A boy with dark skin and a furry black monkey tail opened his eyes with a start. He looked around frantically after rubbing his head. His head really hurt for some reason. This boy is Tohra, a saiyan (not that anyone other than his family knows that lolz).
Tohra finds that he's laying face first in a crater on the side of the road. Apparently his landing had caused quite a crowd to gather before they dispersed upon the boy not moving for awhile. When he did finally wake up, the only one nearby was a delivery person who had stopped just to make certain he was okay.
" Hey kid, you alright?," a man in what looked like a delivery man's clothes asked.
The man had a dark jacket on, green shirt with a tan sweater, beige pants, a black belt, peach colored skin, and black shoes on. He offered a hand to the boy, which he accepted.
"... I suppose I am.. My head is killing me for some reason though..," Tohra said rubbing his head to soothe his throbbing headache.
The man offered tohra a pack of ice to help with his headache.
"Here, use this kid.," the man said.
Tohra took the pack and was able to soothe his head with it.
"Thank.. you... sir..,"Tohra said.
"No problem, kid.," the man said back.
He looked at the boy for a second before asking him something.
"Hope this ain't too personal, but uh.. where are you from kid? Haven't seen anyone like you around here.," he asked.
"Oh, I'm from.. pretty far away. I.. looking .. I mean... ahem! I am looking for someone. Perhaps you've seen her?," Tohra said with a bit of difficulty.
This caught the man's attention as he raised a curious eyebrow.
"This girl..she important to ya kid?," He asked.
" Well yes of course. She's my only sister, after all.," Tohra answered.
Now he understood, this teenaged boy was just looking for his sister. They probably got separated from what he could tell.
"Maybe I can help ya find her uh-?," he said before realizing that he never got the young man's name.
Realizing that the man was waiting for him to say his name he did just that. "Tohra. My name is Tohra.," He said shaking the man's hand.
Smiling, the man returned the favor. "Most people call me Tony Pops, but you can just call me Tony.," the man known as Tony said.
Tony continued. " So what's your sister's name? I may be able to offer some info then. ," tony asked.
Tohra appeared thoughtful for a few moments before answering. "Her name is Winter. She has silver hair, eyes like mine, black tail, tiger pelt around her waist, armor.. kinda like mine.," Tohra explained.
Tony thought about it, but no one he saw matched that description. This caused him to furrow his brow in confusion.
" Sorry about that, kid. Can't say that I've seen anyone like that.," He said.
Tohra's face noticeably fell at this. "Oh.. that right?,"the saiyan said disappointed.
"Tell ya what. Since you're not from around here, why don't I drive you into the city? You can look and ask around there if ya like.," Tony said.
Tohra perked up at this. He was surprised, but happy too. " REALLY?! Oh I uh.. I mean, you would do that?," he asked.
Tony smiled.
"Course I would. Besides uh... you're gonna want to get some more um... "normal" looking clothes anyways. No civilian wears armor like that.," He said pointing to Tohra's saiyan armor.
Tohra noticed what he was referring to.
"Oh. Ha ha yeah, guess you're right.," Tohra said.
He then took off the top part of his armor so he just had the black muscle shirt that was underneath on now. This barely did enough to conceal his muscles, but he could afford to look a little more normal he guessed.
"Guess that'll do. Come on, hop in the back of the satsmobile. I can drive ya.," tony said.
"I don't have anything to pay you with though..," the dark teen said.
Tony just waved it off.
"Ah don't worry about it. On the house. 'Sides I gotta go into the city to make some deliveries anyways.," Tony told him.
" Thanks so much. You're sure I can't repay you somehow?," he asked.
"Like I said earlier, don't worry about it kid. Looking out for young people like you.. it's kind of a hobby.," Tony said.
And with that Tohra climbed into the bed of Tony's satsmobile truck and headed deeper into the city. Hopefully, he'd find his sister there with some luck.
Elsewhere...
A slightly darker skinned girl with silver hair, eyes, and a black tail walked around the streets of republic city as if she was looking for someone. She also had a tiger's pelt around her waist, blue pants, white and gold boots, and wore a simple crimson shirt. This was Winter, Tohra's older sister.
"Gah, where could he have gone?!," she berated herself.
Winter blamed herself for getting separated from her younger brother, she was supposed to look after him. She had asked several people if they had seen anyone regarding the description of her brother she gave to them. So far, no such luck. She could still faintly sense him, but it was too hard to get a read on her brother's ki signature since there were so many around her. Still, she hoped she would find him soon.
That's when she heard some commotion taking place close to her. She saw a girl with dark skin, blue eyes, and what looked like tribal wear for clothes. She was being ganged up on by a trio of thugs. She had no doubt the girl could handle herself well, but one couldn't be too careful.
Winter stalked up and gained the attention of the thugs.
"Now that's not very nice.. 3 boys against one girl? How about we make it even a little more? 2 of us against you 3?, " winter said smirking.
One of the thugs in the car close to them came out and started stalking towards her. He towered over her before she impassively looked at him, emotionless.
"Perhaps you don't know who we are girly? Were with the triple threat triad and you're on our turf, so scram little girl before someone gets hurt!," the thig said laughing before something came from behind the silver haired girl and wacked him in the face.
"Move, or I'll do it for you.," Winter said.
"Ow! Now you'll get it!," he said grabbing her tail.
Big mistake this just made her mad.
"💢 THAT'S MY TAIL YOU JERK! KEEP YOUR GRUBBY HANDS OFF OF IT!," Winter shouted before kneeing him in the gut hard.
This caused the thug to release her tail which she then rubbed after it had been squeezed hard.
"Why ... you... you'll pay little girl!," the thug said.
Another mistake. Without even a word, winter zipped up to him and backfisted him into the window of a nearby shop breaking it.
"That's why I said to move it, you insect.," she said impassively staring at the others.
The other thug moved forward and tried to earth bend towards the new girl. Instead of dodging, she held her hand flat as an orb of ki appeared. She discharged it at the slab of earth thrown at her, causing it to shatter.
Korra widened her eyes at this.
"What the-?! She's... a light bender?!," Korra thought surprised.
She was right to be surprised though, light benders were supposed to be super rare. There really weren't all that many and they rarely EVER showed themselves in front of people.
And yet.. here one was, or at least what she assumed was one. Light benders were different than she expected them to be though. Seeing the earth bender afraid, the saiyan girl sped forward and elbowed him in the stomach before quickly using her tail like a whip and slapping the thug through the window of a local storefront. The water bender shot some water towards Korra who just redirected the water, froze his head inside of it, and then kicked him against the front of his vehicle shattering the ice and knocking him out.
The crook who was a fire bender went next and attacked Korra, only to have his own fire redirected back into his face and a lot more powerful too. The force knocked him back and sent him flying through a store window.
Winter smirked and decided to compliment the girl, she was thoroughly impressed with her.
"Not too shabby. You're pretty good, ya know. My name is Winter, what's yours?," Winter replied asking.
Korra smiled and shook her hand.
"Korra. Nice to meet you, Winter." Korra replied.
"Likewise.," winter replied.
Just then, the two heard some rustling from the thugs that were knocked out. Turning the two teens saw the thugs getting away in their car. Winter tried stopping Korra, but it was too late.
"Wait Korra! Don't be has-!," winter said before trailing off.
"You're not getting away!," Korra said grunting as she used her earth bending to flip the car and send it crashing towards the side of the road.
The crooks were then tied up just as the police arrived. They arrived by car and by the airship that patrols republic city. Korra was of course enthralled at the sight of metal benders as they came down. Winter had a confused look, but also a sinking feeling that this wouldn't go as well as Korra thought it would.
"We caught the bad guys for you officer.," Korra said.
The police then tied up the criminals as the officer in charge spoke to Korra. He just realized what she said. She said "we", that implied someone else was with her.
That's when he spotted winter, surely this was who the dark skinned girl meant by who helped her catch the crooks. Winter could already sense that this wasn't a favorable situation. She joined Korra and the situation turned out exactly how she expected it to.
The officer looked at them and scowled.
"You're under arrest, you two!," the officer said.
Korra looked surprised, but also offended. "What?! But we caught the bad guys for you! They were criminals picking on an innocent shop owner, so we just helped him out.," Korra said offended.
"Yeah and it looks like you did some damage of shops on your own. Arrest her!," the officer said.
Korra whistles and out comes, naga, her polar bear-dog. After knocking over a few of the metal bending police, Korra takes off on Naga.
The officer looks to winter who just raised her hands, she knew this was not the time to be picking fights with the police. Plus, she needed to learn more about republic city since it was her and her younger brother's first time here.
"Are you going to try and escape too?," the police captain asked.
"I could. But I know better than to pick a fight with police. Besides, you guys are in the right here. It's not my job to hand down justice within city limits, that's the police's job. You can trust me, I won't resist.," Winter said.
Police chase takes place just as it does in the cannon story.
In another part of the city...
It's been abit since Tohra and Tony parted ways and now the teen is seen asking around about his sister. So far he hadn't had any luck, but he kept looking. Well that was until he heard police sirens, wondering what all the commotion was about he decided to follow the police.
On his way there, he almost knocked over a man with brown eyes and black goatee dressed in robes consisting of air bending garb... not that he knew what an airbender was.
"I am ... sorry sir..," Tohra said.
The man dusted himself off an offered a kind smile towards the boy.
"Please try not to trouble yourself over it chil-.. I mean... young man.," the man said.
This was Tenzin, the son of the previous avatar and currently was a Councilman for the city. He took one look at Tohra and almost immediately slapped himself for calling him a child. This teen was huge and was at the very least twice his size physically speaking.
Tohra managed to trail Tenzin to the police headquarters where a very displeased Lin Beifong was reprimanding Korra and.. another girl. When he had a better look, he could tell immediately who it was. It was his sister, winter. But how'd she end up at a police station? He just watched as they continued to talk, he'd make sure he that it was the right opportunity later. Right now wasn't the time.
Tenzin walked in and negotiated for Korra's release. The two would have left if it wasn't for one small problem. It was the girl with silver hair, eyes, and a black... tail? Korra had to run her eyes again to make certain she wasn't missing anything here or her eyes weren't playing tricks on her. Nope, it was definitely still there in front of her. Even Lin had to stop and do a double take to make sure she was seeing that right. This girl had a... tail?
She then looked towards Lin and asked for a favor.
"Chief Beifong, I have a favor to ask of you.," Winter asked.
Lin just looked at her, nudging her to continue. She did.
"I know that i can't make up for being involved in that... incident earlier but if I could work off the property damage-," Winter started but was then interrupted by Lin.
"Yeah, no.," Lin snapped back.
Korra noticed the girl's tail sagged at this and her face noticeably fell.
"Oh... I see then... Well if it's not to much trouble could I contact someone for me to tell them where I am?," Winter asked.
Lin sighed. "Alright. Who is it you need to contact?," Lin asked.
"My brother actually. See, I've been looking for him ever since I came to the city. We got separated. ," Winter said.
Lin raised her eyebrow in mild surprise. "Your brother? I just assumed you came alone since you were caught. But... from what my men tell me, you didn't even try to resist being arrested. Most people don't do that.," she said.
This caused Winter to rub the back of her head and nervously smile.
"Ha ha well.. it's not really my place to be handing down Justice in the domain of the police so I was in the wrong acting like some vigilante hero. I'd rather not get into a fight with police anyways.," Winter replied.
Lin, Tenzin, and Korra all just stared at her. Lin couldn't help but to crack a faint smile at this.
This girl was certainly interesting, no one who was caught by the police would have that kind of logic or explanation. Plus, she could tell that the girl was sincere.
Lin sighed again, she couldn't keep this girl here. She was too dang honest! She'd spend an entire week at the station if necessary.
" Tenzin, you can take this one with you too. This girl is far too honest to keep cooped up in here.," Lin said scoffing.
She then left the room as another officer came in with Naga.
"Excuse me miss, is this your polar bear dog?," the officer asked.
Naga then licks him as his hair twists into a swirling pattern.
Later....
Korra is then seen leading Naga towards a boat that is most likely headed for her home. Before she boards though, Jinora, Ikki, and Milo surround and greet her.
"Korra!", they all said greeting her as they hug her.
Winter just looks on as she's reminded of a time from her childhood upon seeing Korra right at that moment.
"Are you coming to live with us, Korra?," Tenzin's daughter Ikki asked.
Korra shook her head. "No, I'm afraid not. See I have to go home now.," Korra said sadly.
This caused the three air benders faces to frown. She rubbed their heads in a comforting gesture.
"It's ok you guys, really. This won't be the last time I see you. It.. just won't be for awhile is all.," she said standing up and walking towards the boat.
Winter took this as her cue to catch up with Korra, she decided to go with. She'd always wanted to see what the southern water tribe was like. Before they could board the ship though, Tenzin spoke up.
"Wait. I know that I've said you should properly finish your avatar training and you do need to. I'm needed here but... since my father Aang passed on, the world has been out of balance. Republic city needs it's Avatar too. I will train you in the ways of air bending on air temple island.," Tenzin said (I know that's not word for word what he said, but hey it's getting the point across lol so please bear with it for now).
Korra smiled and pumped her fists in the air before realizing she should thank Tenzin properly.
"Oh! It will be an honor to master Tenzin.," Korra said bowing respectfully.
Winter then gained everyone's attention by waving at them.
"Hate to ruin the moment, does that include me?," Winter asked.
Tenzin tried addressing her but was blanking on her name. Winter took this as a sign to introduce herself.
"Oh right! My bad. My name is Winter. It's nice to properly meet you, master Tenzin.," Winter said.
Tenzin nodded and greeted her as well. "It is very nice to meet you, miss Winter.," Tenzin said.
Just as Korra was about to introduce Tenzin's children to Winter, the girl paused and her eyes widened upon seeing the one person she'd been searching for.
"Tohra!," She shouted waving to him.
That's when Korra saw him, Tohra. She was shocked. That.. was her younger brother?! He was huge!
"Sister..," Tohra said as the two of them hugged each other.
But that was as tender as the moment got, winter was then seen punching her brother on the head with her fist.
"💢 You couldn't have tried harder to find me, you idiot?!," Winter said irritated.
"S-sorry sis, I wasn't sure where I ended up either. It just took awhile to find you.," he said slightly whimpering from her temper.
What happened next was a hilarious display of Tohra trying to explain what took him so long to find Winter, while simultaneously trying to escape her wrath.
The scene then pans up to the sun setting in the distance while Korra, Tenzin, and the 3 young airbenders try to process what they're seeing.
The scene then flips to the next day with Korra addressing the media in front of city hall. As she continues to answer questions the best she can, radios are covering the event.
A figure with two swords and a mask turns to a hooded figure whose hands are clasped behind his back.
"Sir? Should we proceed with the plan?," the masked man asked.
This figure is Ammon, the leader of the equalists. He turns slightly and replied to his lieutenant.
"Yes. It seems the avatar has arrived in republic city a little early. I guess we'll just have to accelerate our plans a little.," he said before the scene goes dark.
The credits then roll before two shadowed figures both with tails are seen hovering in the air above the ocean.
"You sense anything?," A voice asked.
"Yeah. They're definitely here.," a man with black hair and eyes said.
"You mean the team that was sent before us, Tarro?," the other voice asked.
The one known as Tarro nodded. He had his grey gi on with cerulean boots, a white and blue undershirt, purple belt, and a brown monkey tail.
The one next to him had silver hair, red eyes, wore a red long sleeve shirt, a jet black jacket, white and green boots, and had a sword sheathed to his back. This was Daikon, Tarro's partner who was also his cousin ironically.
"Think we need to warn them?," Daikon asked.
Tarro shook his head. "No, it's too soon for that. We could end up changing history if we're not careful.," Tarro said.
Daikon shrugged. "Isn't that the point though? Supreme kai sent us here to change that horrible fate Zamigra has planned for this world.," Daikon argued.
Tarro sighed. "You are right about that, cousin. However, we mustn't show our hand too quickly or else things could get a whole lot worse before they even get any better.," Tarro said.
The two saiyans decided then and there on a plan of action. They'd meet up with the other 2 saiyans they sensed were here and then go from there. Tarro and Daikon then ignited their ki and blasted off towards where they sensed the 2 saiyans.
What is this dark fate they speak of? What terrible fate could befall this world that they're actively trying to stop? It seems our saiyans may have some grueling battles in the future. For now we will see what our 2 saiyan siblings will be up to next time.
Next time: Chapter 2- Leaf in the wind
Hey guys, Novaflame6 here. Hopefully I didn't do too bad with this chapter. Sorry if the end feels a little rushed, I wanted to include as much of the cannon story that I can while also putting my own twist on how things might've played out if there were saiyans in the Legend of Korra story.
And yes, if you couldn't already tell this is a Tohra x Korra story (Sorry Korrasami fans. I don't write lesbian stories, nothing against those who do I just wasn't raised that way. Plus that'd make me feel really uncomfortable doing that. One thing I was a little disappointed about the cannon story was how Ikki didn't end up with anyone as she got older and how Mako ended up alone at the end of the series. With this story I plan to rectify those 2 things.
With that in mind, I'm thinking Ikki is older in this story than she was in cannon. It's just so she's closer to the age of the person she'll end up with, that also means Jinora and Milo will be older too. Also it wouldn't be a time travel story with out members of the time patrol in it. Any guesses as to who the villain of the story is? 😂 lolz This possibly can change though.
Lastly, since there are saiyans in the story I do have to bring in villains that can actually be a threat to them. Otherwise the story might get stale real fast. Already know who the first villain will be but what villains should I bring into the story in the future?
