for something that could upgrade his talent's quality—maybe even push it to legendary level—but instead he got a mutation orb.

And with so many restrictions too.

Sigh. Gu Ning sighed inwardly. He figured he'd try to trade it later. But he wouldn't just swap it for white stones—those were the least valuable thing to him now. He needed to trade it for something worthwhile.

After putting everything away, Gu Ning planned to wait until the end of the week to post his trade offer on the channel—better chances of getting a good deal that way.

For now, his day's work was done.

Next, it was time to focus on making ice blocks.

Gu Ning spent his time producing ice blocks, competing in the arena when his mana ran out, then returning to crafting ice. The cycle repeated.

Time passed, and dawn broke.

As soon as the first rays of light appeared, Gu Ning felt the scorching heat. Even his cooler couldn't do much against it!

In no time, his clothes were soaked with sweat and clinging to him.

He couldn't take it anymore—it was impossible to work outside in these conditions.

Gu Ning checked his cooler.

He spent some white stones to buy a batch of materials and upgraded the cooler to its max level—level 12.

At level 12, it could lower the temperature by 22 degrees. In the last few levels, each upgrade added another 2 degrees of cooling.

Only now did Gu Ning feel a bit better, though it was still too hot to stay outdoors for long.

No way the villagers could go fishing today. He'd have them bring water inside instead, and he'd make ice indoors.

Gu Ning planned out his day.

Just then, Windsor walked over and sat on the bench beside him. Looking at Gu Ning, she said, "Ning, aren't you tired? Why don't you rest for a bit? I'll wake you up later."

Gu Ning patted his thigh and beckoned to Windsor.

Windsor gave him a playful glare but still got up, picked up Huohuo, and sat sideways on Gu Ning's lap.

"It's so hot today, and you're still asking me to sit here. Aren't you uncomfortable?" Windsor poked Gu Ning's forehead with her finger.

Gu Ning chuckled, kissed her soft lips, and said, "I can't help it—you're too irresistible. A bit of suffering is worth it."

Windsor felt happy hearing that but didn't show it. Instead, she gently pinched Gu Ning's side.

"I knew you had designs on me the first day we met. But I didn't expect you to be such a lecher!" Windsor rolled her eyes. "What, do you want me and Darkmoon to serve you together someday?"

"Sigh, I wish—but Darkmoon won't agree." Gu Ning sighed, looking helpless.

Seeing his shameless expression, Windsor actually felt a bit annoyed.

"Even if Darkmoon agreed, I wouldn't!" Windsor turned her head away, pretending to be angry.

Gu Ning knew Windsor too well. He turned her head back and kissed her deeply. At first she resisted, but soon she melted into it.

"You're always bullying me," Windsor said, breathless.

"You're the best," Gu Ning said, holding her soft, delicate hands.

He knew how much Windsor cared for him—and how tolerant she was of him.

"Hmph!" Windsor snorted. "Let me go. It's too hot!"

Feeling Gu Ning's reaction beneath her, Windsor's face turned even redder.

That long kiss had stirred her feelings, and she left quickly to avoid any further embarrassment.

Gu Ning didn't stop her. Instead, he handed her a fishing rod. "Quick, let's use up today's attempts before it gets even hotter!"

Windsor nodded.

By the time the sun was fully out, Windsor had used up her three daily fishing attempts.

She handed the items she'd caught to Gu Ning, but as he turned to take them, he froze.

Because of the heat, Windsor's dress was soaked and clung tightly to her, perfectly outlining her curvy figure.

She looked stunning.

Gu Ning felt parched just looking at her.

Seeing his gaze, Windsor realized what was happening. Blushing, she was about to dry her clothes magically.

"Wait!" Gu Ning quickly stopped her.

And before she could react, he scooped her up with a soft yelp from Windsor, carrying her toward the core cabin.
