Chapter 37 - Danger

His system was also activated at that time.

[New Mission Issued]

[Kill the Horses of the House of the Ancient Moon]

| Now that you have taken over part of the control of the House of Shadows, you must ensure its livelihood.

The House of the Ancient Moon, a direct rival for control of the territories of the Industrial Zone, is trying to make you lose more than 5 billion Jens, which endangers the existence of the House of Shadows.

They want to poison and kill the Horses sponsored by the House of Shadows.

Don't let them do it!

| Kill the Horses of the House of the Ancient Moon to prevent them from participating, causing them a great loss.

| Horses Killed: 0/2.

| Mission x 10: 9/10.

| Previous Reward: 45 System Coins.

| New Reward: 450 System Coins.

[Controlling a Criminal Organization is not only achieved with money; the status and respect you can earn among society are also crucial for everyone to fear and respect you]

'As expected...'

If he succeeded, this would secure him 45 more Stat Points. Despite his low level, with this, he could cement himself as a powerful young man. Though he was unaware of the stats of those his age and was also unaware of the stats that those he would be facing had, he had to at least try.

Jackvin, Iseni, and Dicson looked at him in shock.

"You want to be part of the mission? That's pretty dangerous." Jackvin said.

"Leaders of the organization have never been allowed to participate in the organization's missions because of their high levels of danger. That's not appropriate." Dicson continued.

But Louis shrugged his shoulders.

"You haven't had a leader who is an Awakened One either, right? I'm different. Besides, if something happened to me, you just have to bring Fraid back. It's a good deal." He replied.

Somehow, that brought the three in front of him to their senses.

He was right in everything he said.

Jackvin spoke, "Hahaha, Mr. Carwine, we don't need a loser with us. So Fraid will never step on this table again, as his seat now belongs to you." He then looked at the other two.

"Alright, I think we can leave this to Mr. Carwine. He is a powerful Awakened One; if he made it this far, he has talent. Since he wants it, why deny him?"

Dicson and Iseni seemed to understand his intentions, so they both smiled.

"Good. Then it will stay that way." Dicson looked at Louis once more. "Mr. Carwine, we will gather the rest of the group who will go with you and pay them a good price to avoid betrayal."

"Good."

Then Iseni spoke up. "You will leave on Saturday morning, since the race is on Sunday morning, it takes a few hours to get there with our best horses. Since we don't know where you live, I hope you can arrive at Factory A before 8 a.m."

Louis nodded. "Perfect. is there anything else to discuss, or shall we save the cordialities for later?"

"Mr. Carwine, how about having your proper welcome and presentation of all your territories, by the time you return from the mission? Since we will be busy searching for several loyal and powerful Awakened, we won't have much time to show you everything you need." Jackvin suggested.

Louis smiled. "Good." Then he stood up. "Then we'll see each other again." He said before turning to leave with Jessy.

"See you later, Mr. Carwine. I hope you have resounding success in the mission." Jackvin dismissed him. Dicson and Iseni only gave small parting words.

"Fucking bastard." Iseni grumbled the moment the door closed.

Jackvin's countenance visibly declined as well. From a friendly smile to indifference and annoyance.

Dicson remained the same and was the first to speak.

"What shall we do?" he asked.

Jackvin sat back down. He poured himself some wine and drank it straight.

"We can't let him stay in the organization."

"Yes. An Awakened One among the ranks of the four leaders would break the entire chain of command."

"Besides." Iseni spoke up. "That will break the balance with the other houses. Though we are at war with them, it is only a necessary war for mutual benefit. If we let him break the balance, they will not be quiet and will move."

Jackvin nodded. "If that were to happen, it could possibly upset that old man."

"Even the R-Lockward have difficulty dealing with him and his men. I'm afraid that will destroy us." Dicson added.

"Plus, it would completely change how the city works right now. Chaos would break loose, and the entire Southern region would become chaotic. If that old man is disturbed, the other madman in the North will surely move, and if the two of them move, Lockward won't stand idly by, same with those in the Capital." Iseni leaned back in his chair to consider several things before speaking again.

"We will cease to be useful."

"..."

They were both speechless, for what he was saying made sense. In the face of the movement of such powerful people, small mafias like them had to shut up, disappear, or be destroyed.

After all, they are not powerful enough to withstand such powers. Every city has its hidden dragon, and Velharthe is no exception.

And the one here is a very... annoying one. Easy to discomfort and difficult to calm.

That's why his movements had to be careful.

"So, we agree that we should destroy him?" Dicson asked.

Jackvin nodded.

"I don't know what family he could be from to be so young and so rich, but as long as we do things in moderation and from the shadows, all will be well." He grabbed a parchment immediately and began to write down everything he planned to

Iseni and Dicson were surprised at how quickly he wanted to move.

"You want to do it this weekend?" they asked in shock.

"Yes. It's now or never. When he has contact with the other houses and they realize he's an Awakened One, he'll cause waves throughout the city. That's why we can't let him come back."

'He's right...' They both thought, considering things very carefully.

It was such a fast mission that there were high risks of error. If they made the slightest mistake, the first to die could be them, or they could unleash terror.

Still, they both nodded.

"I'll move my men." Iseni said and then looked at Dicson. "I need you to get me those magic bullets from last time. They will be needed. I'll talk to Fraid."

"Haha, count me in."

Jackvin smiled and stood up. "I have to talk to someone. Go on with the meeting without me and plan everything, " he said before leaving.
