c23: Powerful Space Capability
Why, during the Third Ninja World War, was Minato Namikaze able to carve out such a legendary reputation?
Simply put, it was because he mastered the space-time ninjutsu created by the Second Hokage the Flying Thunder God Technique!
The speed of instantaneous teleportation far exceeds any conventional movement technique. Just as The Flash from DC taps into the Speed Force to move faster than the eye can follow, Minato's Flying Thunder God allowed him to vanish and reappear at will, earning him the title of the fastest ninja alive.
Any enemy targeted by him could not escape. Even when surrounded, he could retreat effortlessly. Think of it like Nightcrawler from Marvel's X-Men no matter how intense the battle, Nightcrawler's teleportation allows him to avoid harm and strike with precision. Minato was the same an unpredictable blur on the battlefield.
Most elite jōnin, even Kage-level fighters, can barely defeat a peer within minutes. Yet Minato, with the Flying Thunder God, could instantly eliminate opponents of equal strength.
He wasn't merely quick he was lethal. In one famous battle, he slaughtered dozens of elite jōnin solo, akin to how Doctor Manhattan on the battlefield in DC's Watchmen could wipe out entire platoons with ease, using space manipulation and temporal awareness.
His record became so terrifying that enemy villages issued a direct command: "If you encounter Konoha's Yellow Flash, you are authorized to abandon the mission without penalty." This kind of battlefield notoriety is rare even Captain Marvel or Thor, despite their cosmic might, rarely compel enemies to flee purely out of fear of reputation.
This treatment was unprecedented since the days of Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha both of whom inspired a similar dread. But after their deaths, no one had commanded such awe until Minato.
It's fair to say that, without the Flying Thunder God, Minato would rank as a high-tier elite jōnin perhaps close to a Kage, but not quite there. However, after mastering space-time techniques, his power skyrocketed into true Kage-class, perhaps even bordering Super Shadow level a class akin to DC's Martian Manhunter, or Marvel's Silver Surfer fighters with control over vast dimensions and energies.
Continued training would have surely birthed even more powerful jutsu, evolving him into a genuine super shadow powerhouse.
Before the Naruto world's power scaling grew chaotic, there was only one clear super shadow: Nagato, wielding the Six Paths of Pain with Rinnegan's full might.
Had the Fourth Hokage survived the Nine-Tails incident, he would undoubtedly have matured into a being of super shadow caliber confirmed by his later Edo Tensei resurrection, where he showcased power rivaling the likes of the resurrected Kage.
Just like how Ryan Wong, in our world of heroes, continues to unlock his dimensional potential, Minato's legacy remains a brilliant fusion of speed, space, and raw brilliance.
During the Fourth Ninja World War, the reincarnated body of Minato Namikaze achieved harmony with the half of Kurama sealed within him, allowing him to unlock the Nine-Tails Chakra Mode.
At that point, his strength had already ascended to Super Kage level a class of power comparable to DC's Wonder Woman wielding divine armaments or Marvel's Binary form of Captain Marvel, tapping into cosmic-level energy.
But the real turning point in Minato's life wasn't mastering the Nine-Tails or running from battle it was mastering space-time ninjutsu, specifically the Flying Thunder God Technique.
Only after unlocking the potential of spatial manipulation did Minato reach the peak of his legacy. His command of the technique even allowed him to surpass Orochimaru, one of the Third Hokage's most gifted disciples, and seize the position of Fourth Hokage. Though whispers of political maneuvering existed, his overwhelming power silenced most critics.
Minato's story demonstrates just how massive the gap becomes once space ninjutsu enters the equation. The same applies to Obito Uchiha, whose abilities reached a terrifying level due to his Mangekyō Sharingan.
Obito's Mangekyō abilities were split between two eyes. His left eye, which he entrusted to Kakashi Hatake, contained the offensive Kamui a power akin to Marvel's Blink, who opens dimensional portals for swift teleportation and surprise attacks. His right eye, which he kept, housed the intangible Kamui space a parallel dimension that not only enabled teleportation but also granted intangibility.
The concept is not far off from Kitty Pryde (Shadowcat) phasing through matter in Marvel, or Martian Manhunter's intangibility in DC. But Obito took it further: by slipping into the Kamui dimension, he could evade all physical damage, making him temporarily invincible.
The teleportation principle behind Kamui is straightforward: it opens a portal from one location to another using the Kamui dimension as an intermediary.
Despite this, Kamui teleportation isn't flawless. Unlike Flying Thunder God, which functions at the speed of thought with pre-marked seals much like The Flash's instantaneous speedster portals Kamui's teleportation is slower and more complex to execute.
Additionally, the range is limited to Obito's chakra perception it's not universal, like Minato's. This restricts its strategic scope and is why Obito rarely relied on spatial warping alone during combat.
However, Kamui's real trump card is its intangibility—a power Minato didn't possess. Obito could phase parts of his body out of the material plane, rendering attacks useless. It was like having Vision's phasing ability from Marvel, but on a strategic, ninja battlefield level.
This divine-level defense allowed Obito to stroll into Konoha during the Nine-Tails incident, abduct Kushina Uzumaki and the newborn Naruto Uzumaki with ease, bypassing numerous high-level guards. Only then did the full-scale disaster of the Nine-Tails Rebellion unfold.
Even though Minato ultimately defeated him in a direct confrontation, Obito easily retreated using Kamui.
At the Five Kage Summit, Obito now acting as Tobi—openly confronted the world's five most powerful leaders. It was as if Doctor Doom walked into the Justice League Watchtower alone and dictated terms to Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and the rest. Nobody could touch him.
At that time, the concept of "Six Paths-level" powers hadn't even emerged. The Five Kage were considered the strongest beings alive and yet Obito toyed with them.
Such was the might of the Kamui dimension, especially its blurring function the ability to become untouchable.
It's clear: had Obito's Mangekyō granted him something more traditional, like Tsukuyomi or Amaterasu, he would've been slain by Minato during the Nine-Tails Rebellion.
His entire legacy was built on that one spatial ability.
That is the sheer magnitude of space-based techniques.
With them, you are on one level. Without them, you are stuck below.
Which is exactly why Ryan Wong couldn't help but sigh: "Minato Namikaze never needed rigged fights."
Because Ryan Wong understands this intimately—space abilities rewrite the battlefield.
