Lyra's POV
Pain rang through the whole of my head as I opened my eyes. At first, all I saw was a blurry veil of black. Soon, it lifted, revealing a tall but small steel cage with strong iron bars. Beyond the steel cage were huge stone walls and a big wooden door.
I grabbed my head and winced sharply as Lira screamed in my head. "A cage," she scoffed. "These bloody demons are belittling me. We should be able to break away from this bloody cage."
I raised my hands as she urged me to, and I jerked them as I pushed in the direction of the steel bars, but nothing happened. No greenish glow on my palms. Nothing shooting from my palms to the bars. Nothing. "What the hell happened?" Lira almost split my skull in two with her scream.
Lora sighed. "You think Varin and those two demonesses will keep you alone in a cage you can escape from after capturing you? The cage must be fortified with a hex or something," she said.
