"Lambert, she's not a good person. She threatened me to leave you. Let me explain," Tiffany said as she looked at Lambert.
"Stop making a scene," Lambert's voice was cold, making the listener feel a chilling sensation.
He shoved Tiffany with such force that she lost her balance, stumbling backward and crashing into the wall. Her elbow ached sharply, and the back of her head also hit.
What had just been an act was now genuine anger. After steadying herself, she charged toward Mia, gathering all her strength to push her.
"Mia, be careful," Lambert quickly pulled her into his arms.
Tiffany used all her strength. With nothing to block her, she threw herself forward and fell directly to the ground.
Ethan, who had followed closely behind, saw Tiffany and quickly helped her up. Her arm was scraped, and she had fallen hard, unable to stand properly for a while. The combination of feeling wronged and the pain made her tears flow freely as she cried and asked Lambert, "You don't care about my safety at all, do you? The moment she appeared, your attitude toward me turned cold. Don't you remember, Lambert? When we were young, you promised to protect me for life. What happened?"
Tiffany pretended to be dizzy and took a step toward Lambert, falling into his arms.
"Ms. Garcia," Ethan was quick, catching her before she fell. She lost her balance and ended up in Ethan's arms.
"Move aside, I don't need you to interfere," Tiffany angrily shoved Ethan away, realizing she wouldn't get her way. She turned and ran off.
Mia also stepped out of Lambert's arms, sarcastically saying, "Your lifesaver ran away. Aren't you going to chase after her? What if she gets hit by a car? You'll regret it too late."
"Mia," Lambert's heart sank as he glanced in Tiffany's direction. He was indeed a little worried but more eager to talk to Mia. Clearing up even a bit of misunderstanding was better than saying nothing.
Mia ignored him, walking away leisurely.
"Boss," Ethan called out to Lambert. He wasn't sure whether to chase Tiffany or Mia, caught in a dilemma.
"Go check on Tiffany," Lambert said, and by the time he spoke, Mia had already disappeared from view.
Tiffany was running on the road under the scorching sun. After just a few minutes, she began to feel dizzy. Hearing Lambert's voice behind her, she purposely fell to the ground, tears streaming down her face.
"Tiffany," Lambert rushed to her side. Seeing she looked exhausted, his voice softened as he called her name. Just as she was about to cry, he said, "Mia has a kind heart. You shouldn't always be against her."
"You don't care about my injuries, and you came out just to say this?" Tiffany wiped away her tears, asking Lambert pitifully.
"Forget it, I'll listen to you. She's also had it hard, and she's my sister. No matter what, we're family. I won't really hold a grudge against her. It's just that she's been too aggressive. I lost control of my emotions at that time, and you know our relationship has never been good." Tiffany noticed Lambert had firmly sided with Mia, so she softened and said kind words.
She still had actions to take and couldn't cause too much of a scene. She needed to play the role of Lambert's lifesaver and needed to make it convincing.
Lambert helped her up and into the car, and then he sat down beside her.
"Let me be part of the M project. Lambert, I've put so much effort into it. Even though it's no longer under Wenshte Group, I want to see it through to the end," she said, playing the part of someone with deep feelings.
Since Mia was the biggest beneficiary of the project, Tiffany planned to ruin it, making her lose all her investment. Then she could see what Mia would do next.
"I'll arrange it," Lambert replied without hesitation.
---
The next day, Tiffany accompanied Lambert to Martha to find Mia. She had prepared all the materials for the M project. Although Lambert was the main person in charge, Tiffany was the one implementing the project.
The project was nearing its final stages and only required the last round of public testing before it could be launched.
"Since Mia is the largest investor in the project, the final step should be carried out at Martha. Don't worry, Lambert, I'll keep an eye on it. The next project is about to reach a crucial point, so you should focus on that more. Also, for the manufacturing department, since your mom is abroad, it's better to secure the order early. That will help you get the shares," Tiffany played the role of the good person in front of Lambert while walking with him to Mia's office, whispering in his ear.
"I know," Lambert answered coldly with just three words.
Tiffany lost interest, so she didn't say anything further.
Jennifer had once used the condition of knowing Lambert's childhood lifesaver to secure her shares, protecting her position. Most of the shareholders in Wenshte Group were deeply connected to her, and during the shareholders' meeting, they unanimously decided to let her continue managing the manufacturing department. In addition, her secret dealings with Ferguson and Tiffany, combined with the fact that she didn't lose any shares from the will, meant that her losses were minimal.
"Knock knock knock." Tiffany knocked on Mia's office door, wanting to release the pent-up frustration and anger by hitting the door hard.
"Creak." A soft sound followed as the door opened. It was Daniel. The warmth on his face disappeared when he saw Lambert, replaced by indifference and disdain.
Lambert's expression slightly changed, and he unconsciously clenched his fist.
"So, Dr. Daniel is also here. I thought it was just Mia," Tiffany seized the opportunity, smiling as she hooked her arm around Lambert's, leading him into the office.
The door was closed, and Daniel walked back to Mia's side, casually peeling an apple for her. It was as if he had been there every day, carefully looking after her, and in reality, it wasn't much different.
Lambert's deep gaze stayed on Mia, not leaving her. He watched her take the apple from Daniel, smiling sweetly as she ate it, her face filled with satisfaction.
He struggled to suppress his rising anger, his fist loosening, but he couldn't help but let out a sigh, lowering his gaze.
Daniel was Mia's lifesaver!
"Mia, you and Dr. Daniel, you two…" Tiffany deliberately trailed off, sitting down on the sofa without reservation.
"We're what? What's it to you? I don't remember inviting you. What, is Wenshte Group about to go bankrupt, and now you have nothing else to do?" Mia looked up, smirking as she looked at Lambert, sharply opening her mouth.
"You misunderstood, Mia. Whatever happens between you and Dr. Daniel has nothing to do with me. As long as you're happy, that's all that matters. We're here to deliver the materials today," Tiffany said with words that implied something more.
