Chapter 42 - Chapter 42 Wu Zhangkong: So They Don’t Reason? Perfect

"Debts must be repaid, and murder demands retribution—"

A large crowd had gathered imposingly at the entrance of Eastsea Academy, their presence overwhelming. Some even held soul-guided guns, weapons banned for civilian use.

At the forefront of the group stood a grim-faced man beside Guang Long.

He was burly, with a thick beard and a bald head, bearing a striking resemblance to Guang Long—like an upgraded version of him. This was his older brother, Guang Biao.

As the captain of Eastsea City's Mecha Brigade, his Martial Soul was Ironclad Dragon, and he was a 63rd-ranked Soul Emperor and a Purple Mecha Designer—a formidable figure.

No one would have guessed that the ones making such a scene weren't some underworld gang but members of the city's protective Mecha Brigade.

"This is outrageous!"

"Is this how Eastsea Academy teaches its students?!"

Guang Biao's gaze burned into the academy before him, fury and resentment seething in his heart.

As the Mecha Brigade captain, his duty was to protect the city, not to be here like this. But today was different. His younger brother, Guang Long, had been beaten up by a student from Eastsea Academy!

According to his brother, he had merely gone out to eat when several students provoked him without reason and attacked him…

They had beaten him so badly that even Guang Biao, his own brother, hadn't recognized him at first glance.

"Unforgivable!"

Guang Biao gritted his teeth. He and his brother had grown up together, and their bond went without saying. When they were young, their family could only afford to send one of them to a Soul Master academy, so he had been the one to go.

His brother, whose talent was already slightly inferior, had his potential completely wasted. Even now, as adults, Guang Biao still carried guilt over it.

He owed his brother. If he couldn't protect him now, after achieving everything he had…

He would never be able to respect himself.

"Guang Biao of the Mecha Brigade…"

"Did Luo Chuan get into trouble with them?"

From a distance, Ouyang Zixin watched the scene with confusion. She had noticed Guang Biao holding a photo of Tang Luochuan, but why?

Luo Chuan was only nine years old!

For a group of grown men—Mecha Designers, no less—to come demanding answers from a child was beyond excessive. In her eyes, this was pure bullying!

A bunch of middle-aged men ganging up on a kid—could they be any more shameless? Next, would they go after kids who had just awakened their Martial Souls?

This was truly despicable! What had Luo Chuan even done wrong?

"Exactly, Zixin. They're clearly looking to bully someone, and they've picked the wrong target."

"Daring to mess with Luo Chuan?"

Mu Xi's face was also filled with anger. Both she and Ouyang Zixin had a good relationship with Luo Chuan, especially her. Right now, her forging skills were being elevated by Luo Chuan's extraordinary talent and guidance.

To pick a fight with the world's number one forging prodigy—Guang Biao, oh Guang Biao, you've really crossed the line. Did he think the Forging Master Association had no one to stand up for them?!

"Hey, Dad, I have a problem here..."

"There's a Soul Emperor blocking Luo Chuan at the school gate, demanding justice for his injured brother. He wants him to pay with his life. Come quick, come quick..."

Mu Xi immediately pulled out her soul communicator and called her father, declaring the situation urgent in an instant.

This Guang Biao was nothing more than a Soul Emperor at best, while her father was a Titled Douluo! Since he dared to bully Luo Chuan, he had to face severe consequences. She would make sure her father taught him a proper lesson.

"Guang Biao from the Mecha Brigade? Bringing people to block the entrance of Xiao Xi's school—this is completely against the rules."

At the Forging Master Association, Mu Chen wore a thoughtful expression. The Mecha Brigade was an organization tasked with protecting the city's safety, and its captain held a rank equal to that of an executive. Yet now, they were pulling such a stunt.

"Guang Biao, you fool."

Mu Chen shook his head, but that didn't stop him from vanishing in a flash, swiftly flying toward the direction of Eastsea Academy.

Luo Chuan must not come to harm—he was the only forging prodigy capable of surpassing even his senior brother's abilities!

If Guang Biao dared to lay a finger on Luo Chuan...

He wouldn't let him off easy.

"Brother."

"You have to avenge me."

Beside Guang Biao, Guang Long was still sobbing, pinching his swollen face, now puffed up like a balloon, and pleading.

He hadn't reflected on his own actions in the slightest. In his mind, all he had done was try to collect protection money—what was wrong with that?

People were willing to give it...

Well, maybe they weren't so willing at first, but eventually, none of them complained anymore.

It was all those kids' fault! If not for them, he'd still be collecting protection money and making loads of cash.

"Don't worry."

"Your brother won't let you suffer in vain."

Guang Biao said solemnly before turning his gaze back toward Eastsea Academy, his expression darkening once more.

"Teacher, are those attackers coming out or not? I don't have time to waste here. I want to see them—alive or dead."

"Just wait a little longer, they'll be here soon, soon."

Zhang Buwei, the head of the senior division, nodded hurriedly, his face filled with confusion and panic.

This Wu Zhangkong had already beaten him up over their disagreement, and now he'd gone and turned someone's brother into a swollen mess. Now, the victim's family was at their doorstep demanding justice!

Wu Zhangkong, where are you?!

This was a Soul Emperor—someone he wouldn't dare to lay a finger on.

"If they're not here in ten minutes, my men and I will go in and find them ourselves."

Guang Biao said coldly, his patience wearing thin. If they didn't show up soon, he'd force his way in.

"Captain Guang Biao, don't be hasty. This might just be a big misunderstanding. Their teacher will bring them out soon..."

"Misunderstanding?"

"How about I give you a 'misunderstanding,' Zhang Buwei? How about I beat you to a pulp and call it a beautiful misunderstanding?"

Guang Biao glared at him, and Zhang Buwei immediately shut up. This wasn't just about being "Buwei" (not intimidating)—he was about to become "Yangwei" (raising intimidation).

"Captain Guang Biao, surely you don't still believe a few kids could actually beat your brother, do you? Are you really—"

Zhang Buwei hesitated, nearly cursing out loud.

"Enough, I've already said I only want these few kids."

"Are you really refusing to listen to Reason?"

"Reason?"

Hearing this, Guang Biao laughed.

"Reason?"

"I could discuss Reason with you, but after beating my little brother to this state, what fucking Reason is there to discuss?"

"My fists are bigger, so I'm taking them with me."

Guang Biao said coldly. As he spoke, an overwhelming aura erupted from his entire body, startling even the onlookers.

"So it's about whose fists are bigger."

"That couldn't be better."

At that moment, a cold voice rang out. Though quiet, it carried an extraordinary penetrating quality.

In everyone's line of sight appeared a man dressed in white robes, his long hair flowing freely. He stood there proudly, as if the temperature in the air had dropped several degrees.

Even the oppressive atmosphere in the air momentarily lessened.

"This person..."

Guang Biao frowned, sensing it most clearly.

The moment Wu Zhangkong appeared, the imposing momentum he'd just built up shattered like crashing into an iceberg, scattering in all directions.

"A formidable one."

"You... who are you?"

Guang Biao narrowed his eyes.

"The teacher of those kids you mentioned."

"As for your current intentions..."

Wu Zhangkong didn't elaborate further, simply pointing silently at Tang Luochuan and the others behind him.

"Defeat me, and you can proceed."

"If you lose..."

"Then scram."
