Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: Akiyama Ren’s Creed — The Overwhelming Aura of the Divine God-slayer

Sakura stepped forward gracefully, her soft voice carrying a dignified calm. "Hello, everyone. I am Master's divine artifact. My name is Sakura. I look forward to being in your care."

Her smile was gentle—maternal even—yet it held a subtle mystique that enchanted the girls instantly.

Kurahashi Kyoko returned the greeting with a courteous bow. "Welcome, Sakura-san. I'm Kurahashi Kyoko."

Hotarugusa, ever cheerful, beamed. "Nice to meet you, Sister Sakura! I'm Hotarugusa!"

Even the quietest among them, the young Shikigami known only as Kyonshi Imouto, gave a shy nod. "My name is Kyonshi Imouto…"

Sakura knelt beside her and gently patted her head, eyes soft with affection. "So adorable... You really are Master's precious little Shikigami."

Akiyama Ren watched silently, the warm scene playing out like the closing frame of a slice-of-life anime. Content that everyone was getting along, he slipped away to the bathroom.

Inside, he moved with practiced efficiency—brushing his teeth, washing his face, running a comb through his unruly midnight hair. He shed his pajamas, tossed them into the washing machine, and changed into a fresh set of casual wear: a black hoodie layered over a fitted white tee and dark jeans. Simple, but effortlessly stylish.

When he stepped back into the room, the girls who had been chatting suddenly fell silent. Their eyes widened slightly as they caught sight of him.

Too handsome... That unspoken thought echoed across all three.

Taking his place at the breakfast table, Ren took a bite out of the sandwich Kyoko had prepared and nodded in approval. "I'll be heading out after breakfast. Kyoko, can you take Sakura out for a stroll? Show her around the area."

"Ehh? I thought you were going to teach us magic today..." Kyoko pouted slightly.

"I've got something I need to handle. I'll continue the lessons this afternoon."

Her mood flipped instantly. "Then leave it to me! I'll show Sister Sakura around like a pro!"

Ren smirked, downed the rest of his milk, and wiped his mouth. With that, he was out the door.

Once outside, Ren pulled out his phone and dialed a familiar number.

Beep... beep...

"Moshi moshi!"

"Aki, does the family have any connections in the real estate sector around Chiba City?"

"Huh? Seriously? You're calling me early in the morning just for that?" came the teasing voice of Adagaki Aki, Ren's adopted younger sister.

"Quit the attitude. I need this for something important."

"Alright, alright. Don't hang up, I'll check with Midori-neesan."

There was a pause on the other end.

Yuisaki Midori—his father's personal secretary—was well known in the family for her exceptional efficiency and icy composure. A corporate queen. Sharp-witted, diplomatic, and absolutely stunning.

Back in the day, when Ren was still playing the obedient heir to the Adagaki name, he wouldn't have dared harbor impure thoughts about her. But now...

With the System awakened and his soul infused with power that transcended mortality, his former self-imposed restrictions had long crumbled.

After all, he was no longer just Akiyama Ren. He was the Divine Godslayer.

Above heaven and below heaven, I alone am the honored one.

What were beings like Gojo Satoru, Ryomen Sukuna, Ashiya Doman, or Tsuchimikado Yakou to him? Just stepping stones. Footnotes in the story of his rise.

As he leaned against the fence outside his building, thinking back to Midori's captivating figure and no-nonsense tone, Aki's voice returned.

"Our family doesn't have any properties in a backwater place like Chiba, but the local top dog—the Yukinoshita Family—has partnered with us before. Their external affairs are handled by Yukinoshita Haruno. I'll text you her number."

Yukinoshita Haruno? Ren's eyes narrowed slightly. The name rang a bell not just because of her social standing—but also because she was the elder sister of Yukinoshita Yukino, one of the heroines from that anime, Oregairu. In this world, she wasn't just a background character—she was a real player in the social and political games of Chiba.

Ren committed the number to memory and hung up the call.

Without hesitation, he dialed Haruno's private line. It was a number not easily accessible—known only to high-profile connections she deemed "worth her time." Despite the unknown caller ID, she picked up almost immediately.

"Hello, this is Yukinoshita Haruno."

"Good morning. This is Akiyama Ren—Adagaki."

There was a brief pause.

"...Adagaki? As in the Adagaki family from Osaka?" Her tone sharpened, breath hitching for just a moment.

"That's correct."

Akiyama's voice was calm, but his words carried a gravity that made even a woman like Haruno sit up straighter. The Adagaki lineage was no mere rumor in elite circles. They were old money. The kind that didn't just build cities—they owned the land beneath them.

"It's an honor to receive your call. How can I be of assistance?"

"I'm interested in purchasing a villa in Chiba City. Preferably near Soubu High School. I understand your father is not only on the city council but also the president of a major development firm. I assume this is well within the Yukinoshita family's reach?"

She chuckled lightly, her tone now deferential. "Of course. That's a trivial matter. I'll handle it personally."

"Excellent. I await your good news."

"Actually, Ren-sama, would you be open to meeting in person? I'd be happy to show you some premium properties myself."

Ren raised an eyebrow, amused by her sudden initiative. "I'm already near Soubu High's front gate. If you're close, I'll wait."

"Understood. Please wait fifteen minutes. I'll be there shortly."

Click.

Ren pocketed his phone with a satisfied smile. Yukinoshita Haruno—confident, manipulative, and dazzling in public—had just spoken to him like a subordinate seeking favor.

Status truly is a cheat code in this world, he mused. Until now, he had avoided using his Adagaki name—opting instead to forge a reputation through strength, intellect, and now, his awakened system. But sometimes, power required more than raw talent. Sometimes, it needed the right bloodline to grease the gears of society.

If I were more shameless… he thought. I could easily support the Yukinoshita family's political ambitions. Back her father's run for mayor, maybe even pull strings in Tokyo. All I'd ask in return… is her company for a few nights.

He chuckled to himself. Haruno, with her cunning and pride, might still agree—if it meant advancing her family's future. Should I test the waters?

His thoughts drifted like clouds over a dark sky—equal parts amused and corrupted.

With about ten minutes to spare before Haruno's arrival, Ren walked toward a nearby café and bought himself a cup of Okinawa brown sugar milk tea. He strolled leisurely to the nearby bus stop and sat, sipping his drink as if he were just another high schooler with too much free time.

Three minutes passed.

Then, the low, luxurious purr of an engine disrupted the quiet hum of the morning.

A gleaming black Rolls-Royce Phantom rolled up to the stop, its presence dominating the area. Girls walking by stopped mid-step. Salarymen paused in confusion. Even the café staff peeked outside to glimpse the rare sight.

A sharply dressed chauffeur stepped out and approached with a slight bow.

"Akiyama-sama, the young lady is waiting. Please, this way."

Ren stood up, nodded with quiet confidence, and allowed the driver to open the door for him. As he slid into the plush leather interior, whispers rippled through the bystanders.

"Who is he...?"

"That car—wait, isn't that from the Yukinoshita family?!"

"No way… Is he Haruno-sama's fiancé or something?"

More than one girl fumbled for her phone, snapping photos and uploading them with captions like "Mysterious Ikemen picked up by Haruno-sama's car???"

But Ren didn't even glance their way.

He was already on a different level—and people were just starting to notice.

The ride was smooth and luxurious. Half an hour later, the car came to a gentle stop in front of a modern glass-fronted sales office on the outskirts of Chiba.

Outside the entrance, standing beside the sharply dressed general manager, was none other than Yukinoshita Haruno herself.

She wore a sleek beige coat over a soft lavender blouse, heels tapping the pavement with precision. Her expression was that perfect mix of elegance and charm—the kind that could disarm a politician or seduce a CEO.

As Ren stepped out of the car, she smiled.

But behind her polite mask, her eyes held a hint of curiosity—and perhaps something more dangerous.
