"It's Agent Clint Barton! He's on the second floor!" an agent exclaimed, his voice choked with panic.
Jasper Sitwell was extremely shocked by the arrow that had just whizzed past; if it had been five centimeters off, he would have met the Devil right now! But as an experienced spy, he immediately reported the enemy's location. He reported Hawkeye's position. Just as Kurohane was about to move to apprehend him, the entire Helicarrier suddenly plunged again, a violent jolt hitting them. The S.H.I.E.L.D. agents in the command center rolled across the floor, some unlucky souls with poor psychological fortitude happened to fall onto the brain-splattered corpses of the Skrulls, their faces smeared with green blood and brain matter, and promptly fainted!
The arrow Hawkeye had just fired had crippled another engine on the Helicarrier. Now, with two of the four engines out of commission, the giant aircraft was plummeting uncontrollably!
Kurohane realized this wouldn't do. If the Helicarrier crashed now, not only would few people inside survive, but few people below them would survive either! He immediately rushed over, grabbed an operator who was still sprawled on the floor, and positioned him at the control console.
"Adjust the course, fly towards the sea! We might crash!" Kurohane commanded, his voice booming amidst the chaos.
"Navigation system down, Chief!" The operator looked at his control panel and found he didn't know the route. His face was ashen.
A frustrated Kurohane flicked his head, making his skull ring. This emergency situation required instant solutions, not bureaucracy. "There's a sun in the sky! Let the sun be on the left side of the aircraft as we fly, understood?!"
"Yes, Chief!!!" The operator responded nervously, trying to comprehend the unorthodox command.
Kurohane dropped the operator, used the control console as a springboard, and with a huge leap, ascended to the second level of the bridge. He spoke to Tony Stark over the radio:
"Tony! Have you fixed the engine over there? The other engine is broken now. If you haven't fixed it, the entire ship will go down!"
"I need a bit of external power, I need to get inside the turbine and push it! If you have time, can you come help me?" Tony's voice from the radio was filled with the rush of wind that even his helmet mask couldn't completely block. There was a rarely heard note of desperation from the billionaire.
Kurohane used his Super Vision to glance in the direction Clint had fled—which was towards Loki's cell. Loki could run, but this Helicarrier couldn't crash! Natasha Romanoff was nearby, she should be able to handle Hawkeye, right? After all, during the Civil War in Captain America: Civil War, Natasha never lost to Hawkeye.
"Natasha, Clint went towards Loki's cell. I'm leaving him to you, I'll go help Tony. Be careful, that guy won't hold back now."
"Are you falling in love with me, and so concerned about me?" Natasha's teasing voice came through the headset, clearly enjoying Kurohane's attention. As for why she said that, it was because she thought Kurohane was still a virgin and was finally experiencing his first love! Although Kurohane was indeed a 'solo born mother' (virgin), outside of the geeks in the United States, someone with a prime physique like him who was still a virgin was rarer than giant pandas in Sichuan. No choice, the United States had its own national conditions!
Kurohane's old face flushed slightly, but he retorted defiantly, his tone hardening, "Agent Romanoff, you know you're my personal assistant now. I've already paid you in advance. If you want to resign, don't forget to return your salary."
"Oh? Do you want me to take it off and give it back to you?" Natasha was far tougher than Kurohane, this little virgin; with one sentence, she crashed a car into Kurohane's face. Her dark humor was undeniable.
At this moment, Tony's voice appeared, saving Kurohane who didn't know how to respond. "I think your payment process needs a witness. As a good friend to both of you, I think I can be a witness. If possible, I'd like to record the whole process!"
Kurohane scoffed, "That's definitely Tony!" Sleeping with twelve Playboy magazine cover girls every year wasn't for nothing!
However, Natasha was not a woman to be easily dismissed. She chuckled softly and said, "Of course, Pepper Potts, as my former boss, can also come and be this witness."
Now it was Tony's turn to be awkward. He and Pepper had just confirmed their relationship. It was fine if his insignificant ramblings didn't get out, but if they reached Pepper's ears, that wouldn't be good news for him. Tony Stark had turned over a new leaf! Just kidding, this is purely a hobby, okay!
"Kurohane, come on, I'm ready to start pushing the fan!" Tony cleverly changed the subject. Natasha, this veteran driver, wasn't someone he, a true love warrior, could defeat.
Kurohane reached out and opened a portal. Before he stepped in, he raised his hand and shot down a mercenary who had just emerged from behind a pillar, then walked slowly across the Skrull corpses. Seeing the messy scene, Kurohane delivered a final blow to the mercenaries lying on the ground one by one.
"Tony, I'm here, what do you need from me?"
"After I move the 'fan', you flip the controller, which will reverse the magnetic poles, and then blah blah blah, so I can blah blah blah..." Tony babbled for quite a while, his scientific jargon flowing endlessly. Kurohane declared that he only understood 'flip the controller'. He could only say to Tony helplessly:
"Tony, talk like a normal person."
Tony complained inwardly, annoyed. I don't like playing around with academically underperforming people! There's no common ground! From now on, I need to interact more with Dr. Bruce Banner, only he can understand what I'm saying!
"When I tell you to pull that red lever, pull it," Tony finally simplified.
"See, you can talk like a normal person! Why act like an intellectual in front of me, is having a high school diploma great?" Kurohane, unaware of himself as an 'academically underperforming person', and not proud at all of his elementary school diploma.
Tony pouted helplessly, while moving the fan blades to turn with great difficulty. "You don't even have a high school diploma? Is S.H.I.E.L.D.'s recruitment standard that low now?"
"Tony, soon you'll realize that seven doctorates are as useless as a sniper rifle," Kurohane said, his tone turning reflective. He suddenly remembered the plot of Thor: Ragnarok, where an exiled Hulk met an anxious Thor. Banner said his seven doctorates were far more valuable than the Hulk, the brute who only knew how to destroy. But when Thor asked Banner to use his seven doctorates to find something, Banner still chose to transform into the Hulk.
With Tony pushing with full force, the engine successfully began to spin.
"Pull that lever, Kurohane!" Tony found that his flying speed couldn't keep up with the fan blade's rotation speed. He was pushed by the fan blades and couldn't move at all, threatened with being cut into pieces.
Boom—!
Kurohane didn't answer, only the sound of a gunshot came from the radio, right after Tony yelled. Then Tony fell from the fan and floated in the air, bumping and jostling against the wall. Kurohane looked at Tony who was now flying steadily in the air and opened another portal.
"I'll go help Natasha. Perhaps when she was undercover at Stark Industries, the employee food was too good, causing her to slow down and get defeated by Clint! I wonder why her dress was so tight! Turns out she gained weight!" Kurohane grinned, stepping into the flickering portal.
