"Is this all that's left for me?" Alpha muttered under his breath, as the scorching sand slipped between his toes. He took a heavy breath and gazed at the horizon. Nothing but desert and silence.
He kept walking, occasionally hopping to avoid the heat. Pressing his lips into a thin line, he grumbled,
"Damn this body. I need dragon scales, not fragile human skin."
An hour later, the ruins of a scorched city came into view. Half-collapsed towers, cracked ground, and walls covered in black dust. Alpha stood at the broken gate, staring inward.
Suddenly, the ground trembled. Twisted sand creatures emerged from beneath it. They made no sound just attacked.
Alpha turned swiftly, stepped back, and delivered a solid kick to the nearest creature. Its body exploded but reformed within seconds.
He muttered,
"This is a problem."
