Isadora seemed genuinely excited when she heard the mention of her brother's "girlfriend." Her eyes sparkled, but she quickly suppressed her enthusiasm like an obedient child, knowing the conversation was serious. She didn't want to interrupt.
Igaris clicked his tongue, realizing there was no point in trying to fool a mother's eyes.
Just like his original mother, Roxanne could read his face like an open book.
"Honestly, I'm surprised by your ability," she said, her voice carrying both wonder and unease. "It's terrifying, in a way—knowing you can tame even lifeless machines. I don't know how it works, or how you received it, and I won't ask. That's your secret to keep."
