"W-What did they say?" Dapper asked, swallowing a mouthful of saliva as fear crept up his spine. He was terrified he'd been caught cheating.
"They said you went to play a game at a new friend's house," Fred answered, his expression still stoic.
"Oh… yeah, that's right, haha. I went to chill at his place. Just wanted to relax a bit—my last exam is tomorrow," Dapper replied with a forced smile.
"Haa~ fair enough. I'm sorry, my lord. I didn't consider that. I guess we were just overly worried about you and didn't think things through. However, if you want to play games, you can always call me. I actually play games a lot too," Fred said, flashing a smile for the first time—which surprised Dapper, as he'd never seen him smile before.
'Thank my stars. Yavo and Lice actually proved useful for once.'
"So, you play video games too?"
"Yeah, I love them. My favorites are…" Fred began listing different genres, further shocking Dapper.
