Chapter 98 - Chapter 98: The Plan Succeeded

Link almost without any hesitation extended his wand and shouted, "Left arm separation!"

Bang!

A burst of invisible force exploded between Lucius and Weasley, directly pushing the two of them apart.

The only difference was that Weasley was first caught by his sons, while Lucius heavily crashed into the bookshelf, and his head was even hit several times by the falling books.

This made him look even more miserable.

Draco quickly stepped forward and helped him up. "So that's how it is, Link. Looks like you're with them."

Lucius said through gritted teeth, but upon hearing this, Link only shook his head coldly and said, "If I were you, I wouldn't say such a stupid thing."

What Link said was serious. Because if the fight continued, the one at a disadvantage would definitely be Lucius. You had to know there were 6 Weasleys standing there. 6 against 2, the Malfoy family was basically doomed to lose.

Lucius obviously didn't realize this point, but he also didn't continue to argue with Link. He only glared fiercely at Link, then picked up the worn-out book he had taken from the little red-haired girl's cauldron, acting like he was going to stuff it back in.

"Take it, you poor little girl. This is the best thing your father can give you!" Lucius said viciously.

Seeing this, Link's eyes lit up. Because he clearly understood that the diary containing Voldemort's remnant soul must have been mixed in with that textbook.

Link moved swiftly, suddenly grabbed Lucius' wrist and said, "I think you'd better keep this yourself, Uncle Lucius. That would be best for everyone, wouldn't it?"

As Link spoke, he also gave Lucius a meaningful glance. This made Lucius, who was already feeling guilty, even more flustered.

He stared at Link for a moment, then suddenly broke free from Link's hand with a cold snort, and walked toward the door with Draco.

Seeing this, Link also let out a sigh of relief. Feeling much better, he said to Lucius' departing figure, "I'll be telling my mother about what happened today. I believe it won't take long before the news of you being beaten by Mr. Weasley in Flourish and Blotts spreads through the whole circle."

Link's words made Lucius pause for a moment, but only for a moment. Soon after, he and Draco quickened their steps and left Flourish and Blotts.

And right after the Malfoy father and son disappeared, the people who had been checking Mr. Weasley's condition finally came back to their senses and surrounded Link.

"Link, you shouldn't have interfered."

"That's right, we've been wanting to beat up the Malfoys for a long time. Just now, if you hadn't stopped us, they would've already been lying flat!"

The ones speaking were the twins, George and Fred. Seeing their regretful expressions clearly showed that they were upset for not jumping into the fight sooner.

To this, Link could only shake his head speechlessly. This pair of brothers clearly didn't realize the seriousness of the situation.

Lucius, who came from Slytherin, wasn't someone broad-minded or big on dignity. He only believed in achieving his goals by any means necessary.

You could tell just from the original book, when Hagrid's hippogriff accidentally injured Draco, Lucius went all out trying to get it killed.

Normal families would never do something so low.

This fight at Flourish and Blotts was the same. If Lucius hadn't already felt guilty, he definitely would've used this incident to make trouble for Mr. Weasley.

That wouldn't be good news for the Weasley family. And Mrs. Weasley clearly understood this truth too. So just as George and Fred finished speaking, she gave each of them a whack on the back of the head.

After George and Fred quieted down, she then changed to a smiling face and said to Link, "You must be Link, right? Harry and Ron have mentioned you many times. This time, it's really all thanks to you."

"Molly is right. I acted on impulse this time."

Mr. Weasley was also dragged over by Mrs. Weasley to give thanks. It was just that, from his slightly stiff expression, it was clear he was still somewhat dissatisfied.

To this, Link simply chuckled and said, "It's nothing, Mr. Weasley, Mrs. Weasley. It was just a small effort."

After saying that, he looked at the red-haired little girl standing to the side and asked, "Is this your youngest daughter?"

"Yes, her name is Ginny. She's Ron's little sister." Mrs. Weasley smiled and patted Ginny's hair, saying, "Ginny, come say hello to Brother Link."

The little girl Ginny still seemed to fear Link. She hid behind Harry, with a pitiful expression, and said, "My book…"

As soon as Ginny said this, everyone's expression at the scene froze. Especially Mr. Weasley.

Ginny had reached the age to start school this year. Due to the Weasley family's poverty, and the fact that Lockhart's books were expensive and couldn't be bought second-hand, they originally planned for Ginny to use her brothers' old books in other subjects to save money.

But now, it seemed that plan had fallen through.

Link naturally also noticed the change in the atmosphere. He smiled and slowly squatted down, speaking to Ginny, who was hiding behind Harry with only half her face showing and sneaking timid glances at him, "It's okay. How about big brother buys you a new book? A whole set."

"Really!?" Ginny's eyes immediately widened, but in the end, she didn't agree. Instead, she turned to look at Mr. Weasley.

"Thank you, Link, but I think we can still afford one book."

Mr. Weasley's face looked a bit sour, clearly still affected by Lucius' earlier mocking.

Seeing this, Mrs. Weasley glared at him again, quickly stepping up to smooth things over, "Link, don't misunderstand. Arthur meant no harm. We appreciate your kindness, but we really don't feel right accepting it."

Hearing this, Link didn't reply immediately, but looked at Ginny standing to the side. The little girl's mood had clearly dropped again, and Harry was there comforting her.

Link sighed, then secretly signaled to George and Fred with a subtle gesture before turning to Mrs. Weasley and said, "Alright then, Mrs. Weasley, I'm very sorry to trouble you."

"The one who should apologize is us…"

Mrs. Weasley had just started to speak when George, under the excuse of checking Mr. Weasley's condition, pulled him away.

And when they had gone a little farther, Fred then winked at Link proudly and said, "Link, we didn't misunderstand your meaning, did we?"

"Not at all. You two are the smartest people I've ever met," Link said with a smile, then pulled out a small pouch from his cloak and handed it to Fred. "Take this, go buy Ginny her books."
