Chapter 3 - Dumpster Fire: 3

'What quick plot progression,' A disconnected thought flew into my mind, as if I were alien, sperate from the situation. 'A…A-there's.. there's already a regressor.'

A deep pit grew within my chest. I couldn't help but grit my teeth, I wanted to clench down on and crush that feeling. An ugly, ugly emotion crawled within me.

With a shaky breath I pushed the feeling within me compress.

My lips curled up, 'Who? Who?!'

My body trembled with excitement as I swung my head around, throwing my gaze around my surroundings.

No one looked calm. Not one person gave me the impression this was their first rodeo.

'I mean, the manicaly grinning chunni might be a candidate?'

There was a possibility that turning back the clock made the guy break down. Or he was always like this and him settling down (a little) upon system activation was him returning?

The fire user's screams were beginning to weaken. As much as I wanted to play hero, I was well aware I had no chance.

"I'm sorry." I muttered. I bowed.

I clapped my hands together as if in prayer, "I really am"

The hypocrisy.

I turned away, and torwards the creep.

I grabbed the guy's upper arm, "we need to go."

I tried to pull him up. Awakening had not changed my level of strength apparently.

I was shaky already and the tighter grip I tried to get, the weaker my hands felt.

I carefully lowered myself to loop my arms around theirs.

I dragged my feet against the pavement. Abrasive rubble scraped the soles of my shoes. The sound I expected ended up lost among the chaos.

"Please help me out here. We need to leave,"

I huffed out. The weirdo gave no response and went limper than before, lost in his own world.

"Step" by "Step." I just had to go one foot at a time. I dragged the poor creep who never even resisted in the first place.

Looking back at where I was going, at the edge of the parking lot where trees and forestry should be there was a thick wall of fog.

I wasn't sure if when I got there I'd be able to get out.

My energy was rapidly draining. My fuzzy focus wasn't able to predict the rocky and uneven environment properly enought to adapt. After several stumbles, I tripped.

I let the world take me because, 'I'm kinda tired'

'I hope when I wake up it's fixed'
