Sophia, a woman with sharp blue eyes and flowing blonde hair, looked to be around Hailey's age—twenty-eight. Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
She was decked out in diamonds, with rings on nearly every finger, as though she were auditioning for Lord of the Rings.
Her hair was styled to perfection—Hailey had to admit the woman was gorgeous. But her attitude? That needed a serious overhaul.
Sophia's hands clenched tightly on the table, her jaw flexing with silent fury.
"Sophia was once Killian's girlfriend," Roman replied.
Hailey didn't react. Her heart leaped, thinking that Killian's ex-girlfriend was sitting right opposite her.
'That explains the snarky attitude she'd been giving me,' Hailey thought.
"You didn't mention you would be inviting Sophia to our family dinner," Killian spoke this time around, looking directly at his father.
