'This can't be happening.'
'She said no. She actually said no.'
Steve's voice broke through the silence, barely a whisper.
"W-why won't you help me?"
His head lowered, fists clenched tight at his sides. Confusion and desperation surged through him, boiling over.
"You told me I had potential." he muttered, his voice trembling.
"You were the one who said I could become something. So why… why won't you help me now?"
The Queen Witcher said nothing at first. She stood still, eyes unreadable, before slowly rising to her feet. Her footsteps echoed as she walked toward him, calm and measured.
But Steve couldn't lift his gaze.
His thoughts crashed against one another, chaotic and spiraling. If she wouldn't train him… then who would? How could he ever hope to survive the mission? He had no guidance, no assurance, no edge.
'If she says no, then what's left?'
