Chapter 156 - Chapter 156: Heading Towards the Resistance Camp

She continued sitting while holding the cloak for a while. A2 saw the flames of the campfire had gotten much smaller. Thinking for a moment, she grabbed two pieces of wood from under herself and threw them in. Watching the flames grow larger again, she actually pressed her lips together and smiled.

Then she turned her head and glanced at Aiden. Remembering what he said earlier, she raised her arm and sniffed it. There really was a strange smell.

"If I were a human, what should I do when I smell this scent? Frown? Then like he said, take a bath?" A2 thought for a while, then frowned.

Afterward, she stood up with difficulty, wobbling as she walked deeper into the forest. The moisture sensor inside her body told her there was a stream nearby.

Yes, she had decided to take a bath. A girl weighing nearly 150 kg aturally made quite a commotion when walking, and Aiden hadn't been in a deep sleep either, so shortly after A2 left, he opened his eyes. Looking in the direction A2 had gone, he was a bit puzzled, not understanding what she was going to do.

After thinking about it, Aiden felt a bit uneasy and got up to follow.

Of course, to avoid being discovered, he activated his Mechanic skill, Camouflage, which allowed him to blend with the surrounding environment for a short time. It was a form of optical camouflage that also blocked scans from various sensors. A very practical skill.

Following A2 for a short distance, Aiden heard the sound of running water. But he still didn't understand what she was going to do, until he saw A2 reach the stream and start taking off her clothes. Only then did he realize A2 actually wanted to bathe.

"Is she really that concerned about what I said earlier?" Aiden thought to himself, but his eyes didn't blink as he stared at the now-naked A2.

Honestly speaking, this was already considered peeping, a very bad behavior.

At this moment, Aiden really wanted to turn around, but his body seemed to disobey. So he simply started admiring boldly.

To tell the truth, A2's figure wasn't particularly voluptuous. Compared to the standard model, which is 2B, she was tall and slim, but her backside was very perky and full.

It was just a pity that A2 had her back to him, so he couldn't see the front. And due to years of combat and a lack of maintenance, A2's body had areas of discoloration and wear. It wasn't perfect, but this battle-damaged version of A2 was still beautiful, with a kind of broken beauty.

It wasn't until A2 entered the water that Aiden pinched the space between his eyebrows, hesitating whether to continue watching or… continue watching.

However, he had clearly forgotten something: Camouflage has a time limit.

In the game, camouflage only lasted a few dozen seconds. In reality, it lasted nearly ten times longer, but that was still only a few minutes. Once the time was up, his figure was completely exposed.

And the moment he appeared, A2 sensed him. Thinking it was an enemy, she immediately stood up and turned around, then froze.

Aiden also froze. He hadn't expected the camouflage to wear off so quickly, and even more unexpected was, how he was going to explain this.

"Ha, I… I was just worried something might happen to you." After thinking for a bit, Aiden opened his mouth with difficulty. Though he knew the excuse was weak, he couldn't look away. Aside from the smooth, snow-white skin, he was still marveling inwardly: So even androids have those two red dots, huh!

A2 didn't speak. She just stared blankly at Aiden, but what she was thinking was, what should she do now?

'If a human is seen naked by the opposite sex, what would they do?' A2's eyes were dazed, her mind replaying countless fragmented memories, which magnified again and again in her head.

Eventually, she took action. She raised her hands to cover her chest, crouched down in the water, and said coldly: "Have you seen enough? Shouldn't you turn around?"

Only then did Aiden come back to his senses and quickly turned around. But in his mind, he was still thinking, A2's front was quite perky. Not as full as 2B, but that doesn't mean she had a bad figure.

As the sounds of splashing water and putting on clothes rang out, A2 spoke again, "You can turn around now."

But at this point, Aiden didn't dare turn at all. He ran away like he was escaping.

When A2 returned to the campsite, Aiden was already lying on the bed with his eyes closed, but his erratic breathing showed he was far from calm.

A2 rested her chin on her hand and looked at Aiden. For some reason, she really wanted to laugh.

Pressing her lips together, A2 said calmly, "If it were in the past, what you did would be considered a crime, you'd have to go to jail for it."

"That was the past." Aiden muttered, as if defending himself.

"Androids can feel shy too?" A2's blue eyes shimmered with starlight.

"Because I'm different from ordinary androids." Aiden really wanted to pull a blanket from his system space to cover himself. Though he had been through countless battles and was an experienced player, this was different. He got caught peeking…

———

Aiden didn't know when he fell asleep, but he did know when he woke up. When the sun was already high in the sky, shining on his body, he had no choice but to crawl out of bed.

Even though the whole night had passed, the campfire's flame hadn't diminished at all. It was still as strong as the night before. But all the wood under A2 that had been used for insulation was gone.

"Good morning." Aiden looked up at the sky. He knew it was already late but still said it.

"Good morning." A2 replied flatly. She didn't turn to look at Aiden. She just unwrapped the cloak around her body, revealing her tattered clothes underneath.

"Haha, I think I had a dream last night, I dreamed of you bathing." Aiden scratched his head, trying to explain.

"Never heard of androids dreaming." The android girl looked at Aiden, lips pressed together. Her tone was flat, but there was a faint smile on her face, completely different from her usual cold and mature demeanor.

"Well, now you've seen it." Aiden got up as he spoke. He had slept in his clothes, so he didn't need to get dressed. He then pulled out a jungle machete and stirred the dirt onto the campfire.

Preventing forest fires is everyone's responsibility.

To be honest, he had barely gotten up when Aiden already felt hungry. But he didn't dare eat anything. Dreams could still be explained, those were mysterious and abstract. But eating was different, that was too real. He wasn't sure if androids needed food or what kind of energy they used.

However, just as he was hesitating, the android girl took out a few wild fruits from who knows where and placed them in front of her. Then she took one and bit into it.

This action stunned Aiden. He asked, confused, "You eat food too?"

He used the word "too," giving himself some leeway.

"Did your digestive system break down just like your memory bank?" A2 looked at Aiden, puzzled. "Or are you entirely solar-powered?"

Aiden didn't know how to respond. Thinking about it, he leaned over, picked up a wild fruit in front of A2, bit into it, chewed twice expressionlessly, then turned away and frowned.

'So sweet. Sickeningly sweet…'

"Seems your digestive system's still functioning." A2 didn't see Aiden's expression and said to herself, "These wild fruits are rich in sugar. If your digestive system isn't damaged, one is enough to support a day's energy consumption."

"Mm-hmm!" Aiden just nodded. With fruit this sweet, if a diabetic person ate one, they'd need multiple insulin shots.

After frowning his way through breakfast, it was time to hit the road again. A2 said there was a resistance camp for androids somewhere in the forest.

Aiden quickly packed his things. A2 watched him without saying a word. After Aiden finished packing, she reached out her hands toward him.

"You still can't walk?" Aiden asked the android girl in confusion. Although he was very strong, carrying a 150 kg girl was still quite the burden.

"To recover full walking function will take at least five days. I can walk now, but very slowly." A2 wobbled to her feet. A weak android was no different from a human.

"But last night…" Aiden stopped mid-sentence. A2's actions last night had startled him. If she had just let him look, that would be one thing, but in the end, she covered her chest and hid in the water. That made him afraid to treat her as an android anymore.

"What about last night? What else did you dream?" A2's eyes were emotionless and unreadable.

"Nothing, haha… wait a sec, I'll make you a chair." Aiden tactfully dropped the topic. Androids were too hard to read. If it were Alice or Tifa, that'd be easier. They were human, he could deduce their thoughts. But androids…

Aiden wasn't an android. He couldn't understand.

Aiden uncovered the leaves on the wood, pulled out some hemp rope, and started crafting a chair, a chair that could be carried. After all, carrying a 150 kg android wasn't just uncomfortable for him, it wasn't comfortable for her either.

Soon, a reclining chair was finished. Aiden carried A2 and placed her on it. But before he could ask how it felt, the chair groaned and then collapsed with a crash under the weight.

A 150 kg girl, truly terrifying.

"You must've read a lot of human books, so you forgot the fact that androids are just machines." If it had been a human woman, she would've been furious. But A2 just spoke flatly.

Aiden quietly sighed, then turned around and carried A2 on his back. His gloved hands touched her now-clean but exposed thighs without stirring any feelings, he just marveled at how slim the YoRHa Type A model really was.

A2's hands naturally crossed and hung in front of Aiden's chest. That made him afraid to breathe too heavily, in case she felt his hot breath. Then he said, "Hold on tight, we're setting off."

A2 said the android resistance camp was in the forest, and not far, very close. But Aiden had been walking nearly a full day and still hadn't seen any signs of android activity, making him wonder if A2 had remembered wrong.

"My memory bank is the most advanced. Even later models can't match how long mine has preserved data." A2 explained when Aiden questioned her.

She'd been giving directions all day. Aiden barely walked a bit before she'd point a direction, telling him where to go. Eventually, Aiden started suspecting that A2's memory had issues and that she was making him walk in circles.

"Androids shouldn't hold grudges, right?" Aiden wondered suspiciously. He suspected A2 might be getting revenge for what happened last night, but that was too human. It didn't match the basic programming of androids.

Still, Aiden didn't ask directly. Honestly, carrying a beautiful girl on his back, even if she weighed 150 kg, still felt pretty great. Especially since A2 had been his favorite in the game.

"How much longer till we reach that camp you mentioned?" After walking another hour, Aiden couldn't help but ask.

"Soon. If the direction is right, we should arrive tonight." A2 swung her legs as she spoke. She hadn't felt this carefree in years. Her personality programming in the chip seemed to be resurfacing.

"Let's hope so." Aiden pouted, adjusted A2's position upward, and then felt the softness on his back, so comfortable he nearly let out a sound.

'Even if she was an android, that part is still soft!'

"I don't want wild fruit tonight. Can we get some meat?" Aiden asked as he walked.
