Chapter 90 - Chapter 6: Ash and Glass

"Mirrors do not lie. They only reflect what you refuse to see."

---

POV 1 – Kaien

Location: Neo-Shanghai, Post-Breach Zone

Kaien stood amidst broken glass and blood-stained streets. Drones whirred overhead, scanning for residual spiritual flux. The sky glowed with sickly twilight—a side effect of the void rupture.

> "Zone 7 secured," murmured an officer from the League's modern task force. "Sovereign bearer Kaien neutralized the anomaly."

But Kaien didn't feel victorious.

The girl who had smiled at him earlier… now sat shaking beside her unconscious mother. Her eyes were silvered.

> "Don't look in the mirrors, Mom said," she whispered. "But I did. And then I saw… everything I feared."

Kaien knelt beside her. His pendant pulsed warmly.

> "You're safe now."

> "Will he come back?" she asked.

Kaien didn't answer.

---

POV 2 – Kai'en (Mirror Child)

Location: Subdimensional Breach: The First Reflection

The Mirror Child hovered in a cracked dimension made of shattered cities and endless looking-glass plains. Floating fragments reflected futures that never happened.

He stared into one.

> In it, Kaien knelt beside a broken world. Alone.

Kai'en clenched his fists.

> "They call you savior. Hero. Heaven Breaker reborn."

He touched the obsidian mirror in front of him. His reflection grinned—but it wasn't his own.

It was Wang Chung… but twisted. Cold. Empty-eyed.

> "You were always incomplete," it said.

Kai'en laughed hollowly.

> "That's why I'll finish you."

Behind him, Xue Yiran, the Void Empress, emerged from the mirror mist. Her robes trailed black lotus petals.

> "Begin the First Reflection."

Kai'en raised his hand.

> "As you wish… Mother."

Scene Transition — The Mirror Spreads

Back in the real world, across Neo-Shanghai, screens cracked.

Mirrors warped.

People paused at their phones, tablets, windows—only to see themselves, smiling wrong.

And then—they were pulled in.

Kaien's communicator flared.

> Sun Mei (holographic): "The Mirror Realm is breaking through. Kai'en has turned every reflective surface into a gateway. You must find the anchor."

> "Where is it?"

> "Downtown Core. Glass Garden Tower."

Kaien launched into the air, flames trailing from his feet like wings.

---

Scene 3 – Glass Garden Tower: The Heart of Illusion

The tower rose like a blade of crystal. Every surface glinted—each shard a doorway into a nightmare.

Kaien flew in—and immediately found himself standing in the ruins of the past.

The old Sky Temple, burning.

Wang Chung lay dying again.

Yu Meilan reached for him—but turned to ash.

Kaien clutched his head. "This isn't real."

> Kai'en's voice echoed: "It is if you believe it."

> "What is this place?"

> "A mirror made from your regrets."

Flames burst around Kaien—but they flickered, distorted by doubt.

> "You can't burn what you refuse to face," Kai'en taunted, stepping out from a shard.

> "Then let's face it together."

Kaien struck. Kai'en countered.

Flame against flame.

Light against dark.

But their moves mirrored each other, canceling out perfectly. A stalemate of destiny.

---

Final Scene — Breaking the Mirror

Kaien suddenly closed his eyes.

Instead of fighting—he reached inward. To Wang Chung's flame. Not to use it.

But to understand it.

The fire within him warmed—not burned. It became light.

And when Kaien opened his eyes, he whispered:

> "Flames don't just destroy. They illuminate."

He raised his hand—and released a pulse of golden fire. Not an attack.

A truth.

The mirror around them cracked… and shattered.

Kai'en screamed as the realm collapsed. He was dragged back into the void, snarling:

> "Next time… you'll beg to trade places."

---

Scene End — The World Reacts

Across the city, the illusions vanished.

Citizens fell to their knees, trembling. Some wept.

News drones captured the moment.

> "The Flame has returned. But with it… something darker. A war of mirrors and fire begins."

Kaien stood atop the tower, cloak whipping in the wind, eyes locked on the horizon.

> "He won't stop. So I won't either."
