In the final match of the afternoon, the battle between Jiang Chen and Ling Wanqiu began.

Ling Wanqiu looked at Jiang Chen, her eyes filled with fighting spirit. "I won't lose to you."

"Then let's go." Jiang Chen motioned to Ralts, and Ralts directly floated to the battlefield using its psychic powers. Ling Wanqiu also released her Pokémon, Axew.

Earlier, Ling Wanqiu had already let Axew battle Ralts once before, a battle that ended in Axew's crushing defeat. Last time, Ralts used its psychic powers to throw Axew into the sky, and it fell back down, losing its battle capability from the impact.

"From a type perspective, it's very disadvantageous for School Beauty Ling."

"Indeed. Ralts has the Fairy typing. Dragon-type moves are useless against Ralts. I feel like School Beauty Ling might as well use Charmander." Although Charmander has "dragon" in its name, and its final evolution, Charizard, looks like a dragon and has "dragon" in its name, Charizard does not have the Dragon type. However, it can learn many Dragon-type moves. If it were to Mega Evolve into Mega Charizard X using the Charizardite X, its Flying type would become Dragon type. Using Charmander would prevent it from being countered by Ralts.

However, among the Pokémon Ling Wanqiu could use, Axew was the strongest. The Dratini that Jiang Chen had given Ling Wanqiu couldn't compare either. She had only had Dratini for too short a time. It was fine for battling others before, but facing Jiang Chen, using Axew felt more confident.

"Even before, Ralts was stronger than Axew. Now Ralts is much stronger than Axew." Jiang Chen said to Ling Wanqiu. How could an ordinary Tier 7 Axew battle an Elite Tier 1 Ralts?

"My Axew has also become stronger," Ling Wanqiu said defiantly.

"Yes, I can tell your Axew has become much stronger, but my Ralts is growing even faster," Jiang Chen shrugged. With the Mystic Stone in hand, Ralts's growth speed was too fast. The gap wouldn't shrink, it would only grow larger.

"We'll only know after we fight. Axew, use Bite." Since the Fairy type had already been revealed, Ling Wanqiu naturally wouldn't use Dragon-type moves against Ralts. If she used Dragon-type moves against a Fairy type again, wouldn't that be a gift?

"Ralts, use Hypnosis." Axew, charging towards Ralts, suddenly stumbled and fell to the ground, put to sleep by Ralts's Hypnosis.

"Not good." Ling Wanqiu's face changed.

"It seems the battle is already over," Jiang Chen spread his hands to Ling Wanqiu.

"My Axew hasn't lost its battle capability yet." Ling Wanqiu prayed that Axew would wake up quickly. But at this moment, Ralts had already used Dream Eater. Axew's small face, sleeping due to Hypnosis, showed a painful expression, and then it lost its battle capability.

One Hypnosis, plus one Dream Eater, and what others thought would be a dragon-eat-dragon battle, thus came to an end. Ling Wanqiu's expression was blank. She had clearly tried hard to catch up with Jiang Chen, but instead, Jiang Chen had pulled even further ahead.

"Battle over. Axew is unable to battle. Ralts wins." The referee was also stunned for a moment, then announced Jiang Chen's victory.

"Are you alright?" Jiang Chen asked Ling Wanqiu.

"I'm fine. I'm not that easily defeated." Ling Wanqiu recovered, looking at Jiang Chen, the determination in her eyes undiminished. "I lost this time, but there's still a long way to go in the future."

Ling Wanqiu had already anticipated losing to Jiang Chen. Even if she verbally declared she wouldn't lose, in reality, Ling Wanqiu herself had no confidence in this battle. However, this was just the beginning of her journey as a Trainer. Although she had studied at school for many years, she was only now truly embarking on the path of a Trainer. There was a long future ahead, and she refused to believe she could never surpass Jiang Chen.

"It's good to see you've recovered. I almost thought I had stifled a genius," Jiang Chen said with a smile.

"Do you think I'm that fragile?" Ling Wanqiu looked at Jiang Chen with dissatisfaction.

"No, no, I know you're indomitable."

"Hmph, next time it'll be your turn to suffer a setback." Ling Wanqiu snorted lightly, then recalled Axew, and glanced at Ralts. "Ralts should have the strength of ordinary Tier 9 by now, right?"

"No, Ralts already has Elite-level strength, so you really didn't lose unfairly to Ralts." Jiang Chen spread his hands.

"Knowing the strength of your Ralts has only dealt me a greater blow." Ling Wanqiu looked at Jiang Chen. This campus ranking competition was simply not his stage, just like an adult dominating a child.

"If Ralts has Elite-level strength, then Metang is at least Elite-level strength too." Ling Wanqiu felt a sense of urgency. It seemed future training still needed to be intensified.

[Ding! Congratulations to the host for completing the mission 'Obtain first place in the campus ranking competition'. Reward: Move Learner - Teleport, Points +8000!]

The system's notification sounded. This mission was finally completed. The 8,000 points weren't the most important; what was most important was the rewarded Move Learner. The Psychic-type move Teleport would be incredibly useful in the real world.

Afterwards, the school principal appeared and announced that Jiang Chen had become the strongest in Tianhai City Elite Academy, and there were also rewards for the campus competition. The rewards included one million Alliance Coins and the choice of any move secret scroll. For ordinary people, this reward was absolutely generous, but for Jiang Chen, it was quite ordinary, even negligible. However, he still had to take what was due; this was Jiang Chen's rightful gain.

Not just Jiang Chen, but the top five all received rewards. The fifth place was decided by a duel among the four who lost in the quarterfinals. This person was Wang Xin, Ling Wanqiu's deskmate.

The five not only received school rewards, but in half a month, they would also represent Tianhai Pokémon Academy to participate in a friendly exchange match with the Imperial City Pokémon Academy.

"I hope you five will do your best and bring glory to our Tianhai Pokémon Academy." The principal's expression was solemn. Whether Tianhai Pokémon Academy could surpass Imperial City Pokémon Academy this year depended on these five individuals. Among them, the principal had the highest hopes for Jiang Chen.
