"Ugh, there's nothing here that's good." Diana clicked her tongue in annoyance, surveying the options presented to her. Regardless, she grabbed what she deduced was the best out of all of them before heading to the counter.
"There's nothing good here, maybe next time take me somewhere more classy." Her tone light as she put the drinks on the counter. "If you wish, but later." His tone robotic as he grabbed the drinks and paid off the teller.
...
"I can tell that Andrew is certainly a good person despite his lack of emotions. It's a shame that such a tragedy struck him at such a young age." Juliette mused, soaking in the cool breeze that brushed past her skin.
The sun was amping up it's heat making it even more refreshing as more people started to take a dip into the water. "It truly is a shame. But his acting is phenomenal, mistakable for the real deal." Cassie similar to Juliette was enjoying the overall scenery.
The sounds of laughter echoing through the air, the splashing and sloshing around of water and the upbeat mood was uplifting, capable of making one kick back and relax. Truly a beautiful and picturesque slide of motions.
"It's quite obvious that the relationship between the two of you isn't so simple. I'm not urging you in any way to stop but I do have to advise you that don't get too close to him given the emotions that he projects aren't genuine, just imitation of what the situation demands."
Cassie fell into contemplation. "Having him as a friend is fine but the idea of having him as a lover isn't ideal is all I'm saying." Juliette finished off as she took a quick glance at Cassie who was still entranced in her own world.
'What a shame it truly is. If only...' Her eyes almost closed as if on the verge of slumber. "We're back and brought something to spice up this experience!" Diana's attitude disrupting the calm and serene atmosphere.
Juliette grabbed a can of what Diana has blessed them with before reading what it contained. "How is this still legal?! There have to be at least over fifty chemicals in one drop of this junk!" Her tone full of disapproval as she put the can down on the irregular sandy ground.
Cracking one open, Diana chugged one down before momentarily spitting it all out. "It's worse than what you brought. And there are no other stores close by." Her face grimaced as she callously threw the half empty can onto the ground letting the contents spill.
Andrew picked all the cans and disposed them however by the time he got back, Diana was already up with another quest. "Oh... Andrew, there are some guys playing volleyball not far from here. We should go play." Excited as she grabbed his hand leading him to her place of query.
"Diana for crying out loud. This was meant to be a day about kicking it back and relaxing and so far, you've done nothing but push Andrew to go on with your antics. Let him rest for a while." Juliette's eyes facing the pair, her eyes shielded with the glasses she had on her.
"I don't mind." Andrew commented which only made Diana proud of herself. "See, he's fine with it so let's go now!" And just like that, the pair was off again. "We might as well go watch, I'm getting bored of sitting here and doing nothing." Cassie went on with Juliette's conclusion and the two caught up.
It would seem a crowd had formed, their attention glued to the participants and with a quick glance, they realized why. Andrew and Diana were on the same team with a few more people on both sides however Andrew was where all the focus was.
His form perfect as some of the crowd members murmured. His spikes, the reaction and the movement were all top tier not to mention his unrealistic stamina that seemed to stretch on for what felt like an eternity.
But of course playing by the rules, his movement was limited, unable to dart around the court thus the opponents made sure to avoid the ball from landing in his sector. But of course that didn't mean that the rest of his team was purely for show as they too put in effort, not to be overshadowed by Andrew.
The chemistry between them growing as time went on, given that Andrew would hand over the ball to his teammates whenever he could making him friendly to play with. While this was going, the rallies and cheers from the crowd could be heard which continued to draw even more people.
As for his allies, seeing his talent and skill were left with the option of handing him the ball making his party come to the limit of twenty five points. A few rallies later and it was clear who the champions were. Along with their victory was the loud cheers coming from those from the crowd.
From how the game progressed, it was growing abundantly clear as to who would win but to think that it would be the result of a single person was outrageous. His figure was holstered into the air, his figure seen by all as he was congratulated before put down.
"We won!" Diana exclaimed in joy as she wrapped her arms around his neck. "We do make a great team." His demeanor completely opposite to hers, calm and passive. "There's no need to be so modest, you completely carried us there."
In between their chat, some of his mates would thank him for his help and teamwork. "Please, it was thanks to all of our efforts that we won. After all it's not like I could have done it by myself." It came off as a laugh however to him, he knew that he could.
"That was an interesting game Andrew however should you be exerting yourself like this? You do have a match tommorow." Juliette raised, her eyes scanning his body. 'It's remarkable that he was able to achieve such a body. It's not too bulky and not too flat either, just in that perfect range to make it both attractive and powerful.'
"I'll take your advise and rest for the day." Diana however didn't seem all that thrilled. "Wait a minute, Andrew I'm sure that you can play one more round right?" Her tone teetering on the verge of desperation and playfulness. "I'll have to pass on that Diana. But I'm sure that Juliette or Cassie wouldn't mind taking my place."
Juliette scoffed at the idea while Cassie remained silent. "Hah..." Diana gave out a resigned sigh as the four made their way back to the spot they had originally pitched at. For the rest of the day, it was spent on admiring the scenery as Juliette finally decided to dip her figure into the water thanks to Diana's coercion.
"Are you still thinking about what Juliette told you earlier?" Andrew posed, his unbridled physique that screamed perfection now covered under a t-shirt and trunks. "Yes... It's just that..."
Her voice trailing off making it clear that she had more on her mind however she opted for silence. "Cassie, I know that you don't view these two as your friends and you don't have to if you don't want to. As for the relationship between us, it can be whatever you want it to be."
Such a response made her focus of attention drift from the two ladies who giggled as they played around in the water to the person next to him. "But what is the point if you can't feel, only imitate?" Andrew locked his eyes into hers. Boring his dark eyes into her faint blue eyes which emitted a faint blue lustre.
"Is that not what humans do? They adjust their emotions as a result of the world around them depending on that magnitude of the situation. An example of cause and effect. If so then what is the difference between one and me. But if you yearn for true emotions and not an imitation of one, then the choice is in your hands."
The world around her felt like a background noise, filter that fell short of what she was experiencing at the moment. 'The choice is in my hands.' A light muse as she pondered on his statement. "Andrew, can you make me what you are, what you feel and what you experience?"
"I assure you that what I endure is nothing short of agonizing purgatory. To numb your emotions due to your past isn't your solution but rather find someone who will help you overcome the grief and sadness that you had to go through and to help you face the future."
"... I knew that you would say that. The more I spend time with you, the more I detest my own humanity. Perceiving it as a flaw that makes this already dreary and forgettable life even worse. I can't lie anymore Andrew, I've fallen for you and these emotions I have for you are true."
"I understand that you'll simply put an act for me and... I'm content with it. I don't care for someone who will have themselves act as if they're trying to help me while they are simply trying to sate their own egos or ideologies. It's all a stage and I'm tired so I might as well douse myself in the plethora of lies."
"I know that you're telling me to find someone better that'll help with my emotions but that isn't true. It's another imitation you've picked up from those around you."
The air was cold and stiff despite the warm rays and the calming breeze. Her mind completely callous of what life would have in store for her and what decision Andrew would make. Andrew fell silent as his breathe became more pronounced thanks to the unsettling silence that had settled.
"Cassie, if this is the path that you wish to take them I will not stop you but do know that you can abandon it at any time." His signature, a flat monotone voice breaking the silence before the two locked eyes once more.
He could understand what she was going through, the pain, the agony and the struggles however it all came as simulations he ran in his mind, not actual feelings that he felt. For him, it all came as data on a screen, as if analysing and comprehending it like computer.
