Chapter 9 - Stranger (Part 4)

The poor princess had cried herself to sleep. Sarah, and her assistants let the girl be. She slept until sundown. Sarah kept checking on her until she awoke, meanwhile the prince had left for an important meeting of which he had not yet returned.

"Good evening, your majesty. Here is your dinner."

Sarah said, as she dropped her tray of food next to her. The girl just starred at the woman, tired and gloomy, drained of all her energy crying. She waited for her to give her a command to leave.

"Is there anything else you would need me to do, your majesty?"

The princess nodded, she signaled for a pen and paper, when one of the maids knocked on the door.

Bowing, she informed Sarah and the princesss in the room;

"Your Majesty, the Prince wants you ready for dinner with him."

Sarah with the help of the other two helped her get ready for dinner with the prince. She had refused to have the one Sarah had brought in, perhaps to save her appetite for the meal with the Prince.

All through out the preparation, Sarah wore the same expression as the princess, that both maidens wondered why.

Sarah, brushed her hair for the last time before putting back on the desk below the mirror.

"You look stunning, your majesty."

Although she didn't get any bright reaction, the princess finally moved her gaze from her laps to the mirror, gazing at herself as if processing her new look. Her hair was let loose, and she had a light make over to brighten her face, although it almost proved defeated, seeing that she wasn't smiling at all. She'd been lost in thoughts since her getting ready. She was wearing a white dinner dress, while her skin smelt like roses.

She stood up, uninterested while lost in her thoughts, saddening the maidens in their hearts because they had put in so much effort into her look.

"Don't worry, your majesty."

One of the girls, spouted, winning another gaze from her. The girl felt successful because she felt she had watered down whatever it was that was on her mind, by a little.

Sarah excused herself, leaving the two to finish the last touches. She walked briskly to find the prince. When she got to the dinning hall, the servants were almost done setting up the hall and the table. She was taken aback by surprise. The dinning hall looked too beautiful for just dinner. Retracting her thoughts, her heart pressed with urgency to find the Prince. She found her way up to the hallway to the door to his chambers, and she was met by his guards as expected.

" I have an urgent message for the prince," she said.

But they refused to let her through, telling her to wait until after his dinner since it was almost time. Defeated, she went back to the Princess's chambers.

And just as she left, it was almost time for the dinner, and the Prince, fully dressed in elegance to the question of his pondering guards, came out of his, heading to the hall, calmly, while his body guards followed suit.
