A Sunny Day in a City Built by Dreams
The Cardinal World had returned to peace.
Cities were shining under newly rebuilt towers. Trade routes buzzed with merchant carts. Magic academies reopened, children laughing as they practiced their first spells. Adventurers filled the roads again, heading to quests, inns, and guild halls. It was like the war had been a bad dream—but for those who lived it, the scars, and the memories, were very real.
In Tempest, things were thriving even more. The city Rimuru built had become a cultural hub. Elves, dwarves, humans, monsters, spirits, even demons… all living together. Harmony was real here. And the popularity of Tempest kept rising. With the new Labyrinth built by Ramiris, Rimuru was already planning something wild—a full-scale Dungeon Challenge system for adventurers to conquer.
But nothing—nothing—could've prepared Rimuru for what was about to happen.
"Hey Milim," Yujiro said one morning, casually cracking his neck.
They were in Milim's palace garden, where Milim had just finished punching a boulder into pebbles for training.
Milim turned to him, sweating, smiling. "What's up, Yujiro?"
He didn't smile. But his voice was relaxed.
"I think it's time I give your slime friend a visit."
Milim's face lit up like the sun. "YAYYY! I'm coming with you!"
Yujiro shrugged. "Sure. Let's go."
Without another word, the two launched into the sky—Milim giggling like a kid, Yujiro flying calmly beside her, arms crossed, eyes sharp like always.
The sun was shining bright over Tempest—its golden light washing over the city, glittering off the rooftops, making the paved roads sparkle. Birds chirped in the trees, children ran around laughing, and merchants shouted cheerful greetings in the marketplace. The city had never looked more alive.
In the middle of the city, near the central square, Rimuru was walking calmly, hands in his coat pockets, followed by Diablo and Goramu, his ever-loyal aides.
"So, the plan for the new trade route through Dwargon is going smoothly," Diablo was saying in his silky voice. "The merchant guilds are excited, and we might even get that exclusive magic crystal deal signed next week."
Rimuru smiled. "Nice, nice. Things are really going well—"
Suddenly, his smile froze.
A huge spike of energy surged through the sky like a comet—fast, wild, and unmistakably Milim's.
But… it wasn't just her.
"Rafael," Rimuru said with a nervous smile, "uh… please tell me Milim's just coming alone…"
"Answer: Milim Nava is accompanied by Yujiro Hanma. Estimated time of arrival: 30 seconds."
Rimuru froze in place.
"Wait—YUJIRO?! Yujiro Hanma?! Oh crap!" He spun on his heel so fast Diablo blinked. "Quick! Get everything ready! He's coming HERE!"
Goramu's eyes widened slightly. "So, it's time already…"
Diablo didn't question a thing. "Understood." In a flash of black mist, he was gone.
Thirty seconds later, a sonic boom cracked the air above Tempest.
Civilians looked up in awe as a streak of red and pink light shot through the sky like a meteor. It came down—BOOM—in the middle of the city square, kicking up dust, sending wind rippling through everyone's clothes.
The citizens gasped, guards froze, and kids squealed in shock and awe.
When the dust cleared… there stood Milim Nava, hands on her hips, big grin on her face, and next to her…
A mountain of muscle, calm eyes like a predator, back straight, hands in his pockets.
Yujiro Hanma.
Murmurs erupted from the crowd.
"Is that… is that HIM?"
"The Ogre Elders talked about him…"
"That's the man that crushed Atraval, right?"
"I thought he was a legend!"
From the edge of the crowd, Rimuru, Diablo, and Goramu stepped forward. Rimuru wore his usual smile, but there was definitely a bead of sweat sliding down his temple.
Milim grinned. "Heya, Rimuru!! Guess who I brought!~"
Yujiro stepped forward slowly, his gaze scanning the city. The buildings. The people. The aura in the air.
He finally looked at Rimuru.
"You turned a forest into a kingdom," Yujiro said, voice low but strong. "Not bad… slime."
Rimuru chuckled nervously and rubbed the back of his head. "Heheh… thanks, I guess. Took a while."
Just then, Goramu stepped forward, head bowed with rare reverence.
"It's been a long time… Master Yujiro."
Yujiro's face shifted just slightly—maybe a smile, maybe a twitch. "Goramu. You kept up with your training. That's good."
Rimuru blinked. "Wait… 'Master'?"
Goramu turned to Rimuru. "Before Tempest existed… before the Orc Disaster… Yujiro lived in our village. He trained me. And he trained the others too."
Rimuru's eyes went wide. "THAT's how you all survived?!"
"Indeed," Goramu nodded. "We owe him more than you know."
"Oh i remember you told me, I must have forgotten" Rimuru said, then Rapael jumped in, "Master has a perfect memory, there is no way master could forget"
Rimuru then said in his mind to his skill "oh Raphael forget you...."
Rimuru waved his hands, trying to act cool. "Well then! Please! Come see the place I built for you, Yujiro!"
Yujiro followed as Rimuru, Milim, Diablo, and Goramu led him to a beautiful house near the palace. Built with fine stone, dark wood, and lined with trees, the place radiated peaceful power.
Yujiro smirked. "So the slime does know how to prepare."
"Hehe… always ready," Rimuru said as they entered the living room.
Inside was already arranged—a spacious seating area, comfy couches, and a warm hearth. Rimuru turned to one of the soldiers.
"Send word to Shuna. Tell her to bring refreshments."
Minutes later, the air rippled again—Hakuro entered first.
He walked with dignity and bowed. "It is an honor to see you again, Master Yujiro."
"Still breathing, old man?" Yujiro teased, but it was affectionate.
Hakuro smirked. "Barely."
Then came Benimaru, Souei, Shion, and Shuna, each bowing with deep respect.
"Yujiro-sama," Benimaru said, "We are grateful to you. You trained us before we even knew what strength was."
"You gave us the foundation," Souei added.
Shion, blushing furiously, stood quietly behind them.
Shuna stepped forward with a tray, her calm elegance as graceful as ever.
"Please, accept our refreshments, Yujiro-sama. I made them myself."
Yujiro took a glass, sipped, and raised an eyebrow. "Better than Dwargon's wine."
Rimuru's eyes widened. "Told ya! Gazel and I been trading, and Shuna's been mastering everything."
Milim was already munching on a snack. "Mmmph! So good!"
Shion kept fidgeting.
Her heart was racing.
She had to say it. This was her moment.
"U-Uh…" she stammered. "Yujiro-sama… I… I never got to thank you. You saved all of us… during the war. You fought Atraval… I…"
Everyone turned to her.
Shion took a deep breath, turned red, and blurted out:
"C-Can I hug you!?"
Silence.
Diablo blinked.
Benimaru's jaw dropped.
Souei… actually raised an eyebrow.
Rimuru stared at her. "Shion???"
Milim gasped. "Oooooh~!"
Yujiro looked at her.
Then nodded once. "Sure."
Before anyone could react, Shion let out a squeal and dove into Yujiro's arms, hugging him tight like a giant teddy bear. Her muscles rippled as she clung to him.
Everyone just stared.
"W-Wow," Rimuru mumbled. "She… she really did it."
Yujiro didn't move. "Still strong," he muttered. "Keep it that way."
Shion stepped back, bright red, smiling like a kid with candy.
Hours passed, and the group sat around the fire.
They laughed, ate, shared stories of the war and the rebuilding of the world. Rimuru explained the idea behind the new Labyrinth—how Ramiris was going to manage it.
Milim was already planning on sneaking in some giant dragons.
Yujiro sat silently, listening. Watching. Smiling just slightly now and then.
It was one of those rare moments.
Where gods, demons, and monsters… simply shared peace.
