With Genji's sudden strike, chaos had completely engulfed Kirigakure!
Battles erupted throughout the village, each individual fighting for their own cause.
Yet amidst the frenzy, while the entire village seemed ready to tear itself apart, the ANBU base remained eerily quiet.
"Rin..."
Kakashi closed his eyes in pain. Everything was just as he had suspected.
Obito ended up like this—because of that incident.
But… how did he find out?
"You know, I was there that day too."
As Kakashi remained silent, Uchiha Obito seemed to drop the pretense.
Recalling that day, a pained expression flickered across his face, his voice cold.
"I rushed there with everything I had… only to witness the one thing I never wanted to believe, the one thing I never wanted to see!"
"From that moment on, I knew I was living in hell. This fake world held nothing worth cherishing."
"Konoha is always too late. The world will never change. Everyone lives in hell, so—"
"I will create a new world. A peaceful world. A world where Rin can exist forever!"
Perhaps because he had run into Kakashi and his identity was already exposed, Uchiha Obito rasped out everything in his heart.
His words left everyone present momentarily speechless.
Kisame, who had been wondering what kind of person he was dealing with, now realized—this man's thoughts weren't so different from his own.
Meanwhile, Jiraiya's brow furrowed. He realized that Kitagawa Gen had been right all along—it was only the limited intel that had made him underestimate the situation.
Uchiha Obito…
It seemed his ambitions went far beyond just Konoha.
"This organization… is far more dangerous than we thought."
Jiraiya's gaze grew grave, and Kakashi too fell into silence.
He understood how serious the situation had become, but he still couldn't comprehend why Obito had fallen so far.
"You said you saw everything just now?"
Suddenly, Kitagawa Gen, who had been silent all this time, spoke up.
"Then why are you blaming Konoha for being late? If you'd moved faster, maybe you would've made it in time?"
"…"
His abrupt words shattered the silence. Obito's expression darkened, but before he could speak, Gen cut in again.
"And based on what you just said—you want to create a peaceful world, right?"
"…"
"But judging by your methods… you don't happen to mean wiping out everyone in the world, do you?"
"???"
"I mean, if everyone's dead, there's no conflict anymore, right? That would make the world peaceful—but don't you think that's a bit… extreme?"
Gen's words made both Jiraiya and Kakashi suck in a sharp breath. Even Kisame found himself glancing at Obito in speechless astonishment.
And Obito—remained silent.
It wasn't that he didn't want to argue… but how could he just casually bring up the 'Eye of the Moon Plan'?
Yet by saying nothing, he only made it seem as though he was admitting to it.
Right now, all he wanted to do was curse.
Was he really that extreme?
"Obito, we have to bring you back!"
Kakashi no longer wished to argue. His Sharingan stared intently at Uchiha Obito.
"And when you appeared in Konoha last time, Naruto's chakra reacted. That was you ten years ago as well, wasn't it?"
"That's right. It was me."
Uchiha Obito admitted it bluntly. At this point, there was no longer any need to hide it. He met their eyes with an icy stare.
"But whether you can capture me… that depends on whether you have the ability to do so!"
As he spoke, the Fourth Mizukage lifted his head. Surging chakra began to gather around him, and Obito turned to Kisame.
"Even though things got a little messy… let me ask you—are you willing to help me create a new world?"
"Do I even have a choice at this point?"
Kisame shook his head and slowly drew the Samehada sword from his back. His gaze turned fierce as he looked toward the Konoha shinobi.
In an instant, the atmosphere inside the underground base grew oppressively heavy.
"Do it!"
Suddenly, Uchiha Obito gave a low command, and the Fourth Mizukage's chakra erupted violently—at that instant, a mirror of water manifested out of thin air.
The next moment, a figure identical to Jiraiya surged out from the water mirror and charged straight at him!
"What a pain…"
Jiraiya cursed silently in his heart. He knew this was the Fourth Mizukage's signature technique—the Water Mirror Technique.
This jutsu could replicate a clone from the mirror, one whose power was nearly identical to the original!
Jiraiya immediately leapt aside, dodging the mirror's light, and formed hand seals in rapid succession.
"Wild Lion's Mane Technique!"
His white hair shot forward like sharp needles, piercing toward the mirror clone—but just then, the Fourth Mizukage also rushed in.
"Jiraiya-sama!"
Seeing this, Kakashi immediately tried to assist, but a massive ninja blade was already slashing toward him!
"Hatake Kakashi. I know who you are."
Kisame's voice carried a hint of mockery.
"I'm really curious… just how much power can that Sharingan of yours unleash?"
As he spoke, Samehada swept sideways—aiming straight for Kakashi's head.
Kakashi had no choice but to leap backward to evade the slash, but Kisame gave chase without hesitation.
In a flash, the entire underground base descended into chaos.
Only Uchiha Obito and Kitagawa Gen had yet to make a move.
"You little brat…"
Obito flicked his sleeve slightly. A pitch-black chain fell out and was gripped tightly in his hand.
"I didn't plan on dealing with you… but it looks like you're the only one left. Maybe that's fine."
[Fwoosh—]
In the next instant, Obito lunged straight at Kitagawa Gen!
"We still have a score to settle from last time!"
"Tch."
Gen let out a faint snort and immediately charged forward to meet him.
They hadn't been that far apart to begin with—and for shinobi, that distance vanished in the blink of an eye.
Gen drew the White Fang short blade in an instant, and purple lightning danced wildly along its edge.
"That sword…"
Obito's gaze sharpened, his irritation only deepening.
Of course he recognized that blade. It was the same one Kakashi had used to save him years ago!
Back then, the blade had broken.
He hadn't expected Kakashi to have it repaired—and even give it to this kid!
"Hmph."
Obito snorted coldly, his eyes locking onto the blade slicing toward him.
The moment it passed, he finally made his move.
[Swish—]
With a faint sound, the black iron chain lashed out toward Gen.
In an instant, Gen's body was torn apart—but Obito snorted coldly.
Just then, Gen suddenly burst forth from underground, slashing toward Obito—but the latter had already retreated into the Kamui dimension.
"A water clone, huh? Pretty fast."
Obito scoffed, watching Gen retreat after his failed strike.
"But none of your movements can escape these eyes. And this time… we're not in Konoha. I've got plenty of time. One more thing…"
"Kakashi and Jiraiya are both tied up. So tell me—who's going to save you now?"
As soon as he finished speaking, he completed a set of hand seals.
"Fire Release: Blast Wave Wild Dance!"
Flames twisted through distorted space, forming a unique vortex that howled toward Gen.
"Earth Release: Earth Flow Wall!"
Gen formed a one-handed seal, and a thick wall of earth immediately rose in front of him.
[Boom—]
The blazing flames collided with the wall, and in an instant, scorching heat surged through the entire ANBU base.
"That brat… is he really going to be okay?"
Elsewhere, Jiraiya fought off the Fourth Mizukage while keeping an eye on Gen's battle.
He wasn't the only one—Kakashi, locked in combat with Kisame, was doing the same.
He had wanted to face Obito himself, but with Kisame blocking his path, he had no choice.
This guy was far more terrifying than expected!
And Obito…
At least Gen had gotten the better of him once.
More importantly, Gen had told them something critical—
The Fourth Hokage's sealing mark… might very well be on Uchiha Obito's body!
"Be careful… no matter what."
Kakashi muttered to himself in frustration—
But just then, Samehada cleaved through the air once again!
"Now's not the time to get distracted, Hatake Kakashi."
Kisame's voice snapped him back to reality.
At the same time, Jiraiya had no choice but to focus fully on his own battle.
[Whoosh whoosh whoosh—]
At that exact moment, a flurry of kunai shot out from within the flames, densely packed and raining down toward Obito!
"This move again?"
Obito let out a cold chuckle. His body turned intangible—he had no intention of absorbing a single one.
Completely ignoring the scattering kunai, his gaze instantly snapped toward Kitagawa Gen, who had charged out from the side.
"I fell for that trick once. It won't work again. Your fate is already sealed!"
"Is that so?"
Gen came slashing forward with a blade, his voice following close behind.
"You said earlier you wanted to create a world with Rin in it…"
"But Kakashi-sensei told me—she died by accident, didn't she?"
[Fwoosh—]
As he spoke, the White Fang short blade swept through Obito's body. But Gen's words made Obito's eyes flash with anger.
"What do you know?!"
Obito lashed out in an instant, sending his chain whipping toward Gen.
"Don't use your ignorance to judge my resolve!"
[Clang—!]
The moment the chain struck, a surge of violet lightning exploded from Gen's body, deflecting the attack completely.
"Is that so?"
Gen countered with another slash, his focus now fully locked in.
His eyes tracked Obito's every move—he wouldn't miss a single detail.
After keeping up the act for so long, he knew—his chance was finally here.
"You're asking to die."
Obito was just as serious now. Having already fallen for tricks once, he wasn't going to let it happen again.
This time, he didn't absorb anything—and he had confirmed the Gen in front of him was the real one.
There would be no mercy.
The moment the blade passed through his body, Obito struck—his hand reaching out directly, Wood Style chakra already gathering.
But at that same moment—Gen's eyes lit up.
This is it. This is the moment he's been waiting for!
"Didn't you just say…"
Gen's voice floated faintly through the air—
And Obito's expression suddenly twisted in shock.
Because in that instant—the Gen in front of him vanished.
And that voice… was now coming from behind him.
"You said you wouldn't fall for the same trick again?"
"What? Impossible!"
Obito's eyes went wide. He didn't have time to phase out—
And in that brief window, the haunting memories of a certain night came crashing back into his mind.
Flying Thunder God...?
And—
[BOOM—!]
A searing pain tore through his back—
like being struck by a high-speed, spiraling force of pure destruction!
He knew immediately.
That was a Rasengan!
His mind reeled in confusion.
How?
How does this brat know that jutsu?!
Why… why is it all happening again—just like that night?!
"And don't tell me," Gen's voice sounded again in his ear, "—that you're planning to use genjutsu on everyone who's already dead?"
"Come on. Isn't that just lying to yourself? Who would choose an illusion over reality?"
"…"
