Cherreads

Chapter 84 - Her Final Vow.

"How could they betray me?! All of them! Even my beloved brother! Oh, but not you, Radahn. My beloved..." I lovingly caressed the reddened sphere, say upon the endless sea of souls that had so readily prepared themselves for my rebirth. I sighed, smiling at all the splendid ways I would remake them all. The world, at last, in radiant peace. Ever still and peaceful.

"This is not the way, My Love." A voice that never should have spoken again. I stood in a fury, golden glow turning red as my temper as Radahn hardened into form beside me. My eyes affixed quietly on the visage of my never-ending ire.

Purple locks shorn and shredded from my hands when I cast aside her filth. Arms covered and bandaged from the wounds she brought into her fate. Once perfect face now marred by so many useless tears and choked sobs. How pathetic, even her eyes shrouded to guard us from their hideousness as she stumbled quietly in those fetid and torn purple robes. "How dare you come here, foul witch."

"Of course I came. I am you, and you are me."

"You are an abomination!"

"I am the woman we always were. Not this egotistic mirror of Mother you have -" I backhanded her lying tongue before another word could spill loose.

"I do not care for lies, Trina." She clutched a swelling cheek from the 'ground' where she fell.

"I... can not.. lie... we know that..." Her cheeks turned wet, and for a moment, hesitation caught my wrists. I gazed down at this thing I once claimed I loved.

How pathetically Mortal I had been. "End it." I ordered Radahn, turning to sit once more as she cried for mercy. I waited for the satisfying weight of his blade to crash on her weak flesh, but it never came. "I said to end it, my love."

Silence.

"Radahn?" I turned, eyes widening in utter horror as I watched this miserable worm be lifted into the arms of my beloved king. He cradled her wretched form, his powerful arms daring to hold that pathetic liar as he only shpuld cradle me. "RADAHN!"

He flinched, struggling for a moment as her pathetic little fingers touched his cheek. His eyes slowly seemed to gain focus as my golden light began to leave his eyes for a pale purple pulse. "No." I growled in utter fury. "No. Radahn!" I shoured as he roared. His hand clutched his helmet, and for a moment, I swore I heard my king cry in pain. When had he grown weak? "Kill the Wretch."

He faced me and stared with a deep and intense gaze as a small portion of my lake turned lavender. "NO."

I felt my heart shatter for the last time. My cheek felt so wet, and my hands hurt with itch. I felt the desperate need to hug him, to beg him to just obey. To ignore her and come back into my arms.

But now, he, too, was revealed to be a snake. My hands became aglow with lights. My hair began to rise as Radahn took a cowardly step back. He looked so pathetic, his lip quivering and jaw clenched. How had I been so blind? "No?" I leaned forward, teeth grit in utter frustration as I faked a smile. "You do not tell me No."

"He did not. He told you no, but I am we." She coughed out as my fury built vastly. So disrespectful.

"I am speaking to MY king, worm." I clenched a hand as the sea above began to focus and aim like a thousand spotlights on them. "Do not talk again."

"Our King." She said tenderly. I lost my temper. I screamed. I shook at the bery IDEA of such a vile thing. My sky came down on that wretch with the might of an apocalypse as beams as hot as stars and crashing branches of pure light smashed, grew, erupted, and repeated again around them. I long since lost track as the lights grew too numerous for even my perfect eyes, yet for a moment, I was sure to victory.

Only to find a coiling snake, wrapped tight around the pair as I pantingly floated down. I was confused for a moment before I caught the horrible things final words. He sounded like Rykard...

"Learn.. sweet Radahn... from. My... failures..." as the ghostly figure crumbled, even its soul destroyed by my barrage. Radahn looked up, seemingly shaken by my grand assault as he clutched the wretch in closer.

"Come... Radahn..." He would be so sweet in my arms around. I spread my many beautiful arms, smiling in warm excitement. "Come back to me. I will forgive you, I promise." Surely, he knew to listen. He saw the consequences for disobedience, and he wasn't that idiotic.

I savored the hardening of his features, the way his jawline hardened with resolve. His eyes narrowed with such ferocity, and his grip on the wretch became vice like. How poetic to crush her in his arms. I would forgive him, surely, after a century or two of beatings. He wasn't perfect like me. A single stumble is absolutely fine after a thorough re-educating.

He turned and ran. I stared in shock at how utterly cowardly truly was. "YOU SNAKE!" I shrieked as beams rained down, chasing them furiously. I wailed in anger, limbs launching wave after wave of light and power I could muster, yet my own betrayal surely blinded me. He dodged my frantic tosses and shots, fading slowly as the Wretch began to unwind them from my beloved tree. My perfect world.

With tearful eyes, I watched my heart shatter as Radahn left my perfect world forever. I fell onto my knees, face buried in two hands. How did I ever trust such a coward! "RADAHN!!! SO HEAR ME! I WILL HAVE YOU BACK! I WILL HAVE YOU FOR MYSELF TO PUNISH! YOU HEAR ME, YOU COWARDLY WORM!!?? I VOW UPON MY VERY SOUL, YOU SHALL BELONG TO ME!!!"
