Interview
Wednesday morning, Lucius restlessly worried about the interview that's about to happen in 2 hours,
Both his sisters already went out for work and school, they already help him preparing anything night before the interview,
Sitting in front of the small round table they always used for everything, he seated with his back facing the wall,
They just change the lights for the room, to the brighter ones so the other side can see his face clearly,
He wore a formal woman suit, a white blouse topped with a navy blue blazer, he even wore the matching color straight leg trousers,
Even though they might not see his full body from the web camera, he just feels going all out is the best courtesy for the interview.
A script for every possible question and answer is laid in front of him on the table, reviewing it again and again for the last hour after Eve and Sophia departed.
'Damn.. This is really nerve wracking!, huft.. What should i do?? I can't let my anxiety take over like this… uh.. Emm..
Ah! Let's watch a funny cat videos or something similar to calm myself, alright let's do it maybe for one hour,
Then I'll review the script again in the last hour,
Yeah this is good'
It appears to be working for him, watching a cat videos on Y*oTube make him forget the anxiety from the interview,
He already set the alarm for exactly one hour before the interview so he didn't forget the time,
After all indulging on short funny videos often make him forgot the times he used,
After about thirty minutes of watching the video from the laptop, a notifications from his phone appears, a message from Edward,
After seeing the screen he immediately opened the phone, inside it he can see that Edward is asking about the interview, also giving his encouragement.
Edward knows this because just yesterday Lucius told him about the interview and asked for luck from Edward, also an advice for that as well.
Lucius replied to the message as he usually does and threw a banter to further calm himself down.
As Edward also has a morning class he can't keep the message for long, so Lucius is alone once again.
But he already got a lot of confidence and determination, so he decided to review the script again and trained his speech,
As the cat videos still playing he closed the tab and focused reviewing the script,
The alarm for one hour before the interview already long went off,
So when the designated time for interview almost here, he got a notification from his phone,
A message from the chief of researchers, he told Lucius to enter the link he sent and prepared for the interview,
He joined the link, immediately he see a handsome middle age man sitting in front of the table, there's two more vacant seat besides him,
The camera is located about 2 meters in front of the table, simulating the interviewee's place in front of the interviewer.
Seeing the man, Lucius immediately know that he's chief researcher Song Im-Hyun, with a slight bow while seated Lucius greeted him,
"Good morning Sir, finally nice to meet you sir"
Song Im-Hyun smiled, he radiates a confidence, calm and commanding atmosphere, like those chaebol from K-drama he sometimes see,
"Good morning miss Lucia, ah actually it's almost lunch time for me here haha, anyway i finally can see your face clearly, nice to meet you,
We'll start the interview in 15 minutes, still waiting for the president of M.P.T.A Research Center of korean branch, also the representative from the parents organization,
So in the meantime, please make yourself comfortable"
Answering immediately Lucius slightly bowed his head,
"Ah yes thank you sir, umm sir, what should i call you sir?
Chief Song?"
Chief Song nodded,
"Yes, you can call me Chief Song, for the president you can call him president Kang, and for the representative, representative Marcus,
Ah, there they're"
A sound of door opened can be heard, Chief Song immediately get up from the seat, from the side two man can be seen walk towards the table,
One is a Caucasian man with a dark blond hair, his serious face combined with tall and toned body further enhanced his intimidating vibe,
That one must be the representative Marcus.
The other one is a Korean man with almost the same atmosphere and vibe as chief Song, but his serious and toned face make a huge difference between the two.
He must be The president of the Korean branch, President Kang.
Chief Song greeted the two man professionally, shaking both hands,
After everyone seated, Chief Song face the camera again with said,
"Let's began the interview"
Lucius straightened his back,
"Yes sir"
The interview started, with a formal greetings and introduction, followed with the first question,
Chief Song asking the first question,
"Okay Interviewee Lucia, please explain about yourself"
Because Lucius already trained for this question, he can easily answered the question,
He explain about his original identity, current life situation, and how he got the power,
He began to tensed because of the atmosphere, it's so serious that he can feel a cold sweat coming from his back,
"Alright, so you told us that you experienced a gender change because of the transformation power, and it is related to the curse you received from the traits,
Do you tell the truth?, please give us solid evidence that support your statement"
Lucius already took a family photo of he, Eve and Sophia together yesterday, the old family photo also ready in his hand,
Complete with a photo of a birthmark that is still present on his body, he even recorded a video of Sophia explaining and telling the story when the transformation took place, as a witness.
In the photos, everyone can see a similarity between his old self and his new appearance, also his current appearance and facial features actually has a similarity with Sophia.
President Kang asked after seeing the evidence, trying to get a better look,
"Can you send me the photos and videos?"
Hearing that, Lucius immediately sends the files.
Three of them looked at the photos and the videos with a tablet, discussing the authenticity.
President Kang facing the camera and asking with a serious expressions,
"Are you sure this is all authentic?, you don't happen to lie about yourself right?, as we won't tolerate any means to deceive us"
Lucius gulped, he answered with a straight face, a fear in his eyes,
"Yes, I swear to God that I never lied before you from start to finish"
Two men gave him 'or from their perspective 'her'' a doubtful look, except the Chief Song, he actually smiled and put down the tablet, facing the camera.
Chief Song with a confidence expression give a suggestion,
"President Kang, Representative Marcus, how about we take DNA samples of Miss Lucia and her siblings, surely if she tell us the truth they should be related to each other"
Both men look at Chief Song, President Kang nodded, but the Representative Marcus immediately asked,
"I agree with the DNA test, but for that to happen we have to send your team to take the sample as 'he' is live in Indonesia,
The higher up are waiting for the final draft for who passed the interview before Sunday,
As the time are tight here, we have to finish it in three days,
So gentleman please do it fast for our success"
Contrary with his look, representative Marcus actually a soft spoken man, but not the type that have a slay in their voice,
His voice is deep, rich, and clear, he also never raises his tone whenever he speaks.
President Kang and Chief Song both nodded, Chief Song immediately told Lucius that they will postponed the interview,
"Miss Lucia I'm sorry, but we have to wait for the test before continuing the interview,
We will send our agents to your place, they'll take a sample of your DNA and your sisters DNA,
If the time is right, they should arrive at your place tomorrow morning, so please prepare a sample of hair, saliva, and hair with the root still attached,
Do you have any questions? Before we close the interview?"
Lucius doesn't know he even passed the interview, but he knows that asking now might appear rude or impatient.
So with a heavy heart, Lucius shake head and answered,
"I do not have any questions Chief"
Chief Song nodded, he looked at President Kang and Representative Marcus before saying,
"Alright, see you again in Saturday Morning, thanks for joining"
The web call ended with that, everyone is right when they said 'life is unpredictable', that phrase actually resonates strongly with Lucius' own life.
"Sigh… I guess it's not that easy huh.."
In his thoughts, Lucius pondered about what's next,
'Well at least my chance still there, so when they got the DNA test done, i hope i can finally leave this country and get a new identity,
Especially when the deadline for self report for awakened is imminent'
Because the interview are postponed, Lucius went to change his clothes,
Then informed his sisters and Edward too, about the postponement of the interview, and about the DNA test too.
Getting into more comfortable clothes, he uses his time to search in the web market for possible clothes that he can wear with his wings summoned.
Actually a lot of possible clothes appear, it just that Lucius need to be bold enough to wear about half of them,
There's no androgynous clothes that have a hole or open back option, so he has to really accept his terms with using more feminine clothes.
Well not that he can't, but he prefers to avoid ones if possible.
'Hmmm, maybe making or modifying one myself is actually viable here..
As i have some experiences with sewing machine back in high school for class assignment,
But who has a sewing machine??, do I even have enough time to make one?'
He never overestimates himself, so he doesn't get his hopes high with custom clothes for himself, maybe asking from a professional might be better.
'Yeah.. Why do I need to make one myself when I can just call a professional to make one for me?
But i have to wait for the DNA test for now, maybe I'll go making custom order after the agents from the organization done taking the samples'
Because there's almost no activities he can do outside, he just does the usual training of getting used to his wings.
So his day just gone like that, of course he went after preparing the sample for DNA test, especially his sisters samples,
Because tomorrow is Thursday, the sisters still have to go for their schedule, like school and work.
So Lucius went searching for a sterile box that he can use to store the hair, blood and the saliva.
For the blood and saliva he went to put them in the fridge, as they might oxidize if put in room temperature.
But before went to sleep he got a message from an unknown number, it stated that the one that messaged him is the leader of agents from the organization.
They just arrived in the country, and asked when was the right time for them to come and get the sample.
As it's already late and they had just arrived, Lucius told them that whenever the time on tomorrow is fine,
He also asked if he did a good job with taking the sample.
Then the answer almost shocked him, well he never did anything like taking a sample, so they told him he did it wrong.
It's better to let the professional, and tell the siblings to not eat any food before taking the saliva.
Fortunately the agents are actually able to compromise, they'll go to Lucius' house before 6 AM.
Lucius thanked them, and went to tell his sisters that he did a wrong job taking the sample.
Knocking on bedroom door Lucius speak,
"Sister Sophia"
A couple seconds later Sophia answered,
"Yeah? Come in"
Lucius went in, he put a sad expression and immediately apologize,
"Sister I'm sorry, actually I did it wrong..
I shouldn't take the sample myself, as it might have contamination, and they even told me not to refrigerate the sample…
Sorry my bad"
Sophia just finished her night stretching before sleeping, in her comfortable sleepwear, she sat on the rug, the table that usually sat in the center of the room was leaned nicely on the wall,
She get up and look Lucius in the eye,
As Sophia also doesn't know about DNA test or anything like that, so she's fine with that,
"So, they'll take the sample, But when will they come? Is there any requirement?"
Lucius nodded, he still felt apologetic about it, with a sorry expression he said.
"They said they'll come tomorrow morning before 6 AM, and they required us to not consumed any food in 30 minutes before"
She walk towards the bed, looking at sleeping Eve, then look at Lucius again, she speak calmly,
"Alright, that's fine, I'll tell Eve tomorrow then, she is already asleep now, is there anything more that i need to know?"
Lucius thinking for a moment, he shake his head then smiled weakly,
"I think that's all, goodnight Sister Sophia"
Sophia smiled back, she said
"Goodnight Luci, don't sleep too late~"
Lucius nodded, walked out and closed the door, now with the bad sample inside the fridge, he goes to clear them all and clear the box he just used for storing them.
After that he went to sleep, thinking about tomorrow.
