Chapter 19 - Chapter 18 Future.

(A/N: Hey, Btw, I know I launched the Patreon a few days ago, but I have finally managed to put out all 10 chapters, which you can now access.

It's basically a monthly subscription that you can easily unsubscribe at any time you want, so essentially you can get access to basically 40 chapters in the span of a month, technically for 10 dollars.

10 dollars for 40k words worth of content over the span of a month in exchange, I don't know about you, but that doesn't sound half bad.

Sorry for the hard sell up there, been putting quite a lot of effort into this so I am hoping I can earn a little bit from it 😭)

Liam reached the road where Dylan was currently sitting in his car, talking on the phone.

Turning back, he saw Scott and Stiles still a little distance inside the forest.

They couldn't keep up, especially Scott who had to stop a few times to take a puff of his inhaler.

Liam knew he should have stopped as well, but the item Liam was carrying was far too valuable and Dangerous.

Right now, his strength and speed were higher than what an average human could muster at the peak of their lives.

While Scott and Stiles were ranging around the average of the physical abilities of a 15-year-old.

"System at what level does my strength, speed and intellect leave the Human range and enter Supernatural range?" Liam asked as he waited for them to get out of the forest.

[60 is what a peak human can achieve in their lives]

"Wow," Liam murmured under his breath.

At this time, Scott and Stiles had arrived, out of breath and unable to run anymore.

Scott pulled out his inhaler and had to take a few puffs before his breathing calmed down.

"Let me have a go at the inhaler" Stiles panted as he was still gasping for air with his hands on his knees for support.

"You can have a go at it when your lungs decide they don't want to work like normal," Scott said with a laugh, causing Liam to crack up a bit.

After a few seconds of heavy breathing, Stiles stood up straight.

"You run like an animal" Stiles said to Liam.

"Uhh, thank you?" Liam said wondering if he was being complimented or insulted.

The sun at this time had vanished.

Liam glanced around.

The street was empty with only the street lamps that were yet to be lit there.

The trees towering around them.

Liam made a quick decision, he put the book in his pants waistband and he grabbed the two cycles belonging to Scott and Stiles as he rushed towards Dylan's car.

"Dylan, open the backseat!" Liam shouted, causing Dylan to panic a little.

But he reacted quickly enough to reach in the back and open the door.

"Guys get in!" Liam shouted as he shoved the two cycles into the relatively larger backseat.

Scott and Stiles, who rushed over, managed to squeeze in and make enough space to sit.

They themselves wished to get out of here as soon as possible, so they did not mind the discomfort.

It was completely dark at this moment.

Liam jumped into the passenger seat. "Floor it, Dylan!" he shouted.

The tires spun, kicking up dirt as the car lunged forward onto the road and tried its damned hardest to Speed off.

Liam's body loosened as he lay on the soft seat.

"Dylan, do you mind dropping them off at their homes?" Liam asked.

Scott and Stiles, however, were squeezed together in the back and were very uncomfortable.

"You know what, just drop us at the bus station about 2 miles ahead," Stiles said as he tried to move his arm that was behind Scott but failed.

"Yeah, I think that would be better" Scott said as he tried to adjust in the seat a little but hit one of the cycles.

"Okay" Dylan nodded.

Liam glanced at his stats at this moment.

[Stats:

Str: 21

Speed: 23

Dex:16

Spirit: 45

Sp: 514]

(A/N: I've made a few changes to the stats panel — INT has been removed for now since writing a genius character with IQ points in the few hundreds is a bit beyond my current capabilities 😅.

The 5 points from that INT reward have been moved to Spirit. Let me know what you think!)

"Wow" Liam murmured but suddenly a notice popped up on the holographic screen.

[Notice!]

[System Daily Mission update] It was displayed.

[Pushups: 0/400]

[Situps: 0/400]

[Run: 0/10 miles]

(A/N: I'm standardising Miles)

'Woah... why did that happen?' Liam asked the system with his thoughts.

[Every time your Stats reach an Increment of 10, the requirements for the daily missions will increase to match your strength,] the system replied.

"And here I was thinking how easy the future looked for me" Liam murmured with a little disappointment.

He glanced around and noticed that Dylan was already approaching the bus station.

"Guys, we will look at the book tomorrow, how about it?" Liam suggested, turning his head back.

Scott and Stiles both nodded in agreement.

Soon Dylan stopped the car in front of the bus station and Scott and Stiles hopped out with their cycles.

Bidding farewell, Dylan began driving.

"So what'd you guys do?" Dylan asked glancing at Liam and the old book on his lap.

"Oh nothing much, went exploring and picked up this old thing" Liam explained.

He glanced at Dylan and did not really feel like getting Dylan or anybody from his new Family involved with the Supernatural.

"Oh.. cool" Dylan said as he kept his eyes on the road.

The atmosphere went silent, almost a little awkward.

Liam glanced around wondering when this car ride would end.

"Soo, have you given any thought to what you wanna become in the future?" Dylan brought up trying to fill the awkwardness with some conversation.

Liam glanced at Dylan.

'You know what... I have not given it too much thought' Liam realized as he started thinking.

In his previous life, his entire goal was around trying to make a decent amount of money, everything he did was aligned to ensure he landed a good job and made money.

Now.

In this... new life.

Money seemed to be the last thing on his mind.

There was so much occupying him.

A new family for starters.

A dangerous world filled with powerful beings.

Enough money to swim in thanks to Bitcoin.

He simply did not have time to think about what he actually wanted to do.

"I... Don't know what I want to do" Liam said to Dylan.

"Yea same" Dylan chuckled.

"But I know whatever I want to do, I want to do it with Haley by my side," Dylan said with a smile.

"That's beautiful man" Liam said patting Dylan on his shoulders.

His back rested against the seat as he got lost in his thoughts.

There were no more conversations between the two for the next 20 minutes or so.

But it didn't feel awkward.

Dylan finally stopped the car in front of the Dunphy's house.

"Alright, thanks for the ride," Liam said. he pushed the door open and stepped out.

As he was about to shut the door.

Liam paused, with his hand on the door.

"What happened? Did you forget something?" Dylan asked looking at Liam.

'Dylan's a good guy...

He deserves better than being dragged around for Haley's sake,' Liam thought to himself looking at Dylan seriously.

Liam gave it some thought about whether he should say something.

After a few seconds of silence, he spoke.
