After allocating his newly earned stat points, Rimuru looked over his gloriously enhanced attributes and couldn't help but smile. Humming with delight, he skipped over toward the crystal to finally claim it.
"Hey, Rimuru-chan! I'll just take this off your hands. No need to thank me—bye-bye!"
Out of nowhere, that parasitic protozoa—long vanished from the field—suddenly reappeared. Kiana snatched the crystal with a grin and bolted into the forest, vanishing like a gust of wind.
"What the—?! You dare snatch food from a tiger's mouth? Get back here!"
Watching his prize fly right out of his hands, Rimuru was furious. He made a move to chase, but paused when he saw the dense and tangled terrain ahead. Realistically, it would be impossible to catch her now.
"Damn it! Why am I just standing around like an idiot? Next time I see that fluffy white menace, I swear I'll catch her and give her a serious lesson! Hmph! (╯^╰)"
Fuming, Rimuru stomped the ground in frustration. Then he picked a direction and walked away. No use crying over stolen crystals—he needed to get stronger. His goal was to become the champion, after all.
Meanwhile, Kiana was dashing through the forest, zigzagging through trees, constantly checking behind her to make sure Rimuru wasn't on her tail.
"Whew! Thank goodness that monster didn't chase me. I'd be toast if he did."
Wiping sweat from her brow, she recalled with vivid clarity how Rimuru had obliterated the entire Anti-Entropy squad in seconds. His stats were terrifying—far beyond anything she could handle right now.
"Kiana! I told you not to get involved. Are you hurt?"
Just then, Mei appeared with a concerned look on her face.
"Ah! Mei!"
Seeing her partner, Kiana leapt into her arms and proudly held up her prize.
"Look! Look! I got it! I got that special item!"
"Seriously, Kiana, you're reckless as ever." Mei sighed, but when she saw the hopeful expression on Kiana's face, she couldn't help but give her a bit of praise.
"You're really something, Kiana. By the way, what does that crystal actually do?"
Mei examined the item curiously.
Transfer Crystal: Allows the user to swap positions with any designated enemy. One-time use.
"Eh? That's it?"
Kiana frowned. "All it does is switch places with someone? It's not even an attack item. I risked my life for this? Ugh, how disappointing!"
"Well… it might not seem useful now, but who knows? It might come in handy later," Mei said, trying to comfort her.
Back on Rimuru's side—he hadn't been walking long before running into a terrifying adversary… One that made him consider running for his life.
"Lord Rimuru! I finally found you!"
Shion ran up to him, practically glowing with joy.
"Huh? Shion? What are you doing here?"
Rimuru was surprised but also pleased to see her.
"I've been looking for you nonstop! Look! I brought all the ingredients I've collected—I can make tons of delicious food for you!"
Beaming with pride, Shion dumped the contents of her backpack on the ground like she was presenting a treasure trove.
"…What is all this?"
Rimuru stared at the pile. His vision automatically censored it, and a cold sweat began trickling down his temple. He was almost certain he had just heard something very ominous.
"See this? It's a big bone from one of the skeleton knights I defeated—it should be really nutritious! And this one's a dragon wing I sliced off! And this one—"
Shion chattered enthusiastically about each bizarre item. Rimuru trembled as she spoke. Was she really here to cook for him? Was this not some elaborate poisoning scheme?
"A-actually, Shion-chan, I've got something urgent—gotta go!"
Rimuru slowly, awkwardly tried to back away.
"Eh? Something urgent? Then let's go together!"
Completely oblivious, Shion happily trotted after him.
"Ughhhh…"
In the end, Rimuru couldn't shake her. He was stuck traveling with her.
By noon, the inevitable finally arrived.
"Here, Lord Rimuru. Try this special soup I made just for you."
Shion gently handed him a steaming bowl of soup.
At that very moment, a skeletal knight caught their scent and charged toward them—but before it could even get within ten meters, it suddenly stopped in its tracks. Its face twisted in horror, and it turned tail and fled like it had seen the devil.
"…Hmm."
Rimuru watched the fleeing skeleton and then looked down at the soup in his hands. He fell into deep contemplation.
The soup looked… normal. Smelled delicious. Appeared perfectly safe.
But he knew better. Even without tasting it, he could tell how dangerous it was. Any food that could scare away a skeleton—which shouldn't even have a sense of taste—was not food. It was biological warfare.
"Why aren't you drinking, Lord Rimuru? You should drink it now—it'll taste bad once it gets cold!"
Shion encouraged him with innocent cheer.
"…Fine. If I must die, then so be it!"
Steeling himself, Rimuru closed his eyes, clenched his teeth, and downed the soup in one go.
Suddenly—
Ultraman blasted a kaiju with lasers.
Humans and beastfolk fought in an epic war.
Autobots transformed into cars.
Sun Wukong rampaged through Heaven.
God created the universe.
A wild montage of completely unrelated visions blasted through Rimuru's mind like a supercut of insanity. In that moment, he saw eternity. He saw the future. He saw… everything.
"Ha… ha…"
Panting, Rimuru looked like a man who had narrowly escaped death.
"What's wrong, Lord Rimuru? Want another bowl?"
Shion asked sweetly.
"Uhh, actually I feel kinda sleepy now… Think I'll take a nap."
With the most awkward smile imaginable, Rimuru forced himself to lie down. Without waiting for her to respond, he morphed back into his slime form and lay motionless on the grass.
"Sleepy already? Now that you mention it, I feel a bit drowsy too. I'll just cuddle up with you then, Lord Rimuru."
Shion poked Rimuru with her finger, scooped him into her arms, and lay down beside him, drifting off peacefully.
"Those two sure are taking it easy. Sleeping during a guild war, huh."
Not far away, Sengoku observed the scene through binoculars.
Rimuru: No, I don't want to sleep at all. But if I don't pretend to, she'll make me drink another bowl. I refuse to accept that fate.
"You thinking of dealing with them?" Garp asked while picking his nose.
"Nah. Let 'em rest. It's bad manners to disturb people when they're relaxing."
Sengoku smiled and shook his head. This wasn't some do-or-die war—it was just a guild competition. Win or lose, what did it really matter?
"Haha! You've changed, old friend. The Sengoku I knew wouldn't be this easygoing."
Garp laughed heartily, giving Sengoku a friendly slap on the shoulder. He liked this version of him.
"Let's take a break too—right here."
Sengoku shrugged and gave the order to the rest of the navy.
And so, despite being on a battlefield, the midday sun shone down on a scene of rare peace and tranquility.
The Dimensional Guild really was a magical place.
