Chapter 67 - Chapter 67;MORNING MAYHEM 2

Chapter 67

As Madison stood alone, her eyes still blazing with humiliation from the earlier encounter, two girls approached her, their laughter carrying on the breeze like a mocking serenade. "I predicted she'd get rejected," one of them said with a smug glance at her friend, her eyes gleaming with vindication.

Madison's face twisted in a scowl, her lips compressed in indignation. "I will not be give up,I will try again later," she declared, her voice infused with unyielding determination, despite the embarrassment that still smoldered in her eyes.

The second girl chuckled, her laughter like a subtle ridicule. "By all means, try again and suffer another public humiliation," she taunted, her voice dripping with sarcasm, her words hanging in the air like a dare.

The two girls laughed, their giggles echoing through the air, a jarring contrast to Madison's increasingly dark expression. As they walked away, their laughter lingered, leaving Madison looking infuriated.

Chuchu stood by the bedside, her expression icy as she poured water over Camila's face, the cool liquid splashing against her skin. Camila's eyes flew open, and she sat up with a start, rubbing her eyes in a futile attempt to shake off the sleep. Water droplets clung to her eyelashes, and her hair was damp and disheveled.

"You're disturbing me with your snoring," Chuchu said, her voice cold and detached. "Can you please keep it down?"

Camila blinked away the water, her gaze unfocused. "Sorry, I don't get what you just said," she mumbled, her voice husky from sleep.

Chuchu's expression remained impassive. "You're still half asleep, apparently. Let me refresh your memory: you're snoring loudly. It's annoying."

Camila's eyes narrowed, her expression slowly clearing as she took in Chuchu's words. She rubbed her eyes again, trying to shake off the remnants of sleep. "What...what's going on?" she asked, her voice still groggy.

Chuchu's voice was devoid of emotion. "You've been snoring for hours. I've had enough!"

Camila's face twisted in a sheepish grin as she realized what had happened. "Sorry about that," she apologized, her voice sincere. "I'll try to be quieter."

As Chuchu turned to leave Camila's bedside, the silence was oppressive, heavy with unspoken tension. Her footsteps echoed softly in the room as she walked away, her icy demeanor a stark contrast to the warmth of the morning light that filtered through the window.

"I don't even know why I was brought to this room." Chuchu muttered to herself as she reached the door, her voice barely audible. "Thank goodness today is the last day. If not, I would have suffocated." The words hung in the air like a challenge.

The morning sun cast its golden rays upon the nature camp, illuminating the lush greenery that surrounded Chuchu as she stood amidst the tranquil scenery. The trees towered above her, their leaves rustling softly in the gentle breeze like a chorus of whispers. Her phone, once a lifeline to her friends, was broken and still, a casualty of the previous day's chaos.

The need to reconnect with her friends gnawed at her, and she recalled the discovery of their tent room yesterday.

With purposeful strides, Chuchu approached the tent, her footsteps quiet on the dew-kissed grass. She peered through the window, her eyes meeting a scene of slumbering tranquility. Her friends lay entwined in sleep, their chests rising and falling in a soothing rhythm. Chuchu's patience, worn thin by her own early rising, snapped.

"Get your ass off the bed now!" she exclaimed, her voice shattering the morning calm like a stone cast into a still pond. Her friends jerked upright, their eyes snapping open as they took in Chuchu's exasperated countenance. Her gaze flicked to her wristwatch, the small face a testament to her punctuality. "It's almost eight, and you two are still sleeping?" she demanded, her tone a blend of incredulity and amusement, tinged with a hint of annoyance.

The sudden burst of noise seemed to electrify the air, and her friends rubbed the sleep from their eyes, their faces creasing into smiles as they absorbed Chuchu's words. The morning sunlight danced across their features, illuminating the gentle disarray of their hair and the soft, sleep-flushed hue of their skin.

Hyun Min walked ahead, his long strides eating up the distance, his footsteps quiet on the dew-kissed grass. Na Yeon trailed behind him, her eyes fixed on his broad shoulders, her gaze unwavering.

"I don't require an escort, so don't follow me," Hyun Min said over his shoulder, his voice firm but detached, like a whispered command. Na yeon hesitated for a moment, but her curiosity soon got the better of her. "I just want to know your room," she called out, her voice laced with a mixture of curiosity and longing.

Hyun Min turned slightly, his expression unimpressed, like a mask that hid his true emotions. "There's no need. We're all going back to school today, so what's the point?" he replied, trying to deter her with a wave of his hand.

But Na yeon wouldn't give up. "Even still, just tell me," she pressed, her voice persistent, like a gentle breeze that refused to die down. Just then, a teacher's voice echoed across the nature camp, interrupting their conversation like a sudden storm. "Students, students, students! Go and have your breakfast! Let's play a game! It's time! Once you've had your breakfast, let's all gather here for a camping game!"

As the announcement was made, Na yeon's eyes lit up. "Oh, I love games!" she exclaimed, her face brightening with excitement, like a flower blooming in the sun. Hyun Min shook his head and walked away, trying to escape Na yeon's clingy behavior like a ship sailing away from a treacherous shore. But Na yeon followed him, her footsteps light on the ground, like a ghostly presence that haunted his every step.

Hyun Min turned to her, his expression stern, like a judge pronouncing sentence. "I didn't know 'don't follow me' was a suggestion....apparently, your ears are immune to instructions" he snapped, his words cutting through the air like a knife.

Na yeon smiled sweetly, unfazed by his outburst, like a summer breeze that brought no relief from the heat. "Fine, I won't," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm, like honey laced with poison. "But I'll be seeing you later on." She threw him a kiss, her lips puckering up in a playful gesture, like a challenge thrown down.
