Sarutobi Hiruzen and Danzō stood in a silent standoff. Sometimes, silence could be more deafening than words. Meanwhile, Kakashi had already escorted Kitagawa Gen back home.
"We're here. Go home and get some rest."
"Yes, yes, I know."
Gen shrugged and asked with a hint of amusement, "But Kakashi-sensei, I'm totally fine. Why did you come all the way to bring me back yourself?"
"Because I care about you."
Kakashi narrowed his eyes slightly. He patted Gen's shoulder and smiled.
"Alright, go get some rest. You used Flying Thunder God so many times on the way back—and you were carrying someone, too. Even an adult would be worn out."
But I really don't feel anything wrong.
Gen pursed his lips. Even though he hadn't developed the technique much, the Ōtsutsuki's innate grasp of spatial abilities made it seem effortless.
Using Flying Thunder God barely affected him at all. In fact, he was preoccupied with a different question:
Are the Flying Thunder God marks interconnected?
Why can I sense both the Second and Fourth Hokage's marks—and use them too?
Gen couldn't figure it out. He definitely needed to study more, but there was no rush.
"Oh, right—don't be late tonight."
Kakashi took out Make-Out Paradise as he turned to leave, not forgetting to remind him, "And if you want to bring someone along, go ahead. Last time, it was Jiraiya-sama's treat—today, it's mine."
"Don't worry, Kakashi-sensei. I won't be late."
Gen gave him a playful wink.
"And I definitely won't be late for appointments or rescue missions."
"…Tch."
Kakashi rolled his eyes and bonked Gen on the head with the book before walking away, eyes still on the pages as he read.
"Guess he's really okay now."
Gen rubbed his head. He knew his last remark had been a bit much—but he had wanted to test Kakashi's attitude.
Judging from that reaction, it seemed Kakashi really had let it go. Joking like this was no longer a big deal.
"But just this once. I won't do it again."
Glancing in Kakashi's direction, Gen leapt up onto the rooftop. Instead of heading home, he made his way straight to Naruto's place.
Unfortunately, Naruto wasn't there—probably off in class.
So Gen slipped in through the window and left a message on Naruto's desk before turning to leave.
Jumping back into his own room through the window, he quickly shut and locked all the doors and windows.
"Alright, now I can finally try out my reward properly."
The Ōtsutsuki bloodline treated all forms of energy equally—regardless of the type, it would be assimilated and refined into what he needed.
That was how it had been for Uchiha Obito, after all.
Right now, what Gen was most curious about… was the chakra of the Tailed Beasts.
What kind of transformation would that chakra bring about? He wasn't completely sure.
"But still… the system really didn't give me that much."
For such a massive creature like the Three-Tails, the amount of chakra he'd received wasn't all that impressive—
Still, Gen remembered that Tailed Beast chakra could evolve on its own.
There was a boy around Naruto's age in some temple in the Land of Fire whose body housed the chakra of the Nine-Tails.
That chakra kept growing—slowly but surely developing in the direction of the Nine-Tails.
"Then again, the Nine-Tails only has one true consciousness—shared between Naruto and Namikaze Minato. The rest… they're just beasts."
Shaking his head, Gen dismissed the thought. He created a shadow clone to remain in the room while his true body vanished in an instant.
After a few spatial transfers, he arrived outside of Konohagakure. There was no way he would risk trying this inside the village—especially when it involved Tailed Beast chakra.
"Alright then—let's begin!"
[Buzz—]
The moment he started, he suddenly felt a unique power erupting from deep within his body.
That power spread through him instantly, making his blood boil once again!
And along with the surge of energy, he could feel his muscles begin to tremble and contract.
"Is this the effect of the Yang Release energy from White Zetsu's side?"
Kitagawa Gen quietly focused inward. He didn't feel any pain—just a burning heat all over his body.
He knew it was caused by the wild surge in his bloodline, but there was another special factor involved.
"The Three-Tails' chakra…"
The chakra of the Three-Tails had begun flooding into his body, continuously reacting with his own chakra.
And this chakra didn't just affect his physical form—it was also pouring into his eyes!
"Is this… the power of the fruit starting to activate?"
To the Ōtsutsuki, the Tailed Beasts were essentially fragments of the God Tree.
And in a way, consuming a chakra fruit was equivalent to acquiring a portion of a Tailed Beast's power.
So the fact that this power was concentrating in his eyes… wasn't so strange after all.
As the influx of energy continued, he could clearly feel his eyes reacting more and more intensely.
Suddenly, he felt the power in his eyes explode.
Combined with the bloodline surging through him, everything seemed to change in an instant!
"This is…"
At that moment, Gen felt light, as if his entire body had become weightless. A cool sensation washed over him from head to toe.
The burning, boiling blood had subsided, replaced by a force rapidly condensing within his body.
And his eyes—his eyes had definitely changed.
He could sense it—he could see farther, more clearly… and even—
"I think I can see some kind of predictive trajectory?"
He looked up and murmured as he watched birds flying across the sky.
This mysterious sensation left him dazed. It felt like he had never truly seen the world this clearly before.
And more importantly—
"That direction…?"
Shifting his gaze away from the birds, his eyes locked onto a patch of clouds in the distance.
He didn't know why, but he had a vague feeling that something unusual was hidden there.
"Could it be the Tenseigan?"
The thought crossed Gen's mind. But after staring for a few seconds, he shook his head.
Too vague.
He could only sense a general idea—nothing specific or confirmed. But one thing he could be sure of:
As his bloodline continued to develop, he would eventually be able to perceive that giant eyeball!
And when that time came… maybe he really could fulfill his long-held dream of 'beating up a cripple'.
"It's still early… but now I have a direction."
Gen muttered to himself. Then, just as he was about to inspect his eyes, he pulled out a kunai—and froze.
"…Wait—why am I so white?!"
Staring at his hand, his expression changed completely. He knew the Ōtsutsuki turned pale, but he didn't expect it to happen so quickly!
He immediately opened his status panel to check what was going on.
[Name: Kitagawa Gen]
[Age: 13]
[Bloodline: Ōtsutsuki Clan (Development: 20%)]
[Chakra Reserves: SS (Strong Kage Level Average)]
"It actually reached 20%?"
Gen blinked in disbelief. He remembered clearly—it had only been 13% before.
Even with the Yang Release he'd absorbed from White Zetsu, he hadn't expected much—maybe a 2–3% increase, tops.
But just the Three-Tails' chakra… had achieved this kind of effect?
"Was it because my eyes awakened too, or was the chakra alone that powerful?"
Gen didn't know for sure.
But what was certain… was that the power granted by the Tailed Beasts likely far exceeded expectations—and that made his heart race with excitement.
Still, he quickly calmed down.
Using the reflection from the kunai, he carefully examined his face.
At that moment, a sudden thought popped into his mind: "Should I call myself Ōtsutsuki Genshiki… or Ōtsutsuki Genjin from now on?"
...
"Hey, what's up with you? You seem… a little off today."
"What's wrong with me?"
The autumn breeze gently swept through the streets of Konohagakure.
Naruto narrowed his eyes, giving Kitagawa Gen a puzzled look. But no matter how hard he tried, he just couldn't put his finger on it—and that left him even more confused.
This guy looked exactly the same as always… and yet somehow completely different!
After pondering for a while, Naruto suddenly smacked his left palm with his right fist.
"Ah! I got it! You look… paler than usual!"
"..."
That's all you noticed after staring at me for so long?
Kitagawa Gen let out a light snort. His transformation had been much more drastic than Naruto realized.
With his bloodline now developed to 20%, he had gotten paler. That alone had given him quite a scare.
Fortunately, he hadn't turned as ghostly white as Momoshiki or Urashiki—and he definitely wasn't on the same level as Orochimaru just yet.
Besides, he'd always had fair skin to begin with. It was easy to play it off.
'Most importantly… no horns!'
Gen felt relieved. If he really had grown those things, he might've pulled a Uchiha Madara and snapped them off on the spot!
Though his physical appearance had taken an unexpected turn, everything else was going great—especially his chakra reserves, which had now reached the level of a high-tier Kage.
Actually, the concept of 'high-tier Kage' still confused him a bit.
But when he thought about it more carefully, it started to make sense.
'Kage' is really just a conceptual title. Rasa, the Fourth Kazekage, was a Kage. And so was the First Hokage, Senju Hashirama. But can you honestly compare the two?
Obviously not.
How dare Rasa be mentioned in the same breath as Hashirama?
Did he deserve that? Of course not! He didn't have that kind of strength!
'There aren't many who could truly be called high-tier Kage. Reaching this level with only 20% development… the Ōtsutsuki bloodline really is something else.'
Gen felt a genuine sense of awe. Beyond this point… perhaps the next stage was super-Kage level.
Only a handful of people could be considered worthy of such a title—those who stood high above all others.
'But there's no need to think about that now… it's still a long way off. For now, I just need to focus on the improvements I've already made.'
Shaking his head, Gen lightly clenched his fists. He realized that even his chakra recovery rate had improved.
'And… I can now sense Flying Thunder God markers from much farther away?'
Looking around, he could feel the scattered markers throughout Konoha—left behind by both the Second and the Fourth Hokage.
The realization thrilled him… but he didn't dare let it go to his head.
'My chakra has increased, yes—but I'm still seriously lacking in combat experience, battle instincts, and jutsu application skills.'
Greater raw power was good, but what made a ninja truly formidable was their mastery of tactics and technique.
Even without their usual power-ups, Sasuke and Naruto had managed to beat Momoshiki. Koji Kashin had used Jiraiya's battle instincts to force Isshiki to resurrect.
And if you went further back—even someone like Ōtsutsuki Kaguya had been caught off guard by Naruto's Reverse Harem Technique.
Yeah… he still had a long way to go.
